Star Wars Battlefront II

So, for Christmas my girlfriend and her family bought me the Battlefront II PS4 bundle.

I also got Battlefield One which is fun, but most of my gaming has revolved around EA's Battlefront II.

I'm curious as to if any of the classic gamers out there play these modern multi-player first person shooter games and what your thoughts are on it overall?

I really like Star Wars (not completely thrilled with Episodes VII&VIII but that's a separate thread) and I have enjoyed jumping into the multiplayer world of Star Wars through this game.  Playing as a wookie, a stormtrooper (that can actually shoot), and occasionally as a hero or villain is fun.

I wish you could select a world to play (scenario) rather than have it randomly generated for you.  Also, I swear that I get lumped in with some of the BEST killer players sometimes.  I've been playing since December and I would consider myself an average player.  But last night, man, I got my a$$ handed to me on three different consecutive maps in Galactic Assault (GA).

GA is 40 players, 20 on 20, and objective based.  So, at the end, it shows you how many "eliminations" you had, and what your overall score is.  I am usually somewhere between 4th-12th on the list of 20.  Last night though I placed 19th, 20th, and 19th.  I was so frustrated I just turned it off and went to bed early.  Maybe I was just tired...I don't know.

Anyway, overall I would give the game an 8 out of 10.  What are your thoughts?

My kids have a PS4 that I've never touched.  Why?  I have too many older systems and games on my list to get to.  Time is limited.  It's funny too...both kids are in college now and the PS4 (and PS3 -- also never touched except to watch Netflix) sit unused upstairs.

One of these days when I'm not working 50 hours per week, I'll get to it I hope.

My wife bought me a ps4 with battlefront II on boxing day and I really enjoyed it. The campaign story is great and there's a small sequel as well that's a free download called "Resurrection". I've played through the campaign twice and may again. I'm not a multiplayer guy but I do enjoy playing the arcade section against the bots. I have a lot of fun with it for what it is but I would recommend the game.

Rick you really need to play the batman arkham games on the ps3. They are worth finding time for or blowing off something else hahaha

I have a PS4 and I think it is an impressive console.  I do have having to do updates when I plug it (since I don't leave it connected the whole time) but the games are impressive.  I do have the Battlefront games but I find myself playing arcade games and retro games or modernized versions of retro games more than anything.  Just a lack of time, I guess.  :)

🖖 Going to the final frontier, gaming...
