Another nice episode.  DK Jr. is more complete than DK on the 7800 as it has all the arcade screens.  Looking forward to the Mario Bros episode.

You can play Nintendo on Atari? That sounds wild and crazy!!

"Who the hell are you calling crazy? You wouldn't know what crazy is if Charles Manson was eating Froot Loops on your front porch!" <-name that song.

Observer,

Before the Nintendo NES lockdown - Oh yeah!!  My first Nintendo game was Donkey Kong on Intellivision... even as a little kid I knew something was not quite right with that port. But it was all I had and I played it for years, thats what we did.

@ BTB

Sounds familiar to me. I had played the 2600-version of Donkey Kong and the same thoughts about it.

The Intellivision-version of Donkey Kong looks a little bit like 'Practical Pig vs. Swamp Thing' to me.

I never did like the Intellivision port too much honestly!!!! Maybe it was the controller?

Oh, the Coleco port of Donkey Kong was horrible.  Can't think of a reason to like it.

Nintendo on Atari - Mario Bros.

Before they were super, before NES, they were plumbers and they were on Atari.

Entertaining as always. I'll have to make a drive out to Pixel Vault and check them out.

When you look at the 2600, 5200, A8 and NES ports of Mario Bros., the player sprites are much larger compared to the squat 7800 sprites. As the 7800 version of Mario Bros. came out much later than Super Mario Bros. on NES, I've always wondered if the player sprites on the 7800 port were modeled on the "small" Mario in SMS. Any thoughts?

Indeed, but D2K Arcade is a late compensation for the Intellivision friends.
