  1. It DID occur to me lack of participation may be down to many not having photos / Polaroids in digital format available for posting and no easily accessible scanner to consider doing so and with that in mind just a thought........

These days for the most part one could likely use a tablet or phone camera as these are so common to just take a picture of an original photo or Polaroid, MY image I started with was actually just taken with an older tablet camera of a Polaroid. IF any of you have a photo in mind consider that method, just be wary of reflective light and FOCUS as much as possible, I think you might be surprised how easily this can be done. I am considering doing some more of my own this way 😛

  2. Dug this up just now and thought this might make for something different.

Post a photo / picture / image that you are in showing something silly, fun, retro etc.

I'll kick off with this one -

Here's me at 16 getting a promo Polaroid picture before seeing JAWS. Honestly, I love this shot and there is as far as I am concerned only one embarrassing thing about it, IT WAS FOR JAWS 3 ! 😂🙄

  3. I had just made a topic about the trailer when I noticed this thread so I will simply paste my reaction.

Happy for actor Alex Winter, nice Keanu remembers the movie that helped launch his career, yes he did other things before but let's face it average person thinks of Bill & Ted. PARTY ON DUDES ! 🎸🥳

  4. YES it's big and crazy but I loved that about it 😆

Mine is an original 4-port which I love but I believe it had the mod done to work with those couple games that caused issues if memory serves. It's in great condition, I immediately purchased a BEST ELECTRONICS refurbished controller. Despite all the complaints of the original controller I get it, for certain games though it seems decent, not so much for others. I REALLY need to get around to cleaning my 5200 trakball one day as it did not seem to work great with the little testing I did. I have a Atarimax flashcart (USB type) but I do have several original carts. I think I got a nice full package deal some years back I could not resist, I did purposely choose the original 4 port, my only experience with it back in the day is a friends dad had one but NO ONE WAS ALLOWED TO PLAY IT 😛 I also have the 2600 adapter, 2 actually, one stock and one that has been modded to work either connected to the 5200 OR as a standalone 2600 console, I really hope to get around to do some up to date videos on it all again someday, here is a couple of my old videos on it:

Here I talk about getting a 5200 soon! This was, my god...9 years ago!

First hook up and testing of the 5200 and some games !

My nice refurbished 5200 controller unboxing from BEST ELECTRONICS.

    Atarimax 5200 multicart

Testing the ,multicart, refurbished controller and even a PC joystick adapter !

  5. Just having fun here, ATARI was king back in the day, hell must have been a blast to work there in the early days (we've heard the stories) but commercials like THIS you'd likely never see today 😆😆

I mean, I LOVE IT but the ending especially did kind of make me go WTF? 😜😆 Nothing was too insane or out there back in the day, would love to have been a fly on the wall during these marketing pitches!

    Bless'em, I MISS those days!

  6. It is funny though I do not watch many of my favorite TV shows I grew up with how hearing one of those opening intro themes one is instantly taken back! . A few immediately come to mind, my god within the first note or two I would instantly turn my head towards the TV 😆

Not often heard but WITH LYRICS ! 😮👍

  7. So THIS just popped up in my subscribed videos thread and honestly, I would actually consider getting this. At least it seems to know what it is and I would definitely choose it over the AtariVCS (To be clear I speak of the new modern AtariVCS offering we've yet to see anyone actually receive, you would have to pry any of my original Atari VCS consoles from my cold dead hands ! 😆😜 ). Hell, maybe just get the AtariVCS shell and stick THIS inside? 🤔😜New Micro Center Raspberry Pi Retro Gaming Kit with 100 Licensed ATARI Games!

    You look great here Rob!

Hah thanks, well I was 10 years younger and quite a bit heavier! 😆😜🤔But, these are the Youtube days I miss. Doing real video responses etc. I like looking at the people that commented back then and the stories people shared. Also me watching is like literally seeing myself say and do things I barely recall since it's all off the top of my head. I amuse myself often.

  9. Blast from the past! WOW! 😛😆😎One thing leads to another and I came across THIS fun old video where I responded to some video game related questions. I am always amused particularly because I just don't remember videos I did like this 10 years ago, mostly because I just answer off the top of my head, fun to see my answers and what I was into at the time, who I was responding to and connected with etc. Just sharing some fun little stories but interesting if anyone wants to answer the same questions today. 😃

What is the strangest place you have played a video game?
What is the longest you've attempted to repair a computer/console non-stop?
Have you ever had nightmares about games?
Have you ever played a game that was too scary to play?

This is cool, thank you for posting.  But, of course, annoying me, I have a question.

It looks like the only way to download the entire set is to do a "Torrent".  I have never done that.  Is there a Torrent app for Windows 10 that anyone would recommend?  Is there an easier way that I haven't thought of?

As for your Torrent query. Heh, this is a whole new area but honestly gives you a access to a vast archive of files. I don't care what others do anymore than they should care what I do BUT I would only suggest, and I know that is not your intent, avoid Torrenting big entertainment that music / movie / game companies might not be to happy about. I DON'T  want this turning into the big debate of discussion on torrent laws, morals etc, in fact I WILL remove any further comments if anyone goes off on their view of using a torrent client so let's just stay on topic after this 😉 but I would feel irresponsible of me to at least touch on the OBVIOUS and say stay away from movies / TV shows / Music and those are the things the big companies get the most protective over. That all said, 30 year old videogames, roms, manuals, books, text AND OF COURSE anything that falls under OPEN SOURCE or is clearly created originally for the source of sharing or being FREE knock yourself out. Lots of Linux distro for example offer torrents of their work.

You will i need need a torrent "client" to make sense of a torrent file regardless of what it contains. My personal favorite go to is qBittorrent after trying many over the years. That is just my opinion. Short story, download and install client, most things are configured automatically (you don't want to mess with defaults until you know exactly what you are doing but I have never really found reason to do so anyways) once installed it should automate the handling of the torrent file, sometimes just clicking the file will open the client, sometimes the actually torrent file will download (it's tiny) and you will have to click on it afterwards to engage the client, always just carefully read and follow instruction the first time you click on a torrent file, your browser my just pop up the option asking you if you want the client to open it and "remember" that choice. Other than THAT, and I am not being cheeky here but I simply give you  link to THIS article, a fairly recent Beginners guide to torrenting by Lifehacker: https://lifehacker.com/a-beginners-guide-to-bittorrent-285489

They include the info and links to clients, welcome to the club.

  11. Excited? Naw, pretty case and that is about it, has been a shitshow from the start with the people behind it dodging questions, talking around things instead of direct, deleting posts and comments not in their favor (by their favor I mean ass kissing and just buying everything they say without question) as well the capabilities and what would be included as promised from the start has been reduced etc. It literally offers nothing besides  pretty case, the Atari "VAULT" which has been available for ages on other platforms and lately it seems no unique games or titles at launch instead pushing the narrative "YOU are the developer!" 😜. Even if backers receive one it likely will be nothing more than something for die hard Atari collectors to say "Look what I got! Official ATARI console, look it has a logo and everything!" and then it will sit on the shelf collecting dust. Anyone who has been following this AtariVCS campaign form the start seems to fall into two camps: 1. WTH? This is getting worse all the time ! or 2. OMG! ATARI! GIMMIE GIMMIE! Atari is coming back to change gaming you all! Wait and see! Wait and see!!!!!!!

Now, being a 52 year old who recalls the history of videogaming from pretty much the start and seen many promises and campaigns and launches that fail or turn out to be vaporware you can guess which side of the fence I am on 😆 As I said , it has a pretty case but even for what it offers, if they DO actually deliver it into backers hands, there is nothing special here other than maybe a logo (for whatever you think an official Atari logo means to you these days, here's a hint, NOT MUCH) it is just another under powered little box that will barely run it's OS, it will be just enough to run what it needs to effectively, nothing groundbreaking. If that is worth it to someone for the money well have at it.

That's Seaquest.  And I just now noticed the "Vader" unit on the right of the girl.  I also wonder what tape she's suppose to be listening to in that cassette player?  I should have a cassette player close to that here somewhere I repaired.  Was the environment suppose to be a repair shop, science lab, or Radio Shack?

From the dialogue I was getting that the guy owned some kind of electronics shop, this was the back where they did repairs I think, he refereed to it as his shop as he was leaving her in charge while he was gone. Here is another grab I did.

  13. So I was watching a cheesy horror flick Monster Shark (1984), hey it's the Mystery Science Theater 3000 riffed version so that's my excuse 😉 when about 10 minutes in I spot a character playing, or pretending to play an Atari 2600 game. Pretty sure it's Activision SeaQuest. Anyways, just thought that was cool, I know there were obvious and well known examples of 2600 games appearing in shows/movies but this one caught me off guard and I thought might be more obscure. 🕹🎬🎥🎞

  14. My current iPad wallpaper 😃

😮 ! THIS THREAD STARTED AS FOR DESKTOP WALLPAPERS but since it's been quiet for some time I changed it to wallpapers for devices of any sort,

desktop, mobile (iPhone / iPAD / Android) etc. So feel free to post your current or favorite Wallpaper / Background for ANY computer or device ! 😉👍

  15. Well today I finally got some time with the modded PS3 and everything went great! Installed and updated LAST OF US and Max Payne 3 onto my modded PS3 Hard drive (Thanks JAKE !) and after watching a tutorial video on Youtube I transferred the game Silent Hill Homecoming (I had previously been playing it in an PS3 emulator) from USB stick to the PS3 HDD, everything running and working great! That will keep me going for sometime! After just starting the first level of Max Payne 3 it is clear I am going to have to get use to the controls, my reflexes are not what they use to be!

HERE is a quick picture I took transferring a original retail game to the internal PS3 Hard drive, took like 45 min but I guess copying 40 gb from a BluRay is going to be like that. Well worth the end result though as the game installed and I was even able to update it once it was on the internal drive.

Having a modded PS3 definitely rocks !update

I have Max Payne 3 for 360.  Awesome game.  For me it took some time for things to get going and for it to keep my interest so give the first part a bit of patients.  After that the game is non-stop pretty much.  The Last of Us I've never played but have heard a LOT about it.  It's one of my must have titles should I ever get a PS3.

Ah good to know, I will keep it in mind. I loved the first two Max Payne games on PC. Yeah I am pretty stoked to get some PS3 gaming time hopefully soon!
