With the addition of HERO and Cosmic Commuter, I have completed the NTSC Activision games for the 2600. All my other Activision games are complete in box copies, and I hope one day I can upgrade these with CIB copies at a reasonable price.

It would seem now even another sign the AtariVCS was rushed out the door so quickly to meet the open arms of backers πŸ˜‚that yet another shortcut was taken in that the AtariOS was not even encrypted! Hmmm I a not sure WHERE this bit of info belongs amongst all things AtariVCS but I do find it interesting, I do not know much about more technical things so FYI if anyone feels the need you wont be correct ME as I am just relaying this video and info as I found it just now. At the very least seems interesting. Does this mean one does not even particularly need the specific console to enjoy all the great and magical things Atari OS offers πŸ€¨πŸ€”πŸ˜€? Might anyone enjoy it using these methods on ANY low end Linux box or perhaps single board computer? Does this make the actual AtariVCS console even more irrelevant? Or was this whole thing faked by some horrible TROLL HATER? πŸ˜› THE MIND BOGGLES !!!!

The 7800 Concerto Cart is Here

Ballblazer is the only 7800 game that ONLY uses pokey for audio. Commando, uses the TIA for sound effects and the percussion while the pokey handles all the melodies in the background music. So if you were to fire up Commando, you would hear that it too is missing something in the audio. While I don't have it yet, I did pre-order for the Dragonfly cart and decided to go all in with a fully kitted one.

2600 Homebrew Review - Dead of Knight

This game was placed in the last Retro Junk box by Rowsdower70 (Thank you, sir!) I finally took the time to really play it, and thought I'd give my impression here. The game itself is labeled as #17 of 20, and signed by Joe Grisaffi (one of the designers and director of the film) and was made in 2013. I have not seen the film this game is based on, but it appears to be available for free on-line, and I'm going to check it out. I also don't know if only 20 copies of this cartridge were created. If so, that's a shame, as the game is really good. It came with a manual which is simple and well done. The game has a really nice opening screen with great music. You start as a naked guy who has to find his armor. Once you find it, you can use your sword to hack up 4 victims that you have to search for. Each time you kill a victim, a policeman is spawned. They shoot you, and you are unable to kill them. After the 4th victim is killed, the goal becomes to find a character named "Marla" and drag her into a castle. Once inside, you must defeat a Boss Queen by shooting away at her shields and then the queen herself. The game reminds me a lot of "Haunted House" -- lots of searching and exploring, while avoiding the bad guys as best you can. I think it's really a lot of fun. It makes you want to keep playing until you can defeat at least one boss. The graphics are great, and there's no flicker at all. RickR's final grade: A Anyone else have more info on this game, or an opinion on the gameplay?
