Said some stupid stuff over the years. I kinda miss it though. Anyway, my Jaguar passion comes and goes but I don't think it will ever completely go. Currently I'm on an Atari Jaguar kick yet again... Boy, Jaguar CD systems sure are becoming the hot item... Sad that Skunkboards are not more readily available, what an awesome item. I was super lucky to get one of, if not the last Silly Skunk about a year ago. Anyone else get their hands on some Jaguar multicarts? Cant get those anymore either, like the Skunk.. If you're banned at AtariAge it would most likely be for a good reason. We are not the Island of Misfit Toys for people banned at other forums. This is a special community with some very nice people and a friendly feel. Unfortunately, over the recent years, many of the moderators began to choose sides and abuse their moderation power. I was banned for very trivial reasons (mainly because a couple of mod guys just plain hated me). And actually, the last time I left Atari Age, I asked my account to be closed, because I was being bullied. I am sure you will not encounter any problems with me and you will see that I have a lot of positivity to offer to this community. ! I was a member at Atari Age from 2003 until 2015. I was well liked by many people, dozens, maybe a hundred people there. It was a very small group of people against me at Atari Age. 3 to 5 people. Unfortunately one of them was a mod. It only went downhill the last year or 2 I was there... I'm not the only one who had a problem with certain people at Atari Age. Plenty of other gentlemen left that place for similar reasons. Are we adults here, or is this elementary school? I feel like I am being tattle taled on. Wow. "omg look what he did years ago at this other forum omg ban him immediately!" Are you really kidding? The only one being ridiculous here is you, Yo Yo. Not me. And tell me, what was it exactly that I did that was so bad at Atari Age? Nothing, that's what I did. I will continue being a respectful and upstanding member at this Atari forum. I will not post again on this introduction topic. For reasons unknown, Mr. Yo Yo has it out for me. I have no idea who you are, but it's pretty low what you are doing here. I am just trying to have some Atari fun here on this forum, and you are bringing stuff up that is years old and far in the past. Do you have any idea how common it is for moderators on forums on the internet to abuse their power, and ban people for almost no reason? It happens all the time. I'm not saying that is the case at all at this forum. But please, can we be adults here. Let the past be the past, what happened years ago at another forum has absolutely nothing to do with today at this forum. There's an unspoken "rule" that "a ban at Atari Age = a ban at Atari.io" We don't want to be the place where people go to post janky comments about Atari Age and its mods and members. Many of our members are members there too! Truth is we generally like Atari Age and think Albert has been pretty fair. They're not competition for us. And Atari Age is far more lenient than we are. If someone gets a Ban at Atari Age they sure as hell aren't gonna cut it here. It was pretty clear from kevincal's first post that it wasn't going to work though. No ill will meant towards kevincal, we hope he continues his work with the Jaguar and wish him well but we're not going to let people like kevincal in here under any circumstances. atarilbc, who we all love and respect here, made a case on Atari Age in defense of kevincal when all that happened: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/228385-must-kevincall-stop-flooding/?p=3046927 We took atarilbc's Atari Age post into consideration because we value what our members have to say and want to treat everyone with fairness. MaximumRD had already been through this with kevincal on Atari Age and wasn't going to allow that cancerous nonsense to fester here, so he enacted "the MaximumRD Cuban Smackdown" and that my friends was the end of it. Sad it came to this. I feel bad for him, he seems enthusiastic about the Jaguar but we can't have that here. I gotta wonder though why so many problems come up with the Jaguar/JagFest guys. Sabertooth Posted February 10, 2016 Report Share Posted February 10, 2016 Since my AA post from 2014 was mentioned above, I'd like to clarify that my initial defense of kevincal was made in the context of a dedicated thread created for the sole purpose of flaming another forum member. Personally, I felt that admonishing a member for "spamming" a board with what were essentially on topic posts was a little school yard. If the mods were stronger over there, it would have been locked from the start. However, that thread quickly disintegrated into name calling and it became clear that kevinncal had issues with other members outside of that one incident. Still, if I recall correctly, he was not banned outright. Instead, he asked to close his account. He later came back to AA after a cool off period under the username "JAGUAR" but it was a short time before his behavior resulted in a ban. This is a special place and an unusually drama free forum. People here are genuinely enthusiastic about Atari and retro life in general. We are also CHILL. I'm glad that the moderators are proactive in stopping drama before it starts. In this case, they reviewed the evidence available to them and made the right call. Let's keep atari.io the troll free, community oriented and fun space it has become. P.S. Can Jaguar fans PLEASE quit it with the crazy? I'm about to change my profile picture. You never hear "I gotta wonder though why so many problems come up with those 7800 guys." I think I speak for all of the mods here when I say WE COMPLETELY AGREE! But please don't feel that you need to change your avatar! You and btbfilms and a few others here represent the sane, chill Jaguar contingent. I know he can beat Contra, Lost Levels, Battletoads, Ghosts n' Goblins in his sleep: If you're talking "good guy, funny, smart, handsome, etc.", yeah, I'll agree with you. If you're talking "excellent gamer", ummmm, you must have me confused with someone else. And I will also vouch for Chris from CGQ. He came through for me BIG time last year & cleaned an NES for me properly. I rewarded him for his work but he still didn't have to bother with an AtariAge lurker but he did.
