Now by no means am I a good photographer, but here goes:

The show this year was huge!  So many more people attending this year.  My son and I arrived early for early entry, but it still took 45 minutes to get in due to the huge crowd.

Here are some pics of the free-play arcade area.  There must have been about 50 pinball machines and over 100 arcade games.

This pinball machine had blacklight effects that were really cool. Can't emulate that!

Loved the old pinball machines with the rolling scores and bell sounds

I was drooling over this mini-cabinets.  Man, I'd love to have one of these.

Two of the most difficult games ever made!  I didn't do too well on these.

Berzerk on the left, Frenzy in the middle.

Old school gaming in authentic 70's decor.

Overall, my son and I had a great time!  Can't believe how big the show is getting.  Howard Scott Warshaw and Todd Frye were there, but I didn't get any pictures of them.

Dude! Those are AWESOME pics! I can't believe you actually did this. Great post!

Okay so a few thoughts...

  1. I'm lovin' that photo of the kid playing VCS. The '70s decor is perfect. Great pic!
  2. Nice haul bringing home the "Star Raider" cartridge and everything else.
  3. I think it's awesome that Tod Frye and HSW were in attendance, and the vendors look awesome too.

Such a cool show, wish I could've gone. Glad you and your son had a great time, thanks for sharing this with everybody!

Rick - the green Computer Space cab is extra cool! I see it has a "do not touch" sign on it and nothing on the screen. Were they able to power it up at all during the show to give a demo?

Not to my knowledge.  I wanted to ask that very question, but it was really packed with people.  I don't think my pictures really captured the crowds that well.

I put that "Star Raider" on the shelf here in my office.  I think it's so cool.  When you play the cartridge, it does come up with the "Star Raiders" title.  As I understand it, the first batch of cartridges were produced with the mis-print label.
