Mike, from Gamer Logic, found a folder full of Press Release materials for the Atari Jaguar from the years 1992 and 1994 at a store that was closing.  Check out the video below...

Same similar thing happened to a large retro convention here in my home state that took place in Oklahoma City during the April timeframe. The last even they held (Only their 4th year..) a Tornado blew through the night before and while minor damage was done to the building, the event had to be cancelled for their Saturday main day show as there wasn't any power and the police had the area closed off etc. They were able to get power restored and host the event for Sunday, but by then most of the attendance they would have had, left to go back home. It was a big financial blow for them and they even had Marc Summers of Double Dare fame there to attend as a celebrity and had planned to host a mini double dare like event.

The biggest issue with hosting events like these, is always the money aspect required to do it. I was lucky in that many times, my much smaller event usually would pay for itself. But then once much larger events cropped up in the neighboring states...etc. The interest in this area faded quickly for people wanting to attend smaller events like mine. So it was lack of interest from vendors and exhibitors along with a stagnated attendance that made me stop hosting the OVGE.

I have thought about starting it up again but purposely manage the exhibitions in such a way that we would have stronger variety. So I would limit how many Nintendo centric type stuff would be there. Maybe limit it so that exhibitors focus their booths on just one system or something to keep duplication of what is being shown and on hand to buy at a minimum. I wouldn't mind having vintage computers, or pong clones exhibited more at such an event.

    BIG CHANGES COMING
    TO ATARI I/O FORUMS!

Here's a SNEAK PEEK at What's Coming. Click Above Video To Watch!

We're upgrading to a new version of the software that powers the forums. Atari I/O Forums will run on the latest incarnation of the industry-leading community forum software, powering thousands of message boards online. This is a complete redesign from the ground up, and will include new features not yet found in Atari forums online.

This is a very big deal, this will affect everybody in the forums.

    WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU:

This is a GOOD thing. We're upgrading to the next level. More features, more opportunities to make the forums better. Best of all, we're bringing back Wednesday Night Atari Chat! That's right, the chat room will be back, new and improved. Things are going to look very different. Things will look and feel different in the forums. The forums will be "under construction" for a while, while we dial things in.

Wednesday Night Atari Chat returns to the forums! Within a few weeks of our new chat room opening Wednesday Night Atari Chat will be back, hosted by Justin, btbfilms76, and The Professor. You might see DeLorean, Doctor Octagon, and Museum Matt pop in too! Expect NEW games, contests, events and trivia nights to be back later this summer or fall.

We care very much about your experience in the Atari I/O Forums, and we’re looking at all options to make the new chat room bigger and better than ever before. You choose to spend time here and we want it to feel like home. A big part of what has made this community so special was the chat room and the events held there. We want to get it right.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU KNOW YOUR CURRENT LOGIN AND PASSWORD. Write it down somewhere and keep it safe. Captcha is offline until the upgrade. If you forgot your password and need to reset it, send me a PM and we will reset it for you. Also make sure to back up any important files, contacts or information you have stored in PMs, galleries or posted in the forums.  NOW is the time to take care of this. Don’t wait!

We may experience some interruptions during the upgrade. The forums may be inaccessible for short periods of time, member pips (rankings) may disappear briefly, and things could feel unfamiliar. Captcha is offline. Expect the unexpected.

    PHASE I: FORUMS UPGRADE
    (Over the coming weeks)
Our forums upgrade will take place over the coming weeks. The big switchover will happen mostly at once, with fine tuning and new features coming online as we dial things in.

    PHASE II: NEW CHAT ROOM
    (In time for summer)
A new chat room will open in the forums following completion of the upgrade. Within a few weeks of the new chat room opening, Wednesday Night Atari Chat will begin with weekly hosted events by Justin, btbfilms76, and The Professor. We’re lining up new trivia events, contests and prizes to follow shortly thereafter.

    PHASE III: CUSTOM DESIGN
(TBA - After phase I & II are completed)
Further customization (Time & $$$) of the forums may take place at some point following the completion of our forums upgrade and launch of the new chat room. This will depend on user feedback and our experience with the new forums going forward.

that happened with Dominick's in IL in way after safeway brought us, before that the store had domicks brand items and then after safeway brought it
they replaced the Dominck's brand items with Safeway brand items, and they started to loose business.
thats not the reason they shut down the domincks the fact is that they were already be planned to be brought out by another local chain Jewel
and to avoid the monopoly the closed down Dominicks. but now Jewel is becoming like domicks

    MORE SIGNS

Here are some more signs. These aren't very clear, they're screenshots from home movies from 25 years ago. One is a better shot of the TurboGrafx-16 kiosk sign that I had on my wall, and the other is a blurry image of an Atari Lynx retail shelf strip.

    TurboGrafx-16 Kiosk Sign

This was the plastic sign affixed to the top of the TG-16 kiosk at TRU
I tried to keep the kiosk but they would only give me the sign
This was years before I worked at Toys "R" Us

    Atari Lynx Retail Shelf Strip

This is the plastic strip that goes along the edge of a retail shelf where products are displayed
This was a high quality white plastic strip with the Lynx logo spaced out every few inches
These were very common at Toys "R" Us and other stores
These strips also ran along the rows of yellow tickets that you'd pull to buy your game

    Example of Retail Shelf Strips

This isn't my picture, but it's a good example
You can see Sega Genesis and TurboGrafx-16 shelf strips
They ran across the rows of game tickets in Toys "R" Us

curently there are three atari game systems that have basic complier language (which is basically when you type up a code basic language then you run it into complier to make bin(or rom ) format):
    BatariBasic for 2600:http://atariage.com/forums/forum/65-batari-basic/
    7800 basic for 7800: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/222638-7800basic-beta-the-release-thread/
Raptor Basic + for the Jaguar: http://atariage.com/forums/forum/161-raptor-basic/

I programed in bBasic and its prettty simple I recommend that you get ide V bBasic it will help program a lot faster.
