  1. Not signing up for this until Animal Crossing comes out. I already have all the NES & SNES games I need on my classic consoles.
  2. I'd rather have the arcade Popeye but that probably won't happen due to licensing issues...
  3. On the 2600, I couldn't stand Slot Racers. It had one of the coolest box art of any game to date but the game itself was just plain awful!
  4. Probably the best way to play Neo Geo games (without going into that gray area) is the Nintendo Switch as there is a large number of games available in the eshop (mostly fighters and SHMUPS) but still no Viewpoint which is my favorite that I've play of those...
  5. Pretty much what is stated above. It's not worth buying a 'pre-order' which is really a crowdfunding campaign in disguise and not a very good one at that...
  6. Just when I thought this was going to go 'pie in the sky' here comes another 'small' update. We still have no idea what kind of console this is but here's what I'd like it to be. I'd say it's kind of like the retro consoles released by Nintendo and AtGames but taking it a step further. I would hope that it came with pre-loaded Atari classics spanning from the 2600, 5200 and on at least through the 7800. Maybe throw in some arcade games as well. Owners may have the option to purchase and download licensed games such as Space Invaders, and other games not created by Atari originally. In the past, only Atari 2600 games were available in retro collections so this does have potential appeal for many on this forum. We shall see...
  7. Ok, after getting hold of an old POS HP desktop, I hacked both my NES & SNES classic consoles. I just opened the 16-bit Pandora's box. I'm currently playing Terranigma (using Retroarch), which was never released stateside. Then on to Seiken Densetsu 3 (Secret of Mana 2) which I've been longing to play for 20 years. Not to mention tons of quirky but entertaining obscure Japanese titles (some of which came with English patches)... The SuperNES games for the most part hold up well today more than most consoles...
  8. Finished this a couple days ago (kind of late) as I was busy with Super Mario Odyssey. A worthy season but binge watching these shows feels ridiculous since it will be another year for another few 'lost' hours. Binging through all of Game of Thrones a couple months ago was even more painful...
  9. I remember that well. The must fun part about it was pressing the # button, then it would malfunction and the speech synthesis would produce some very interesting and hilarious garbled speech sound effects...
  10. Where I grew up, there was Toys R Us and Child World close by but this was the place all the kids wanted to go to...
  11. If & when I get mine updated once I get a hold of a PC, two of my most wanted are not currently compatible but that could change with an updated release. Those would be Terranigma (a European PAL only release) and Seiken Densetsu 3 (Secret of Mana 2, Japan only release but there's an English patch). However there's plenty others I would upload that do work. I can't get enough of the Super NES RPGs. I'm still knee deep in FF3 which still can hold my attention better than many other current generation games...
  12. I so want to do this but the problem is that I have no working PC at home since my 8+ year old laptop 'died' last year. My iPad has been my 'default' PC/media device since then as I didn't feel like blowing $1,000+ on something that will only last a few years...
  13. Use brickseek.com (only works for Walmart & Target though). It's how I found mine last Friday...
  14. I got one but it wasn't easy. I went to Walmart (24 hours) the night before but none of the stores in the area (SW Florida) had gotten any of their shipments in. I somehow got the last one at one of the nearby Target stores after work. I've mostly been playing Final Fantasy 3 on it since. Lots of great games on it...
  15. I'm too much of a cheap ass to pay for 'another' subscriber service. From what I hearing, it just seems like a rip off of Star Trek even though it carries the name. I may check it out if it comes to Netflix. In the meantime, if I want that, I can watch 'The Orville' for no additional cost.
  16. Hmmm, thanks for the heads-up. It isn't too often when gaming conventions come down here to FL even though Orlando is over 2 hours away from me.
  17. Somehow I got one for Christmas but I know a lot of people who couldn't find one but even with Nintendo's recent announcement that they're going to continue producing these, many of them are still showing Nintendo their middle fingers...
  18. H.E.R.O. would belong on my list too but I didn't play that on Atari as I had the Apple II version. Very underrated game.
  19. In no particular order Adventure Pitfall Pitfall II Demon Attack Megamania Asteroids Space Invaders Berzerk Yar's Revenge Missile Command
  20. I had the original 6 switch unit. Later on a friend in the 'hood' got one of the newer 4 switch models (2 switches in the back). It was lighter than mine and seem of a cheaper/less quality build...
  21. I love Jeff MInter's games. He had some great ones on the iOS store (Gridrunner being my favorite) but they were pulled sadly due to lack of sales. TxK is great too if you have a Vita. A fully blown console (or PC) edition would be great...
  22. The Sears where I grew up disappeared back in the 80's. It was my favorite department store growing up as we used to make our Christmas lists using the annual Wishbooks that came out. Actually they moved to the local mall up until the early 2000's (southside Chicago area). There's still a Sears store where I live now (SW Florida) and it does well since there isn't another one close by but then again this area does far better in retail than the shabby south side of Chicago...
  23. Asteroids Tempest Space Duel (why was this not mentioned? The arcade version had great bass sound which is hard to duplicate in the recent home conversions even with a decent sound system) Millipede Star Wars (sit down version)
