I remember the day my neighbor down the street picked up Earthworld and claimed he was going to win the Talisman or whatever the prize was for that game. He, his brother & I spent hours trying to figure it out. That turned out to be the most ambiguous game I had ever played and we just about gave up about a week later. The Nerd (AVGN) did a retrospective on this series some years back which sheds some light on what became of those prizes. Some likely don't even exist.

Some more UK Prize stuff.

Talking of which Elite were very naughty regarding The Fall Guy when it came to Compo's...

They wanted a Cover exclusive of the game in Magazine PCG and offered a compo prize of winner getting a stunt ride in a car, but had promised the magazine the final game would be 10 levels long, including platforming sections.

Final code arrives for review, only 6 levels, no platforming  sections (dropping due to time constraints) PCG say we are dropping The Fall Guy as the Cover Game, putting Ghostbusters on instead, Elite say right, we are pulling out of the Prize offering then...

And they were offering Elite customers the chance to meet the star of The fall Guy TV show, Lee Majors..only 1 catch..you had to be 1 of 5 people who had your letter printed in a UK Games mag praising the quality of Elite's software...

Thank you to everyone for all of the information on the Swordquest games, prizes etc. They have always fascinated me. It actually makes me feel good that others are as interested in all the information surrounding the games as I am.
