I must have had a million of these, and even some of the vehicles.  Mixing and matching parts, the futuristic look, weapons that fired....these were great times.

My brother had that one!   It was awesome.   I also had some sort of tower thing, like a playset for them.

Woah, no recollection of these, but WANT that Battle Cruiser :-) At work, when our eyes glaze over and we start chatting about our childhoods (trust me, the things you end up chatting about on Night Shifts, lol)...i thought i was getting a lot of blank looks when i mention: Gobots and Zoids..... But if i dropped this bomb? I think they'd think i was from another era.

Good stuff!

The Micronauts universe seemed to drop in from the skies, out of nowhere, borne of the collective heart of young geeks worldwide.

We were enamored by comic book storytelling, where imagination is the limit.

Practical-sized action figures were beginning to sprout up everywhere.

The future was getting brighter, lit up by computerized neo-reality.

The Micronauts captured all of this with a terrific Marvel comic book, ingenious figures with mix-n-match parts, a glitzy modern look that remains impressive to this day.

I had a few figures, though none of the larger vehicles.

Had the Baron Karza, Time Traveler and a few others.

Loved the Bug character in the comic, though he never appeared as a figure.

Yeah, these were ahead of their time.

These guys apparently killed sales of TRON figures, though they were on sheleves for a few years before the movie ever came out.

Like Rom the Space Knight, this is one comic/toy franchise I wouldn't mind seeing revived, in full motion (live or animated) or imaged format.

I don't remember those...but agree with the Battle Cruiser.  That thing is pure awesome!!  I want ONE!

But I do remember another Transformer idea called Gobots.

I think those look MUCH cooler than Transformers!

Plus they haven't suffered the taint of Shia LaBeouf

What's the story with Mego toys?

Before Kenner and Hasbro MEGO was the go to toy company for licensed dolls, action figures, accessories etc. Everything from SciFi to Fantasy to Comic to movie tie in's.

Mego Corporation

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mego Corporation Fate Bankruptcy Successor Abrams Gentile Entertainment LLC Founded 1954 Founders D. David Abrams and Madeline Abrams Defunct 1983 Headquarters 41 Madison Avenue[1]New York CityUnited States
Key people
Martin B.[2] Abrams, Neil Kublan, Vincent Baiera Products dime store toys, action figures, celebrity & fashion dolls, games, electronic toys

The Mego Corporation was a toy company founded in 1954. Originally known as a purveyor of dime store toys,[3] in 1971 the company shifted direction and became famous for producing licensed action figures (including the long-running "World's Greatest Super Heroes" line), celebrity dolls, and the Micronauts toy line. For a time in the 1970s, their line of 8-inch-scale action figures with interchangeable bodies became the industry standard.

In 1982 Mego filed for bankruptcy, and by 1983, the Mego Corporation ceased to exist;[4] today, Mego action figures and playsets are highly prized collectibles, with some fetching thousands of dollars in the open collectibles market.
