  1. Hey guys, look! My dad has been reunited with his childhood system, the Odyssey 2! Only other person I know who grew up with one is @nosweargamer. This thing rocks! I love it so much! My dad is looking for a few games in particular. If anyone has duplicates for the system, please DM me.

  4. Well I'm pretty partial to the Epyx 500xj myself. I do like the feel of the slick stick and the TAC-2, but the TAC-2 fire buttons needing constant cleaning really turns me off them. Most of my game playing now is using a modified NES controller but there are some games where I feel a joystick is still be to use. I also have one of those 'Industrial' looking controllers from Newport controls that I think were popular with the Atari 8-bit crowd in the 80s? I've two of them and they work okay but kinda unwieldy to hold onto when using them.

  5. Only thing I did with my Ti about 2 years ago was to replace all the caps in it with a kit from Console5. I also redid the bodge wires inside so they weren't going over those heat spreaders anymore. I also know that I wiped off the old thermal paste and replaced with newer higher grade stuff. But that was it, just a little preventive maintenance for the future. Didn't take any pics at the time as I didn't think about it? Here is the link for the cap kit I used about 2 years back. They are currently out of stock, but that just means they haven't put any together as a complete kit. They lik

  7. The vintage joysticks that I own are the Wico Famous Red Ball, Wico bat handle, Wico Ergostick, Epyx 500XJ, The Arcade Joystick by Suzo, Captain Grant, Gemini Gemstick Pro, BP joystick, Atari CX40 and last but not least, the ZipStik. Out of all of these my favorite is the Europe only ZipStik. It's all mcroswitched, built like a tank and has the sweetest clicky short throw action. Number 2 is my all microswitched version of the Arcade Joystick by Suzo.

  8. As our TI's age, they may break down, or you may have purchased a broken or even a 'thrashed' unit. This topic will be for any and all restoration tips you have developed or projects you have completed. So, please share them here, you might just be helping someone in need... or someone may return the favor for you someday. If you are in the beginning stages of a 'resto' and have any questions... fire away!

  10. I finally found one of these obscure controllers and will be receiving it soon. Anyone out there have any experience with it or opinions about it?

  11. I remember owning a pair of these for the 2600 in the early/mid 80s but they didn't last very long as I recall. Then a few years ago, I stumbled on a pair of these that only had on 9pin connector on the end. I was curious and suspected what they were for. I was pleasantly surprised when I was correct and found out I'd bought a pair of these for like $6 for the.... Ti-99/4a And they work just fine which, I can't say for my actual pair of Ti controllers.

  13. I can second this. It's awful. In addition to bein unresponsive, the placement of that button is cruel.

  15. The worst Atari compatible joystick I own is hands down the Commodore Model 1311. After 15 minutes of play with this non responsive stick with a cruelly triangular shaped handle my hand hurt big time.

  16. Newer is better and small in this instance. Did you ever hear of the Semi Virtual Diskette device that could be used on the TI-99/4A? Me neither! While it's no longer in production, at one time it would have been a cool item to own.

  19. I have the Power Stick for A2600. I've never seen this config for ColecoVision before. Interesting and very cool. I also have the game Mogul Maniac for the A2600 by the same company. I like my Power Stick, but you're all right. It is very small. Thanks for letting me share. :O)
