This came in yesterday and I'm so excited to be able to play this little gem again. I bought it when it originally came out and about a week later someone stole it from me. Needless to say I've got some history with this game and I'm going to be able to finally beat it 8 years later I can't wait.

The most blessed news I've heard in some time: Level 1 reduced to Level Zero Effective immediately (Sunday, Sept. 13), the Clackamas Co Sheriff’s Office is dropping the evacuation level for some of the populated urban areas from Level 1 (Green) back to Normal. This includes Wilsonville, Lake Oswego, West Linn, Happy Valley, Gladstone, Milwaukie, Clackamas, and Tualatin. See map https://bit.ly/35kgtbE for changes.

There are usually long stories about where the dupes come from. πŸ™‚ In general: You buy a big ebay lot for one special game you don't have. The rest go in the duplicates box. You find a bargain at a local shop. It doesn't matter if you have them already. Those babies must come home with you. You give stuff away. People don't like taking stuff for free, so they nicely send you stuff they think you need. I've learned to accept anything in trade to avoid making people feel obligated. Etc, etc, etc. I'm just glad to give them good homes. Prices are low, most trades accepted.

Someone has already made a version of Frenzy for the 2600. It's called Frantic and it has both Berzerk and Frenzy. Here's a video of it... Donkey Kong 3 has also been attempted using bAtari Basic... I'm attaching binaries for both so you can try them. I do agree that DK 3 would be great to have on the 7800. Another arcade game I'd love to see on the 7800 is Phoenix! The only home version that exists is the 2600 version. As for another arcade port for the 2600, I think Nibbler would be a cool one for the system (and the 7800). It has a symmetrical maze so it should be doable on the 2600. If you don't know the game, here's a video of it. Donkey Kong 3.bin Frantic.bin

    Hello From Ohio

There is a 2600 port if Crystal Castles you can probably get for cheap someplace. It's OK, but you really need to find a physical arcade cabinet in order to truly appreciate it. It uses a trak ball and no emulator can do it justice! My family and I went to stay at a hotel in Door County, WI last year and they had a cab. Had a blast getting the high score. We went back this January and it was still there! I played before on XBOX but never much cared for it until I used the trak ball.

Just to share a tip that works for me: Once I get around level 7 or so, I'll hold the fire button down during the initial part of the round and mostly focus on avoiding falling bombs. Once you've cleared out most of the green/purple guys, go back to precision firing.

Oh, and btw, DO NOT use copyrighted music in your videos, if you decided to make an intro or add music. YouTube does have a library of royalty free music you can use. I've used some for non review videos I've made.

    I need advice

Here's my two cents: Philosophical: Be ok with the sound of your voice ( a lot if people hate how their records voice sounds), allow yourself room to grow, don't be discouraged by slow growth, don't engage trolls, just block them & make videos how you want to make ( there's almost always someone who wants you to do things differently). Capturing: I used to capture most of my gameplay using a DVD recorder. This can present challenges as the technology is getting old and a lot of DVD recorders are breaking down. Also some files are difficult to transfer to computer easily. When I have used to DVD recorder recently I've had to use an extra program to transfer files. Also when using DVDs sometimes when something is blinking on screen the DVD does not capture it just right. In the past I've had to transfer some games to a different file type because of this. I have an Elgato video capture device. It's a white older one. I've used it for some live streams. It seemed to work okay, but I ended up getting an Elgato HD. I believe it's an older model and I made sure it came with an adapter for RCA style cables. It's currently what I'm using for most of my game capturing. On the upside it turns my gameplay into a computer file and saves me time transferring stuff. It also doesn't lose flickering Sprites when recording. On the downside some scrolling games can get blurry at times. Also when I plug some older systems into it without using my DVD VCR combo as a bypass, it doesn't it doesn't send the signal to my TV for some reason unless I use splitters on the RCA cables. It's honestly a mess of a setup right now lol but it works. There's also a delay to what you see on the computer screen when recording. So you need to also have a TV near your computer to use this. The Elgato video capture did not have this delay if I recall correctly so I could play it looking on the computer screen but the window on the screen is much smaller. If you're going to invest money into this I recommend putting some of it aside for a good microphone. They really can make a big difference. I have a Blue Yeti that I've used since the beginning it seems to do a good job. That's just for starters. If you want some more advice or have any questions feel free to let me know.

My dad and I have been playing lots of One-on-One Basketball on the Atari 7800. He is terrible! And he gets so mad, too! I fear for my ProLine controller's health!

OMG, same here at my college student center! Those lousy Thuggie Guards took a lot of my quarters. The nearby 7-11 had Double Dragon, and that one (with a Slurpie) was another favorite.

If you don't have it yet, I have it. The file is to big to post here but it can be emailed. I have permission from the original author to burn a copy BUT IT IS NOT TO BE SOLD. I also have permission from Bruce at B & C to distribute it - IT IS NOT TO BE SOLD. His master copy from Atari had a few errors, so I emailed the Composers file to Bruce replace his. These are very polished tunes. Pm me and I'll Email it to you as a google drive link. I use Imageburn. Paul

    Hello From Ohio

Welcome to the I/O @1Littlebeast! Every time I see a mention of Ohio, I can't but play the theme song from WKRP in Cincinnati in my head 🎢🎢🎡 πŸ™‚ I wish there was a barcade near by but unfortunately not. My favorite arcade games that I can't pass by are Asteroids, Galaga, Robotron, Defender. If I see one of those, I have to play.

The Vader in my opinion is the nicest looking console I own. The NES looks like a Fischer-Price VCR (though intentionally so), I like the way the SNES looks but mine is yellowed, I have the Genesis Flashback and that's not the same, N64 is a lumpy mess, OG XBOX is too bulky and dated, the Wii reeks of casual (though the black model is slightly less severe), Wii U is okay, and the Switch looks like a Wii U Gamepad taco. The 7800 also looks slick, but I think Vader barely beats it. The Woody doesn't look too bad, especially where I have it set up at my grandparents' in a heavily wooded room.

Squad Challenge - Galaxian (Atari 2600)

Managed to break 20k on @RickR's copy of Galaxian, which came in the mail today. I much prefer the 2600 joystick to the Wii remote! 22,970. This is a great video game.

I tried using an Atari on a LCD and, uggg, colors were dark and grungy looking. Not nice to look at at all. My old 20" Sanyo is a CRT but a true flat screen CRT. It still has a bright and vibrant picture and looks really good with these older consoles designed for CRTs. I wouldn't part with it for anything.

Blast from the past! WOW! πŸ˜›πŸ˜†πŸ˜ŽOne thing leads to another and I came across THIS fun old video where I responded to some video game related questions. I am always amused particularly because I just don't remember videos I did like this 10 years ago, mostly because I just answer off the top of my head, fun to see my answers and what I was into at the time, who I was responding to and connected with etc. Just sharing some fun little stories but interesting if anyone wants to answer the same questions today. πŸ˜ƒ What is the strangest place you have played a video game? What is the longest you've attempted to repair a computer/console non-stop? Have you ever had nightmares about games? Have you ever played a game that was too scary to play?

    WELCOME TO MY LAB!

Hi and welcome to Lance’s Laboratory! This is the first post of what will be my personal blog sharing small slices of life with you from within my Lab. For those of you who are just getting to know me for the first time, my name is Lance, I’m from Minnesota, and for nearly 40 years I’ve been in the Atari business operating Video 61, one of the last surviving original retail Atari distributors. We started in the video business as a local chain of video rental stores serving the Twin Cities area with locations along U.S. Highway 61, the road that musician Bob Dylan referred to in the album and song Highway 61 Revisited. I also love classic movies and spending time with my family and friends at my cabin up north. For decades I’ve gotten to know you guys as my customers and friends, buying, selling and remanufacturing Atari systems, games, software, and computers, and developing my own line of Atari-compatible Video 61 games and controllers. I’m still in my Lab working away dreaming up new creations and shipping off new original Atari products, and I thought after all these years of being in the Atari community it was time to start sharing tidbits of Minnesota life with you here on my blog. To old friends and new, WELCOME! - Lance
