This is cool, thank you for posting.  But, of course, annoying me, I have a question.

It looks like the only way to download the entire set is to do a "Torrent".  I have never done that.  Is there a Torrent app for Windows 10 that anyone would recommend?  Is there an easier way that I haven't thought of?

As for your Torrent query. Heh, this is a whole new area but honestly gives you a access to a vast archive of files. I don't care what others do anymore than they should care what I do BUT I would only suggest, and I know that is not your intent, avoid Torrenting big entertainment that music / movie / game companies might not be to happy about. I DON'T  want this turning into the big debate of discussion on torrent laws, morals etc, in fact I WILL remove any further comments if anyone goes off on their view of using a torrent client so let's just stay on topic after this 😉 but I would feel irresponsible of me to at least touch on the OBVIOUS and say stay away from movies / TV shows / Music and those are the things the big companies get the most protective over. That all said, 30 year old videogames, roms, manuals, books, text AND OF COURSE anything that falls under OPEN SOURCE or is clearly created originally for the source of sharing or being FREE knock yourself out. Lots of Linux distro for example offer torrents of their work.

You will i need need a torrent "client" to make sense of a torrent file regardless of what it contains. My personal favorite go to is qBittorrent after trying many over the years. That is just my opinion. Short story, download and install client, most things are configured automatically (you don't want to mess with defaults until you know exactly what you are doing but I have never really found reason to do so anyways) once installed it should automate the handling of the torrent file, sometimes just clicking the file will open the client, sometimes the actually torrent file will download (it's tiny) and you will have to click on it afterwards to engage the client, always just carefully read and follow instruction the first time you click on a torrent file, your browser my just pop up the option asking you if you want the client to open it and "remember" that choice. Other than THAT, and I am not being cheeky here but I simply give you  link to THIS article, a fairly recent Beginners guide to torrenting by Lifehacker: https://lifehacker.com/a-beginners-guide-to-bittorrent-285489

They include the info and links to clients, welcome to the club.

  2. Excited? Naw, pretty case and that is about it, has been a shitshow from the start with the people behind it dodging questions, talking around things instead of direct, deleting posts and comments not in their favor (by their favor I mean ass kissing and just buying everything they say without question) as well the capabilities and what would be included as promised from the start has been reduced etc. It literally offers nothing besides  pretty case, the Atari "VAULT" which has been available for ages on other platforms and lately it seems no unique games or titles at launch instead pushing the narrative "YOU are the developer!" 😜. Even if backers receive one it likely will be nothing more than something for die hard Atari collectors to say "Look what I got! Official ATARI console, look it has a logo and everything!" and then it will sit on the shelf collecting dust. Anyone who has been following this AtariVCS campaign form the start seems to fall into two camps: 1. WTH? This is getting worse all the time ! or 2. OMG! ATARI! GIMMIE GIMMIE! Atari is coming back to change gaming you all! Wait and see! Wait and see!!!!!!!

Now, being a 52 year old who recalls the history of videogaming from pretty much the start and seen many promises and campaigns and launches that fail or turn out to be vaporware you can guess which side of the fence I am on 😆 As I said , it has a pretty case but even for what it offers, if they DO actually deliver it into backers hands, there is nothing special here other than maybe a logo (for whatever you think an official Atari logo means to you these days, here's a hint, NOT MUCH) it is just another under powered little box that will barely run it's OS, it will be just enough to run what it needs to effectively, nothing groundbreaking. If that is worth it to someone for the money well have at it.

That's Seaquest.  And I just now noticed the "Vader" unit on the right of the girl.  I also wonder what tape she's suppose to be listening to in that cassette player?  I should have a cassette player close to that here somewhere I repaired.  Was the environment suppose to be a repair shop, science lab, or Radio Shack?

From the dialogue I was getting that the guy owned some kind of electronics shop, this was the back where they did repairs I think, he refereed to it as his shop as he was leaving her in charge while he was gone. Here is another grab I did.

  4. So I was watching a cheesy horror flick Monster Shark (1984), hey it's the Mystery Science Theater 3000 riffed version so that's my excuse 😉 when about 10 minutes in I spot a character playing, or pretending to play an Atari 2600 game. Pretty sure it's Activision SeaQuest. Anyways, just thought that was cool, I know there were obvious and well known examples of 2600 games appearing in shows/movies but this one caught me off guard and I thought might be more obscure. 🕹🎬🎥🎞

  6. Well today I finally got some time with the modded PS3 and everything went great! Installed and updated LAST OF US and Max Payne 3 onto my modded PS3 Hard drive (Thanks JAKE !) and after watching a tutorial video on Youtube I transferred the game Silent Hill Homecoming (I had previously been playing it in an PS3 emulator) from USB stick to the PS3 HDD, everything running and working great! That will keep me going for sometime! After just starting the first level of Max Payne 3 it is clear I am going to have to get use to the controls, my reflexes are not what they use to be!

HERE is a quick picture I took transferring a original retail game to the internal PS3 Hard drive, took like 45 min but I guess copying 40 gb from a BluRay is going to be like that. Well worth the end result though as the game installed and I was even able to update it once it was on the internal drive.

Having a modded PS3 definitely rocks !update

I have Max Payne 3 for 360.  Awesome game.  For me it took some time for things to get going and for it to keep my interest so give the first part a bit of patients.  After that the game is non-stop pretty much.  The Last of Us I've never played but have heard a LOT about it.  It's one of my must have titles should I ever get a PS3.

Ah good to know, I will keep it in mind. I loved the first two Max Payne games on PC. Yeah I am pretty stoked to get some PS3 gaming time hopefully soon!

  8. Indeed, I had a little black box with composite cable in and out, in from playback VCR and out to recording VCR (audio cable passed directly between machines) known as a Macro-eliminator it was pretty much plug and play and did exactly as described. i would rent all the latest hit movies and copy away. 😎Good times. It was just like the one pictured below.

  9. Currently  am using a Geforce 1060 6 gb, no complaints here. Honestly I am an Nvidia guy so cannot say much about ATI. Either way if you go Nvidia you should get a 1050ti minimum, keep in mind whenever a game lists minimum specs that means it will load and run but wont necessarily be that enjoyable / playable so always go above to give yourself a little more headroom, that will save you much frustration. Personally I tend to just go by recommended specs as the "minimum".

  10. We watched and absolutely love the series, it just got better every episode and Jon Favreau has already announced season 2 for fall 2020 woo hoo! Sure there's a lot of fan service and I certainly don't mind that but so many call backs to series characters, honestly this is the most Star Wars feeling thing Disney has put out.

😮😎Recently I had the luck of winning a very special prize from YouTuber Blaine Locklair !
Check out Blaine's Channel for the best in Restoration, Repairs and Mods HERE:
    https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCc16nxCRvhba37wzU2eVS2Q

!!!! WARNING !!!! Expect my usual babbling and going off in tangents during my video,
I do eventually get around to the "unveiling" but if you want to get right to that skip to around
the 6 min  40 sec mark. I was so excited, happy and grateful when Blaine messaged to inform
me of winning this prize which is not only an amazing addition to my gaming collection but
actually something that I have never played let alone owned.

  12. Jabbering on about first snowfall, decorations, secure PC disposal.

Just off the top of my head, unplanned, decided to take video while I do my rounds out in the first real snowfall here this winter. Somehow I get onto the topic of PC security and secure disposal of computers. NOTE: a resident approaches near the end hence my change in attitude.

  13. NOT MINE ! I thought those here who do not visit Atariage may not be aware of this release. I think this game looks and form the description SOUNDS pretty damn good so if you are interested in getting your hands on the ROM to check it out yourself here is a link to the source thread over on AA.

    https://atariage.com/forums/topic/298966-the-end-2600-new-homebrew-game/

Below I have pasted the screen shot as well as the description from the creators post HOWEVER I have not linked the roms, I think it only fair if you

want to get those at the very least you can go to the original thread to obtain the roms and give a LIKE or comment some appreciation. 😉😎

as such things should be encouraged.

    Hello all !

Here is a new homebrew game I made for the Atari 2600 that I named THE END 2600.
It is based on the 1980 Konami version of the arcade game THE END.

Attached you will find the release candidate #1 of this game in NTSC and PAL60 versions.

    OBJECTIVE:
To destroy aliens attempting to steal bricks from your defense bases.
The aliens will arrange stolen bricks to spell out  "END" at the top of the screen.
You start the game with 3 spaceships.
An extra ship will be awarded when you reach 5,000 points.
Use your joystick to move your spaceship left of right and press the button to fire to the aliens.
Game is over when all your spaceships are destroyed or "END" is spelled out by the aliens.

    THE POINTS:
Each alien destroyed scores 40, 60 or 100 points.
Destroying aliens carrying a stolen brick scores double.
Destroying MotherShip scores 10 to 100 points plus the same amount awarded for each brick needed to spell out "END"

    ANOTHER DETAILS:
Each level is represented by a "wave".
Every 5 "waves", the MotherShip will come down to attack your spaceship. If you destroy it, a "round" of 5 "waves" will be completed.
When a new "round" begins, the aliens with have to start spelling "END" all over again.

The game is complete and fully playable.
It has 40 levels and is fast and very challenging.

The game is not exactly in graphics as the arcade version but the gameplay is. Also I have added some animations that are not in the arcade.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it !
Please tell me your feedback about the game and let me know if the game is too easy or too hard or if you find any bugs in the game.

Let's see those high scores !!
