It was cool getting to see how an episode is made so quickly. A little disorienting without the lounge music. Great to see new episodes coming for Jaguar fans.

WHAT WOULD IT TAKE TO BUILD YOUR OWN ATARI PONG ARCADE MACHINE?
Would building your own Pong arcade machine be that challenging? Let's ask someone who's done it!
@btbfilms76 and I discuss the possibility of building your own Pong coin-operated arcade machine. Pong was cloned endlessly as arcade machines and home consoles. What would be involved in creating a repop Pong machine of your own? How much skill would that really take? A clip from a “lost” livestream, still working out our audio.

Here's My Atari Day Contribution!
Hey it's Millipede! WOOHOO '84 TIGERS! Go Gibby!! I always liked having the DDT bombs in this game, I feel like this is one of the earliest "power ups" we saw in an Atari game. Fantastic video, thank you for another Atari Day site button shoutout!

5 Must Play Atari Games | 2 Player Games
lmao Linda's intro was teriffic 😂 Warlords will always be my favorite Atari 2600 multiplayer game. It's a great party game when you've got a lot of people over! I always use it as a wonderful way to get people reintroduced to Atari and create new memories. Nice how you highlighted how the 4-Player paddle games work on 2600. Also, the worst criminal for defacing game cartridges with labels was Blockbuster Video. It seems like every rental game they ever had was defaced by stickers that couldn't be removed. Fantastic video Brian, thank you!

There was so much going on at Atari in '83-84. I'm not sure if the History Channel's program touched on it, but Atari's last president under Warner - James J. Morgan - had only been there for less than a year and had an aggressive plan to turn Atari around. With GCC's involvement, the quality of 2600 and 5200 games went way up in '83-84 and the 7800 was primed to correct past missteps. Also, the arcade division was killing it! It's a shame that Warner didn't give Jim Morgan the opportunity to fully realize his plan. I really like some of the Tramiel-era products but their takeover was really a death knell for the once great Atari.
Here's a link to the archived NYT article on Warner selling the farm. It's an interesting read.
https://www.nytimes.com/1984/07/03/business/warner-sells-atari-to-tramiel.html
Thank you Arlen! I always felt the crash has become something discussed and analyzed in pop culture far more now than at the time. History Channel did not mention James J. Morgan, I wish they had. It's an important point that the quality of games had gone way up with GCC's involvement. I think one of the biggest opportunities for Atari at that time was the involvement or acquisition of little dev groups like GCC. Sega and Nintendo found success with different R&D groups. Atari had was a unique place to work, but it had become a monoculture and to break out of that rut with different labs located away from Sunnyvale to embrace new groups and new ideas outside of the Atari buildings on Borregas Ave. would've been a good thing. Grass Valley and GCC are two fantastic examples of this. If Warner could've held on for another year and pioneered some of the practices we saw with Nintendo and Sega I think we would've had an even more interesting story.

I've been really off the ball on my podcasts...not posting updates....well, I remembered this time.
Chapter 10 actually does have a classic video game segment, so it's on topic! In this episode:
- My SENIOR Year in High School - answering a frequently-posted social media survey
- The Mysterious Phantom Pac-Man Game - For years Sean has insisted that a sequel in the Pac-Man franchise existed, yet nobody believed him.
- The Doors Without Jim - What's the point? Well...
Glad to have this back @dauber 👍

NINTENDO, SEGA & ATARI AFTER THE VIDEO GAME CRASH:
What did it take for Atari to restore their reputation and for Nintendo to revive the industry after the crash?
@btbfilms76 and I discuss Atari’s collapse, what it took for Nintendo to revive the industry, and how both duked it out with Sega in the retail wars for shelf space in Sears and Toys R Us. A clip from a “lost” livestream, we're still working out our video and audio setup.

Yes! There've been a few times when Members have posted their kids scores in here. I think that's a fun way to bring family and friends into the forums, even if they aren't active members here. We can add their name to the scoreboard at the end.

I think I could have gone longer, but I got distracted by the thought of what to do if the score rolls? Are we on the honor system? I've never filmed a video before for a game, but maybe that's the answer.
Honor system is fine! Uploading a video to YouTube is a cool idea! We're just having fun and I thought the difficulty settings would have been enough that we wouldn't surpass 10,000 points.

The Tengen one should have been the original release. I thought it was way better than what Nintendo did. However, any console that got Tetris was a miracle considering the licensing issues during the time. It's a wonder that anything got this game at all.
Here's a nice comparison between the two:

Man...I don't have this one either. I have Sonic 2 but not this one.
Maybe next year 😉 You don't have to play an original cartridge, you can play through emulation, flashback, etc. Also Sonic is available on the Sega Genesis "6-PAK" cartridges which are fairly common and not that expensive.
