Two versions of Crystal Castles - 2600 and XEGS. This is one of my favorite arcade games, how does it stack up at home?

My three favorite all-time Atari arcade games are:

1. Crystal Castles (first and foremost)

2. Marble Madness (a close second)

3. Food Fight (still very good and harder with the arcade controller)

I always loved Crystal Castles because it is different. It is like 3D Pac-Man, only with competition. It has a mascot (Bentley Bear), and it is challenging. I never beat the game, but came close a couple of times to Level 10 (THE END). I always wanted to beat that game. It's really fun. :)

GREAT to you're back in the Lounge and have new episodes in production! Commando and Ikari Warriors will be fun episodes. The 7800 really didn't have enough games like those to compete with the NES, and even when they did, they were hamstrung by Jack Tramiel cutting corners to save money, such as releasing games on the 512K 7800 cartridge board. That and the control pad could've been more than enough to go head-to-head with the NES.

I have Commando and like it better than the NES version.  I have not played the 7800 port of Ikari...but it looks like fun.

We also filmed Commando that night too. Episode coming soon
