    Β

  2. Splatterhouse TurboGrafx-16 Controller: CONTROLLER / KEYBOARD / PLAYER'S CHOICE Difficulty Level: Default (Press Run To Play) Play on: Real Hardware / Dedicated Console / MAME / Emulation OK! βœ” Squad Challenge ends 11:59 pm PST October 31st, 2019 πŸŽƒ OBJECTIVE: Play for the highest possible score using the difficulty settings defined in the challenge. Post a photo or video of your score in this thread. Scores must be achieved between October 15th through October 31st, 2019. Screen captures are not allowed as they are easily manipulated for falsified scores. Multiple submissions are permitted. The player with the highest score at the end of the competition is the victor! πŸŽƒ ELIGIBILITY: Anyone can join in. All players are welcome! πŸŽƒ PLAY RULES: Games may be played on real hardware, Flashback or emulation, using any controller or keyboard, following rules and game settings as delineated in the Squad Challenge. Enhancements, rewinds and hacked versions of this game are not allowed. πŸŽƒ DIFFICULTY LEVEL: Default. Press Run to Play. Splatterhouse is based on the "damage" system. You start the game with 3 "Ricks." Each Rick has 5 "hearts." If you lose all of your hearts, one Rick will disappear. If you lose all of your Ricks, the game is over. πŸŽƒ FAIR PLAY: Players should play fairly, be honest, and have fun! Falsified scores will result in your immediate removal from the site. It goes without saying that no use of cheats, hacks, cartridge frying, enhancements, rewinds, Photoshop, subterfuge, or any other unfair advantage is allowed. Everybody hates a cheater. πŸŽƒ MORE: To review detailed rules on how to play, please visit the High Score Squad page here: πŸŽƒ MESSAGE: Welcome to our 71st Squad Challenge! We're getting into the spooky spirit of Halloween by playing Splatterhouse, an absolutely horrific game on TurboGrafx-16. This is one of the TG's best! Splatterhouse was a big draw to players first coming over to the TurboGrafx-16 from NES. This is NOT a Single Life Run, play it full-out and enjoy the spookiness. Remember, you can play TurboGrafx HuCards on TurboGrafx-16, TurboExpress, and TurboDuo! I hope you guys enjoy this Squad Challenge and have a great October. ROM and Instruction Manual are provided below. Good luck to everyone playing! πŸŽƒ NOTE: Our next High Score Squad Challenge will be for the Nintendo Game Boy. Be there! 3. Congratulations RadioPoultry! Congratulations @RadioPoultry on your fantastic score! I hope you guys enjoyed that super spy action in Spy Hunter! I hadn't played this game in years, it was nice to pick it up after such a long time. It was always one of my favorite games to play on the NES growing up. You guys posted some seriously impressive scores on a very challenging game. @RadioPoultry posted an astronomical score of 100,715 points! Unreal! I ranked 2nd place on the board with a score of 64,330 points, @kamakazi20012 took the 3rd position with his A-game of 39,470 points, @RickR took 4th with a solid showing of 22,125 points, and @Atari Creep rounds things out with an impressive 15,510 points. Congrats to @RadioPoultry and everyone who jumped in to play in this squad challenge and shared a score! Radio should be very proud of his accomplishment and I'd like to encourage him to post his new high score on the Scoreboard, and let's make sure this Challenge continues on! NOTE: Our next High Score Squad Challenge will be a Halloween challenge for the TurboGrafx-16. Be there! SPY HUNTER FINAL STANDINGS 1 RADIOPOULTRY 100,715 2 JUSTIN 64,330 3 KAMAKAZI20012 39,470 4 RICKR 22,125 5 ATARI CREEP 15,510
  4. OutRun! I've always loved the aesthetics of that game. I love living by the water. It's just a lot of fun!
  5. Dude that is so sweet! That's just to cool! Tremendous job!! πŸ™Œ Great to see you breathe new life into this beauty!
  6. Best I can do! This was a really fun game. I don't want to win this! One of you guys has to top this score tonight! My High Score: 64,330
  7. You did great @Arenafoot! This overlap between Homebrew Forum and 2600 Form etc. has been a paradox that we've been trying to sort out for a while and make a change. When I put the site together I created the Homebrew Forum thinking this would be THE place where people go to talk about the Homebrew scene. A lot of people post to the 2600 Forum instead, (or whatever forum the system is that the homebrew is for.) I've considered making the Homebrew Forum exclusively for development, but that seems just as confusing. Your posts are fine either way, just needed to merge two great conversations into one.
  8. Not a problem! You guys are posting great content and I'm grateful to have you guys here! πŸ™Œ Sometimes we just need to tidy up a bit when we have duplicate threads on the same topic.
  9. Great idea @nosweargamer! I'd like to offer a special WELCOME to everybody who just joined our community! And a huge thank you to NSG for hosting his October Giveaway here! W E L C O M E E V E R Y B O D Y !
  10. I'll miss Robert Forster. What a presence. Just watched him in El Camino tonight, then saw on my phone he passed away from cancer. Was brilliant in Twin Peaks and Jackie Brown. One of my favorite actors, I'm sad he's gone.

  11. I'm not going to be eligible for NSG's October Giveaway (thanks for hosting it here this month @nosweargamer!) but my favorite scary game is Splatterhouse for TurboGrafx-16! Runner-up would be the original Atari arcade version of Gauntlet if you consider that spooky.
  12. Agreed Wow. That's not very convenient for me. Thanks for sharing!
  13. What's worse is the Pause button doesn't appear to work on Spy Hunter. Is there something I'm missing? I can't pause my game. I'm playing a real game on real hardware.
