  1. New WIP available for download. This game is already pretty impressive. https://forums.atariage.com/topic/365031-dreadnought-assault-wip/

  2. I just discovered the thread here. Someone asked why they can't voting for Carrot Kingdom™, and the answer was "There was no public binary release." or something like that, which at the time there was. You just had to download from the Carrot Kingdom™ site, not from the other forum. 😛 That was kinda uncool IMO, along with the very limited list of games that do not including the rest of us. Like Peter said, no Songbird, Video61, etc. I don't keep up with the whole scene, but IMO the Venture port for 7800 that Peter and Lance did should have been way up the list! Either way, I appreciate the hard work of everyone, and love checking out what I can from everyone. 💖

  3. Anything would be an improvement over the stock TI sticks, but I can promise this thing will be the top quality pad you can get for TI: https://retrogameboyz.com/products/ti-99-4a-ti-99-4a-joystick-controller-game-control-pad-texas-instruments

  5. It's not an Evercade item per se, but it is part of my Evercade setup 😂 I decided last week as I thought about where to use the VS-R that I wanted to use my workstation for playing in addition to working. I have a very nice 27" Dell monitor that I use with the company MacBook Pro via DisplayPort. The monitor also supports HDMI, so I got an HDMI switch along with an HDMI audio extractor to feed audio to my external powered desktop speakers. I tested the setup with my EXP and the mini HDMI output on it. Everything looked great. The sound was great, too, except that it was extremely loud, and I had no way to control the volume. And that's where this little volume attenuator comes in. It sits between the speakers and the HDMI audio extractor. It had good reviews and is very small. The knob has a bit of weight to it, and it turns very smoothly. I thought about getting something a little fancier in a metal case, but those are much more expensive, and most importantly, much bigger. I don't have much desktop real estate. This thing is about the size of a box of matches, maybe a little smaller. I switched my MacBook Pro to HDMI output to keep things simpler. I then found out that when the MacBook Pro is connected via HDMI, the volume control on the keyboard does not work, so this little volume pot works there as well. Now I'm ready to play games via HDMI at my workstation!

  9. Exactly! 😄 I hope more products can do this, to at least giving us the option.

  10. I agree, there is much better feeling when dealing with the physical media, but the most of people don't care they just want to play. A shame the creator and community do not want to keep it both ways.

  11. I completely agree with this. If it's just ROMs, why not just do emulation on a PC? The Atari 2600+ is a perfect example. It is so compelling because it uses real cartridges. Other new products like the Commander X16 have cart ports.

  12. In truth I got grumpy since the community (and creator) seem to be leaning towards ROMs instead of supporting the cart slot for Aq+ games. For the average Joe ROMs make more sense. As a retro game developer and publisher I'm enamored with carts. 🙂

Check out this site: https://atariemailarchive.org/ It appears to be authentic and there's some interesting stuff here. What do you guys think? 1983 - 1992 skips the early days, but we get a lot of later history.

hahaha that reminds me of the time I was getting a developer to help me with my C++ homework. From 1997-2002, I was taking evening classes part-time at the university pursuing a second bachelor in computer science while working at Microsoft. Those weekly programming assignments were brutal. In case anyone is curious, I dropped out.

Very cool day to day minutia of Atari. 😄 Entertaining to see the culture going on through e-mails. This one reminds me of when I bought a book on coding games in C for DOS around....1994 maybe. I did not have a C compiler or have access to a C compiler. 😅 Borland and Watcom were expensive at CompUSA, so...were off limits for me. At least Petrick had engineers she could mooch off of. 😛

  20. Although I never had the pleasure to meet so many wonderful people in the community, it still saddens me when groups and individuals pass. I know it's been done before but it's no longer maintained, perhaps someone could put up an international web page that would allow people to add names and comments to those members of the community who pass. I put one up for our local Chicago members if you want to see what I'm talking about. https://sites.google.com/view/chicagotiug/eternal-flame?authuser=0 Well needless to say you have my condolences.

  21. 8 Bit Milli Games (rebranded now as Console Moo) releases for the 2600 -- the boxed games currently have a $10 discount each. Infiltrator/Astro War is a double ended cartridge, a first for me. Now how do I find the time to play these? 😂

  22. I recently accessed the deepai.org website to generate this FREE picture... I noticed from my log afterwards that it tried to access my PayPal data. If I remember correctly it was a FREE image generation while NOT signed in, and the PayPal screen did not pop up. So be careful.

  23. Here's a great article on secret games & unlocakables on the Evercade VS. The 9 "secret" games will always be available from the console once unlocked. Others require specific cart combos to be detected. This is just another fun way to enjoy your Evercade VS. Have you unlocked them all? https://www.timeextension.com/guides/evercade-secret-games-and-how-to-unlock-them

  30. What I like about the VS is that certain cart combo's unlock a game. Like if you have Atari Collection 1 & 2 inserted, Dark Chambers 7800 becomes playable. It's a fun bonus for collecting them all! 😉

  31. Wow, lot of these secret games look great. Being a Rogue fan, I have to give Rogue64 a try for sure. The secret games on the EXP didn't thrill me, so I haven't bothered to unlock them.

  40. If I had the space, I’d go after a Zenith console TV. Since I don’t have the room, this 13” will do just fine. It will come in handy for our next Atari Party.

  41. I love it! I don't remember the exact TV, but that remote is something my family had in the past. I think it was for a gigantic 32" Zenith that was our main TV before the world switched to flat panels.

  42. Testing my new CRT. It’s a Zenith Space Command SF1315A. It’s hard to take a good picture of a CRT, but it has a great picture and the remote is original and barely used. So far, I’m very happy with the purchase.
