    RockyRaccoon

    Greetings! Hello! Salutations!

I'm new around here! My name is 'Dan' but I go by the online moniker 'Rocky Raccoon'. I've been collecting since about my teen years. I am currently 34. I like collecting a heck of a whole lot, and have a varied collection of consoles. My favorite era is probably the mid eighties, onwards. The first two machines I ever played on we're an Atari 2600 in my dad's basement on a B&W TV, and my Dad's Commodore 64. My favorite retrogame series is The Fantasy Zone series of games. I was first introduced to collecting through a dear old friend back in MA, USA, and have been in the hobby since. I've been learning to get into the technical side of the hobby-- learning to fix consoles-- diagnose problems and fix them, though I still have a long ways to go-- though I do have a background in electronic schematic reading thanks to CAD courses I took in high school that have generally helped me a bunch there. I learned about this place primarily through the NoSwearGamer on Youtube where this place was mentioned once in a while, and decided to come check it out. I also hang around AtariAge with the same user name.

📰 Google paid $58.1 million for the Atari building at 1272 Borregas Ave. This building was home to 2600 games development and all the zany things that went on there. The Mercury News has a nice article on this which quotes Atari I/O: https://www.mercurynews.com/2019/07/01/google-grabs-an-early-atari-building-in-north-sunnyvale-deals-widen/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

    Global Atari Real Estate

If anyone cares, I was Atari/Warner's Manager of Global Real Estate. I have all the lease abstracts from everywhere in the world Atari had real estate and detailed stories about famous and not-so-famous buildings. Ultimately, when Trammel bought part of the business and the properties and turned the company into a cottage, family-owned business, I was the one that sold, leased, sub-leased and otherwise disposed of all 8,000,000 s.f. of Atari's property. Very little of it was taken by Trammel, so I signed a two-year contract with Warner to dispose of the global portfolio. I have news articles, floor plans and rental numbers for anyone interested. I am now an old man the all this stuff goes to the dumpster when I die unless someone wants it and will take care of it. Could that be you? Let me know. Atari.pdf

So I'm at my local library, and they have a little "for sale" section, which I always stop at to peruse. And this little gem catches my eye. It's tiny (about the size of a CD) and pretty beat up, but of course I buy it anyway. It's Tele-Story presents Dragon's Lair by Superscore with a copyright of 1984. It was supposed to come with an audio tape, but that wasn't there. I was hoping I could find the audio track on-line, download it, and then burn a CD. Does anyone here have any ideas on how to find such a thing? Maybe you'll have better luck than me. Even without the tape, and even in terrible condition, it's still a cool item to find. I love the artwork! The Retroist blogged about a similar item a while ago: https://www.retroist.com/2016/09/10/read-dragons-lair-storybook/

Thanks, Justin. I dusted off the tunic when I moved but the fit was off. 10 years is a long time ago in terms of clothing! 😂😂😂

I really like Enterprise. Its actually the only Trek series that I have on physical media and is probably my favorite after TOS. With the exception of the finale, I think that the fourth season is great with the various multi-episode story arcs, the Mirror Universe episodes and the beginnings of the Federation. I imagine that a fifth season would have got into the war with the Romulans.

The fourth season of Enterprise is really well done once they close the mess left from the prior season. I really feel that had the show been like that since the beginning, it would have lasted seven years.
