Storm's Gaming Hideout(s)

The full tour.

This is my retro gaming/lounge area.

Please keep in mind that this is a major work-in-progress. I hope to make some drastic changes down here. But, as someone who LOVES basements, this works pretty well for me.

The board game shelf. Notice the vintage Pac Man at the bottom, with Pac Man Yahtzee up top (& Tetris Jenga on its side next to it):

To the right of that, headed towards the main section, is a notch in the foundation. There's currently a countertop with a mirror (??) behind it. I'd love to take that out & either build in a custom entertainment center with lots of shelves or jerry rig one with a bunch of bookcases, etc.

The traffic light:

The counter is home for my Funko Pop collection:

Just to the right of that is the main area. I have a 36" LCD with my older 360 connected to it for my daughter to use when she has friends over (Kinect games, Rock Band, etc.)& I just figured out how to get a bunch of channels on it without having to pay for another cable box. (Win!) The CRT is used exclusively for retro gaming:

I keep my two favorite consoles on display:

I keep my other consoles in the drawers of this daybed:

And this is where I do my modern gaming on the XBO or 360:

Sorry for all the photos. I'll post any upgrades as they happen as well.

Thanks for looking!

Very Nice!

One of the bummers of living in FL is no basements. Sometime I wish i had one.

I spy Storm Shadow & Cobra Commander!

Seeing your stacks of games makes me want to peer through them!

If you ever feel like posting close up pictures of each shelf, feel free!!!  :D

I used to have a closed-in 2 car garage, until we move to the good side of town - a newer/smaller house with a 2 car carport and better school system for the girls.

My dream is to have a nice, finished basement someday.

As a kid, I never had one, but it seems like a lot of my friends or aunts & uncles did. I fell in love with them. The low ceilings, the darkness, the ability to be loud & not have anyone care.

In fact, one of my first 2600 experiences came in the basement of my uncle's house. I remember it vividly.

In the meantime, this works. It's completely dry (the previous owners apparently spent a lot of money making sure that was the case) and it has heat & AC. I bought a cheapo carpet remnant at Home Depot (I need some more) and some old furniture we had plus a donation from a friend.

I'm going to paint the walls soon (I wish I had some skills, as I'd love to paint some classic video game sprites up there) and I'm either going to frame off the space using pallet walls (cool thing I found on Pinterest) or have my friend build actual walls.

Someday, someday...

I think you could paint the Combat tank field or something similar .... masking tape would do wonders ;)

if it turns out bad , can always paint over it or will give you the motivation to build walls  :wreck-it-ralph_anim:

it looks like a really nice space
