Yes! Frogger! My mom has been waiting for them to include that one on these systems! Hopefully it's the Parker Brothers version, as that's the one my mom likes (because it's the one she grew up with, rather than anything to do with how good the graphics are).

And a portable! Yes!

I guess they sell enough they can keep cranking out new revisions. I have the 2+ (the last one made based on the original chip that can have a slot added) all the ones after the 2/2+ were based on a different technology, besides slight differences in the line up I've not been interested enough to grab another, between my Harmony cartridge and several original 2600 models I'm good.

I am glad to see the portable but my eyes are not interested in screens less than 7 inch these days. Eyes started getting bad a couple years ago so even with glasses these small screens are a strain, shame as I still own several portable devices with smaller screens but I would not buy them today. Great to see it finally though, great option for others.

I think maybe those are the "reset," "menu," "game type switch," "level select," buttons?

An SD slot would be awesome, because then I could download a bunch of 2600 rooms and play them on it (they probably wouldn't all work though).

Ah of course silly me. I was thinking fire buttons lol but that makes sense, almost like they are recycling the SEGA shells or something though, there is nothing of this design that says "Atari 2600" , hope it changes before release.

I still wish they'd make a flashback with a cartridge slot.

Me too. That way, I don't have to wait to get a coax adapter for the real 2600.

It would be cool if they shaped it like a really tiny Heavy Sixer or something like that.

I'd be all over the portable if it had an SD slot and a decent directional pad.  I agree with MaximumRD that nothing in the design really ties back to the classic console.  The could have throne some faux woodgrain on there.

No offense to anyone looking forward to the portable but what a shitty design. I guess something is better than nothing but it's definitely not in the Atari spirit at all, just a cheap re-purposed shell that looks like you could play Street Fighter Turbo on it, not Missile Command. I'm guessing it cost all of $8 to make and everything else is profits. Yay, Go Atari....

Love the idea of the portable, hate the design and the price.  For a little bit more, one could pick up a handheld running Android (JXD 5110 for example), or Dingux (here's an A330 for $79), or something similar.  Sure, they can sometimes take some extra legwork to get everything running exactly the way you want, but their versatility more than makes up for the extra cost IMO.

I'm all for supporting ATGames and Atari, and I don't condone outright piracy (you do own all those games you have ROM images for, right?), but with the number of options one has to accomplish essentially the same thing -- i.e. running emulated games on a portable device that looks nothing like what it's emulating -- I can't see how this ends up being much more than a novelty item.  I hope to be wrong about this.

I will own the portable if it is at the same 40ish price tag, they can keep it at 70 bucks.

I don't want a PSP to emulate with, and I dont own nor do I care to own an iOS or Andriod device.   This is just what I'd want, especially if it has an SD card slot.

I do own the AtGames sega, and I think its well worth the 30 I paid for it.   More if I actually bothered to use the SD card! ;)
