Glad he had a good long life and a long marriage of 67 years! RIP. I enjoyed him even before that great Star Trek role in original Twilight Zone and Outer Limits episodes.

Thanks much appreciated. I pulled this shirt out of a bottom drawer, not worn for years as I put it away when it was too...er, snug but now fits great again! I was so happy I had to take a pic 😃whatever other health issues at least I still been maintaining a slow but steady weight loss.

Nothing at all really. 😎Some might have a serious account, I guess my Rob / MaximumRd would be that, then maybe a 2nd account to promote other interests? A third account, maybe for business? again no idea, I just figured what the hell. Also, some may use multiple accounts to see which one seems to attract attention they are looking for, like depending on the look or hobbies attached you might notice a particular one "take off" so you can stick with that one and focus on it. For me personally I typically like a second account for any particular social media platform in case something happens to the main account. For example FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON I keep getting booted off INSTAGRAM, always says my account has been blocked due to suspicious activity etc, this is of course nonsense but I've been locked out of like 6 accounts within 5 months. I always use super strong passwords, create a basic account and barely use it 🤷♂️the issue makes no sense as I've had no issues with my Facebook or other social media accounts, Facebook owns Instagram yet Facebook has never given me an issue. I still have a spare Facebook account just in case my main ever gets locked.

Since it’s Sunday and I am doing laundry I thus decree that today shall be known henceforth as laundry/8 bit Nintendo day! 😝😎🧐
-
Hi @MaximumRD, it's funny you say that!! Sunday is typically laundry / 8-bit Nintendo day for me as well. Laundry can be too quiet for me, almost like meditation or swimming under water. I decided doing laundry would be a nice time to listen to some good podcasts. I clearly remember one Sunday in 2009 you recommended that I check out the Retroist Podcast, that I would enjoy it. This was around the time that I had the YouTube videos, usually with an 8-Bit Nintendo game over my shoulder on the TV set behind me. I started listening to The Retroist regularly, and Sunday turned into a "treat" I would look forward to. After a while, that became a big inspiration for me to create Atari I/O and the Forums.

So, going through some storage boxes I find a nice blue Konami Justifier pistol clearly for the SNES, I was pretty excited but after some research it seems the ONLY compatible game if LETHAL ENFORCERS? REALLY? Seems like such a missed opportunity! 😮🙁

Some sushi, a beer and then a nice long nap. Oddly, five days after my Pfizer vaccination I think I felt a few affects today, in the span of about 10 to 15 minutes I had dizziness / lightheaded, hot flash, instant poop, not diarrhoea thank goodness but let’s just say it all came out rapidly (fear not I was already on the toilet) dry heaves but I didn’t throw up thankfully, tingly feeling in my hands and forearm, and afterwords all my symptoms seem to subside as quickly as they had hit me. Physically now Feel perfectly fine, we had to run around and do a few errands I just feel, you know, out of sorts, like not fully focused, that floaty feeling, like that out of body type experience where you feel like you’re seeing through the eyes of somebody else but otherwise fine. No more nausea no more sweats, so yeah I will finish this and just have a nice long nap and then I’m sure once I wake up and I will feel my old self again.

First shot 5 days ago - UPDATE : Well after this I slept for like 12 hours, got up a couple times to pee, considered getting up half way but thought well, I will just lay down again and see what happens and yeah seems I needed more 😆so roughly 12 hours sleep but I think I am back to my usual self now, no more brain fog or out of sorts, just needed proper rest to recover. Hope it's over at least until the next Pfizer follow up shot, 🙂

😛Quiet night here....how you all doing?

It's been a quiet few days (online) for me. I cannot bring myself to post another message in the new section. What fun is it to talk to an empty room, or one where no one replies?

Thank you, I tend to not see anything I do as special but I do appreciate the compliments. I used to draw comics in school and high school of me and my friends, over the years through various hardships and mental issues I just abandoned it but having recently been gifted the Apple Pencil / iPad min 5 by my wife I been having fun rediscovering my creative side, I probably knocked this out in about 10 or 12 minutes or so and yes it was just off the top of my head thinking I would just draw Spidey. Though I am not too familiar with the various modern drawing tools and apps, back in my teen and young adult years I played around with Deluxe Paint and Brilliance on the AMIGA I had back then, art , animation and even basic titling for my home videos I outputted to composite to my VCR. Good times.
I once even drew a image of the Danny Devito Penguin from BATMAN RETURNS with nothing but Deluxe Paint and a standard tank style ball mouse, took me forever but I was quite proud how it came out but sadly lost over the years, but I figured if I managed THAT with such basic tools surely an iPad with Pencil would allow more creative freedom though there is something to be said with creating something identifiable and creative with lesser tools for sure.
Anyway, I AM having fun at least trying to be creative again, I will add anything else I do here for sure, I think it is a good outlet mentally as well, thanks for noticing. I think I WILL get better, I been using a basic tool in one of the apps that I enjoy as these images are never exactly as I picture them, this tool basically if you can imagine creating lines and when they connect the fill in making a solid line, I KNOW REAL ARTIST and digital experts would explain this better, I might do a short demo video at some point, anyway when the lines / shapes I make fill they create the outlines of the image I am trying to create, though I never know exactly the result I been quite impressed and happy with how they turn out, having multiple points of "UNDO" is truly amazing as well. I am also using only free or limited apps to do these, I am thinking though soon I will move on to the apps and tools that truly mimic the pencil to paper experience, with multiple levels of pressure sensitivity and even tilt control with the edge of the pencil for fine shading I have been so impressed with how close it is to the real thing. I really am having fun learning these tools, again I probably should have explored digital art more than a decade ago but I just did not really have the means. I guess it's really never too late though. I will get better.

Honestly my first video in a LONG time I have put effort into. Wanted this one to be special for all the classic competing fans . A tour of the U.S.S. Midway's Navigational computers featuring Univac, tape drives and ancient storage technologies. http://forums.atari.io/index.php/topic/39-maximumrds-youtube-videos/?do=findComment&comment=18257

It is funny how often I forget to fire up MAME to compare the arcade version of home ports, soooo many great arcade classics at our disposal in MAME. It is always interesting to see how different the original arcade version is since those were typically designed to challenge you to keep trying while consuming your coins and so home versions though maybe not always comparable graphically sometimes made up for it with additional features. I will definitely check out the link you mentioned. All these arcade games at my disposal, literally thousands so no matter how many times I fire it up even after all these years there is always something new to check out or great classics to re-experience. Puzzle, side scrolling shooters, racing, fighting, obscure Japanese and even clone and knock off games, though I COULD do without all the Mahjong titles I don't need.

Playing MAME on desktop and thinking "WHY THE HELL DON'T I DO THIS MORE OFTEN?" 😀😎
-
I go back to it every so often, it is a funny reminder that even though I was pretty much a videogame console player that there are some major differences when compared to original arcade versions. I mean pretty much from NES onward (well even before that Colecovision) it felt like having the "arcade" at home but then you load up MAME and suddenly it's like a slap in the face in comparison, especially with a lot of NES ports, or EVEN Sega Genesis you realize damn the arcade game had even bigger sprites and more frenzied action. I mean sure the Arcade game dynamic sometimes would not work as well and was changed to suit a home console but in some cases it was definitely changes due to limitations. I was playing some of the Golden Axe sequels and was surprised how different it felt, sometimes it is just a different color palette but it is definitely nice to go back and experience versions closer to the Arcade.
