    Shaving & Razor Blades

It’s almost like Gillette has a interest in shortening the life of a razor blade. 🤔🙃😜

To clean the handle, I just run it under the tap and scrub with an old toothbrush. No blade on, of course.

    Shaving & Razor Blades

Gillette is out here misleading people and effectively encouraging people to wear their blades out early. This video, which Gillette put out to instruct people on “how to clean and maintain your razor”, contradicts almost every point we discussed above. It’s as if this video was made for the sole purpose of addressing these points and knock them down one by one, under the guise of an instructional “how to” video about razor maintenance. Gillette is encouraging users to: Run water over the blades Not tapping your razor to dry it off Not wipe your razor blades dry This is the opposite of what we discussed above. I wanted to clean the soap scum off of my razor handle and went on YouTube to search for a video. It’s not the blade itself I want to clean mind you, it’s the little bits of soap and dry shaving cream that gets into every crevice of the razor handle. I thought I might need to soak it in CLR or something. Then I came across this video. I wouldn’t have thought twice about this, but having remembered our thread above this video seemed super cringy, and frankly devious. It’s as if they’re telling people “no no no! Don’t listen to this common, sound advice! We want you to wear your razor blades out and buy more.” 🤔

    Thrift Store Finds

This item is pretty old, but I've been looking for one for a long time with no luck. It's the Ms. Pac Man plug and play and it has the twisty knob for Pole Position control. It also has the little game key slot, but no cartridge (dang it). It had really old and dead batteries within, but I wasn't able to open it at Goodwill. I took a chance (only $5), and when I got home, the batteries were ancient. One had leaked, but not bad. I got it cleaned up pretty easily and it works fine.

    Thrift Store Finds

Some of my finds over the last month or so: Picked up these GameCube games in a Pasco, WA Goodwill. I still need to find a GameCube memory card for my Wii, but I have a couple controllers, at least. Found these two Competion-Pro joysticks at a Goodwill in Hermiston, OR. Haven't tested them out yet. I assume they were designed for the 2600 and the two buttons serve the same function, but it would be nice if they supported the 7800's 2nd button. We'll see! And I found these at a Idaho Youth Ranch thrift store in Boise. (I discovered there's a lot of thrift stores in Boise. I only had time to stop by a couple, though.)
