So I stumbled across this link from a couple years back. Looks like someone made a custom Atari 7800 console with a new controller and SCRAT adapter. Guess someone made use of that expansion port!

Published by retro swashbuckling on December 14, 2014

New in the collection: an Atari 7800 per system of a special kind!

The console is in very good condition, underwent a professional cleaning and reconditioning of plastic. Scratches removed. The front cover was made entirely of silver and together with the blue power indicator and the console has elegant, modern and high-quality silver buttons.
The modifications include:

Composite/AV plus connector

Allows easy connection to every current TV, video projector and monitor with SCART connection. A channel search is no longer necessary, insert, used socket using the remote control select and go (cable length approx. 2.20 meters).

The AV plus connector has a better picture than traditional video tags. Thanks to his self, he offers the optimal representation for each mode. Color distortion and color wheels as they are known by other tags and even the RGB version is thus avoided. The RF modulator is still functional. This is not self-evident for other tags.

Stereo/surround sound output

The console has to spend on the ability of stereo and surround sound. A microprocessor ensures the upgrading of the existing Mono signal. The signal is additionally enhanced by more sound effects. About the channel selector switch on the back of the console can not only continue to perform the channel selection for use of the antenna connection, but switch between Mono and stereo/surround. The tone is significantly upgraded and offers game Hall atmosphere. A TV with stereo support is provided.

New switching power supply

A modern international switching power supply (110V/220V) with matching Atari 7800 plug is located in the console. With a suitable plug there these power supplies exclusively with us.

Exclusive Atari CX78 Silver Edition joystick

Revised Atari joystick stick with black and silver fire buttons. Funktionsgeprüft. Better grip, so that you can keep the upper hand in every game.

Nice, I've seen other customized 7800 editions but never this one. To be fair, red is probably my favorite color (I say probably because I also like blue) so going the silver route isn't exactly for me. Wonder if they actually ever did more with it and release the custom modded units beyond just the one.

I know, right?! I like the monochrome look, but thats kinda my jam.  I just really REALLY want to get my hands on that SCART cable!

I really want a euro controller but they are so hard to get on eBay

The struggle is real. Best price I've seen is on Best Electronics and they're charging upwards of $30 now. I kick myself for not buying one from Best back when they were $17 :(
