  6. That's cool @Willie! I've always wanted to convert a Dan Kramer 5200 Trak-Ball to a 5200 Arcade Stick, or even use the original 5200 Joystick in there, I think it would be so cool. I never thought about the spinner. This is a cool idea, thank you for sharing.
  7. In "real life" I'm involved in the housing and real estate market. This is a big marker in your life in so many ways. Thinking of you and those in your life @atarilbc and wish you the best. We'll be here keeping the TV warmed up when you're ready to dive back in.
  8. It was great seeing your adventure to Too Many Games! Keep 'em coming Jason! πŸ™Œ
  9. You guys have given me a great excuse to post something I've been meaning to share here for six months. I love DS9, watched it from day one when it was new and I think it's held up really, really well 25 years later. It may be my favorite Trek, they really reached new heights with that show. I loved the whole Star Wars cantina feel of everything, especially Quark's Bar. You never knew who was going to come through the airlock and walk into Quark's. Maybe for a Raktajino, a round of Kanar, some Hasperat or to play the Dabo wheel. Or, you know, some prune juice. Ferengis get a bad rap but Quark was one of Star Trek's more interesting characters and he definitely kept things lively on the station. There came a point at the end of last year as fall became winter and it began to get "cold" here that I slipped into binge watching the show every night. Just an episode or two, but I kept with it all through the winter. There's something about November-January that always get me in the mood for DS9 and Jaguar. I think because DS9 first premiered in January, I spent my entire winter break looking forward to this new show, now it's etched in my mind that cold weather = DS9 adventures by the fireplace. Well, couple the idea of warming up on a chilly night with hanging out at Quark's Bar and suddenly this idea pops into my head that if I could have one thing off the station (something that actually exists) it would be mugs from Quark's. They're cool, and they're actually something I would use. Drink something warm while watching the show on a cold night. A quick search showed that the mugs used in Quark's Bar were intended to be different from the replimat mugs used throughout the rest of the station, and were not specially made props for the show but rather alien-looking "Hotjo" mugs from a company called Highwave: A little more searching and I found that Highwave was still in business, they still made the Hotjo mugs (although they had updated the design slightly after 25 years) and yes, you could order them online. This was back around Thanksgiving, and when I was checking out their website they had a Black Friday Deal for 30% off your order plus free shipping. I ended up ordering two of the modern Highwave Hotjo mugs, as well as two matching JoPilot travel mugs too. I really love the look of these! They're clean and cool and I absolutely love them. The bottom photo is one I took of my mugs when I unboxed them. I ordered one of each in black and white. I was going to post this forever ago, but it wasn't gaming related and wasn't a priority and time slips by quickly. If you're a DS9 fan though I highly recommend these, they're super cool and not overly expensive.
  10. I would love to have seen a photo of you in Sick Bay Eugenio!
  11. Thanks @Atari Creep! 🍻
  12. It was cool getting to see how an episode is made so quickly. A little disorienting without the lounge music. Great to see new episodes coming for Jaguar fans.

Did Jack Tramiel help or hurt Atari in the video game wars? This Polaroid was taken inside Atari at a meeting with Jack, Sam and Garry Tramiel and other hotshots. This Polaroid is one of the many interesting pieces from my personal collection.

  14. WHAT WOULD IT TAKE TO BUILD YOUR OWN ATARI PONG ARCADE MACHINE? Would building your own Pong arcade machine be that challenging? Let's ask someone who's done it! @btbfilms76 and I discuss the possibility of building your own Pong coin-operated arcade machine. Pong was cloned endlessly as arcade machines and home consoles. What would be involved in creating a repop Pong machine of your own? How much skill would that really take? A clip from a β€œlost” livestream, still working out our audio. 15. Hey it's Millipede! WOOHOO '84 TIGERS! Go Gibby!! I always liked having the DDT bombs in this game, I feel like this is one of the earliest "power ups" we saw in an Atari game. Fantastic video, thank you for another Atari Day site button shoutout!
  16. πŸ’₯Β I'll see everybody tonight for WEDNESDAY Night Chat!

  17. lmao Linda's intro was teriffic πŸ˜‚ Warlords will always be my favorite Atari 2600 multiplayer game. It's a great party game when you've got a lot of people over! I always use it as a wonderful way to get people reintroduced to Atari and create new memories. Nice how you highlighted how the 4-Player paddle games work on 2600. Also, the worst criminal for defacing game cartridges with labels was Blockbuster Video. It seems like every rental game they ever had was defaced by stickers that couldn't be removed. Fantastic video Brian, thank you!
  18. Thank you Eugenio! I hope you enjoy the content we have coming up! Thank you Arlen! I always felt the crash has become something discussed and analyzed in pop culture far more now than at the time. History Channel did not mention James J. Morgan, I wish they had. It's an important point that the quality of games had gone way up with GCC's involvement. I think one of the biggest opportunities for Atari at that time was the involvement or acquisition of little dev groups like GCC. Sega and Nintendo found success with different R&D groups. Atari had was a unique place to work, but it had become a monoculture and to break out of that rut with different labs located away from Sunnyvale to embrace new groups and new ideas outside of the Atari buildings on Borregas Ave. would've been a good thing. Grass Valley and GCC are two fantastic examples of this. If Warner could've held on for another year and pioneered some of the practices we saw with Nintendo and Sega I think we would've had an even more interesting story.
  19. Glad to have this back @dauber πŸ‘

  23. NINTENDO, SEGA & ATARI AFTER THE VIDEO GAME CRASH: What did it take for Atari to restore their reputation and for Nintendo to revive the industry after the crash? @btbfilms76 and I discuss Atari’s collapse, what it took for Nintendo to revive the industry, and how both duked it out with Sega in the retail wars for shelf space in Sears and Toys R Us.
