I'm shamelessly borrowing the format of atarilbc's cool thread about choosing favorite Cartoon Intros in order to ask the following question:

Which picture label do you prefer: Atari or Sears?

You can take into account anything you like.  You can base your choice solely on the artwork itself.  You can choose to factor in how the artwork corresponds to the game.  You can make a decision about which title you like better.  Come to a decision however you want!

First up is Street Racer vs Speedway II -- please answer the poll above, but I'm also especially interested in hearing your thoughts about each, and/or why you made your choice the way you did.

So... there's a skier and a motorbike in the artwork of Speedway II.  As a kid, I had NO CLUE that the player was supposed to be a skier in the Slalom game options (7-12).  Likewise, you're supposedly using a motorbike in the Number Cruncher game options (21-24).

Having the manual might have helped...

I think Street Racer's gonna run away with this one!

Speedway II was just never gonna get in the passing lane to get around Street Racer.  I think this next one might be a bit closer!

This one is really difficult.  I like the guy with the glasses in Space War, and also that it has the people factor in the artwork.  But that weird ship upper left bothers me.  Looks more like a Norelco electric razor.

So sorry glasses man...I'm going "Space Combat" on this one.  It's got cool ships in battle, and that's a winning combo for me.

The Space War artwork never really looked to me like it had easily identifiable spaceships, like you pointed out.  I feel like it also lacks focus -- e.g. the planets/moons seem to me like they're just sprinkled haphazardly in the background to fill space.  I think it's overly busy.

Space Combat, while less lively and having less in the way of action, has numerous distinct, detailed ships.  I like that the art has a kind of Soviet retro-futuristic feel.  And, for as plain as it is, the giant red planet is eye-catching.  It also makes one look more closely at what's going on around it.

Another vote for Space Combat.

Space War because of the people scrambling.

...and I'd like to imagine the people from the Missile Command box art are in the dome in the background...

Space Combat looks like the Revenge of the Gigantic Orange!
