True Story, back in the day I rented from a store that had an amazing selection of games, I rented Tengen Tetris one day, loved it, a week later I returned to rent it again, I could not find it, I asked the clerk, he said pointed to the Nintendo Tetris, I was thrown off at first and said "Er, no, I don't think that is the one, the one I rented was not made by Nintendo". Long story short, he denied they had, OR EVER HAD any other version, even me clearly stating you DID because I rented it, he was trying (for some reason) to cover so hard "Are you sure it was HERE you rented it?", he absolutely would not budge on it, insisted they never had any other version so I just dropped it. Only years later, when I would come to read articles and info in magazines etc, would I learn the story of TENGEN TETRIS and TENGEN themselves, now I still do not know WHY exactly this occurred, maybe the clerk bought (or stole?) the TENGEN version because he had learned that TENGEN would have to pull sales? Maybe the store was ordered to PULL the game off their shelf? But in either of those cases WHY claim they NEVER had it in the first place? So whatever the reason I can only suspect wrong doing on the clerk or store managers part because of their behavior acting like they were never in possession of the game, like it was some highly illegal item like plutonium or something ๐Ÿ˜œ. Anyways, carry on, was not my intention to disrupt this thread but all this talk about TETRIS, OFFICIAL, TENGEN etc, just brought back that silly memory that comes back whenever I hear the TENGEN name lol. FEEL FREE TO MOVE THIS to OFF TOPIC or perhaps WEIRD STORIES under CLASSIC GAMING or something.......CARRY ON GUYS. ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿป

    Squad Challenge - Tetris (NES)

There's some truth behind the story @Justin mentioned about renting Tengen's Tetris. The area I grew up in had a chain of video rental stores called Vision Video. They had the Tengen version of Tetris. I rented it twice in a row. It was because of this game I discovered Tengen. I rented it twice in a row. I went to rent it a third time and the rental store refused to rent it again. I asked why? They did give me an honest answer, though. If the store wanted to continue to rent out Nintendo games the store had to remove any games that were not licensed by Nintendo. It was Nintendo's "rule". That was the answer they gave me. I asked if it could be purchased to which they answered with a solid no that it had to be sent back to Nintendo to be destroyed. Such a sad fate for a great game. That also went for Super Sprint and other Tengen Games that were actually good games. I'm surprised to learn decades later that some Tengen games survived. It's why I'm hellbent on finding any Tengen games for the NES I can. I would still like to know how after the lawsuits Tengen did manage to get a few of their games as official releases.

I had a busy weekend, so this was the only one of the three I was able to do. I know this might sound crazy, but I think Sonic 1 is underrated these days, especially compared to Sonic 2. Played on a Model 1 from 6-Pak, using a video capture device. And I too beat the 2nd boss with no rings, lol. I was nervous battling him! 130,060

I apologize for the snowy picture. It's not my 2600's fault. My laptop interferes with my 2600 when I'm using it. I close the lid to shut it down when playing so the picture is better. It and the laptop share a circuit as there is no other place to plug in the 2600's adapter at the moment. But here's my first attempt. 5,555 points. Playing the game on real hardware with a 7800 Europad. Makes a difference. I prefer the joystick controllers but all of mine need rebuilt...again. Poor dome contacts again. The Europad is nice but there are just some games that feel better with the original joysticks.

I'm calling a handicap on this one! lol... my 2600 has seen better days... and my TV is trying to go out... may download it and try it via emulation... or on my Flashback portable... Anyway, the moving shields are more annoying to me than the zigzag missiles. I think I do better once they disappear. Score is hard to read on here, but it was 3800. (Also, bonus pizza pic!)

Congratulations nosweargamer! Congratulations @nosweargamer on an awesome score! Blue Lightning was our 2nd Atari Lynx Squad Challenge. I was thrilled to see a good turnout for this games and all of you posted scores to be proud of. I hope everybody had a lot of fun checking out what the Atari Lynx had to offer. @kamakazi20012 messaged me to say that he has a copy of Blue Lightning on its way to him as we speak from @Video 61, and would like to continue this challenge in the Scoreboard! It's amazing to think that when Tetris was just making it onto Game Boy, Atari Lynx had this. Blue Lightning looks almost good enough to be a home console game. nosweargamer achieved the High Score for this Squad Challenge with a score of 170,800. @atarilbc took 2nd Place with 128,400 points, and @Atari Creep scored 106,300 points to take 3rd. @Control Issues and @RickR brought their best. Storms Giveaway 2 Haul!!!

Awesome stuff, Control Issues. I'm not a huge fan of Halo either. I'm more of a Borderlands person. My wife and I play that game religiously. Sports titles? Naa...but I do enjoy a good game of Tennis and Virtua Tennis (DC) and RS Tennis (2600 & 5200) are good games. I've recently been enjoying Rocket League and is probably the only sports game that I can say is a LOT of fun. I just can't pull off the same skills that I've seen others do in that game. Dreamcast? Most of the games on that Generation Disc are top-notch. You might try to keep an eye out for any Official Dreamcast Magazine discs as well. Some had full games on them where the magazine discs are the only way to get them. I love Genesis and have fond memories of the Master System...but I believe Dreamcast remains by favorite Sega system of all-time.

Thank you very much sir! ๐Ÿ˜„ About the GBA, thanks I modded it myself ๐Ÿ˜‡ I got me a AGS-101 screen on Ebay out of China for โ‚ฌ30,-. You can also get them now from either Deadpan Robot in the UK and if Iโ€™m not mistaken also from Handheld Legend in the US. You do have to solder a wire for power and that is a little tricky due to the very small solderpoint but with a little patience youโ€™ll probably can do it no problem! One thing: before you buy the screen, be sure to check wether you need the included ribbon cable to be 32-pin or 40-pin. You can do this by removing the battery cover on your GBA. Youโ€™ll see a number on the mother board. For a 32-pin it will start with โ€œ1โ€ and for a 40-pin it will start with a โ€œ0โ€. As for the shell, you have to modify the front somewhat by cutting some plastic so itโ€™ll fit but itโ€™s an easy enough job. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ˜Ž To all of you, it was a lot of fun, thanks for pushing me with those awesome scores! This game is one of the first Master System games I owned. Never managed to beat it, even now I didnโ€™t make it past Mandara. Looks like you almost HAVE to beat the game with 1 life because if you die in the later levels and you lose your powerups.. itโ€™s game over very fast. Tips from anyone who did beat the game?
