Heh THANKS JUSTIN, well honestly I wanted to uploads SOMETHING and tried to come up with something that I could do quickly mostly because my last couple videos prior where like 6 months ago back in MARCH. Now I had the Grizzly Addams full beard with lots of gray 😆in it, starting to look like the hermit I mostly am but after shaving it down to a goatee I thought it looked much better at least even if I haven't had a haircut since before the whole Virus thing started, we avoid going out and with Melissa working from home YOU MIGHT THINK if anything that would give me more time to organize my thoughts, get my head together and plan and make videos.....WELL WHEN YOUR WIFE IS WORKING FROM HOME AND YOU ARE AROUND EACH OTHER 24/7 EVERY WAKING MOMENT believe me that is not the case 😏, barely a moment to myself these days let alone enough to put together and upload a video 😜I KID, MOSTLY..........no I'm not, HELP ME......😩

  4. Went through my older handhelds to show someone I still had a Dingoo handheld (the smallest here) it was among some of my past favorites. Took this picture a couple hours ago. Shown here is my Dingoo a320 (middle) dual boots with Dingux Linux, also my GP2X Caanoo my favorite (bottom) as well the OpenPandora (Top) which was amazing for the time 😎👍

I remember when you got that Caanoo and the OpenPandora and how exciting that was!

Very cool I wanted the Game Park handhelds, but too pricey for me back when they released. I don't remember the Open Pandora though. Only up to the Canoo. I was doing development for the Gameboy Advance when the first GP handheld came out, so that was interesting it was similar, but a bit more powerful.

FleshChasmer is a great game for the hardware.

I've never heard of that.  I need to try that out.  Thanks!

I have an old Windows 7 Dell "Studio" laptop.  Super high quality from the early 2000's.  I took the time a few days ago to replace the HDD with a brand new 240GB SSD.  It's fast now, and I've been using it a lot.

Note my current profile pic as well using one of the filters. It's fun play around with. of silly filters ad regardless of the quality of your webcam, in fact it's a good use especially if you have a lower quality webcam in some ways. Just click allow when it asks for permission to use your webcam and it will work fine. It was a really nice option for free especially back in the day when we might not of had so many options for webcam software but even now I like to tinker with it when I'm bored, a fun lo-fi experience. Share some results with that Dell 😉

Thank you, I tend to not see anything I do as special but I do appreciate the compliments. I used to draw comics in school and high school of me and my friends, over the years through various hardships and mental issues I just abandoned it but having recently been gifted the Apple Pencil / iPad min 5 by my wife I been having fun rediscovering my creative side, I probably knocked this out in about 10 or 12 minutes or so and yes it was just off the top of my head thinking I would just draw Spidey. Though I am not too familiar with the various modern drawing tools and apps, back in my teen and young adult years I played around with Deluxe Paint and Brilliance on the AMIGA I had back then, art , animation and even basic titling for my home videos I outputted to composite to my VCR. Good times.

I once even drew a image of the Danny Devito Penguin from BATMAN RETURNS with nothing but Deluxe Paint and a standard tank style ball mouse, took me forever but I was quite proud how it came out but sadly lost over the years, but I figured if I managed THAT with such basic tools surely an iPad with Pencil would allow more creative freedom though there is something to be said with creating something identifiable and creative with lesser tools for sure.

Anyway, I AM having fun at least trying to be creative again, I will add anything else I do here for sure, I think it is a good outlet mentally as well, thanks for noticing. I think I WILL get better, I been using a basic tool in one of the apps that I enjoy as these images are never exactly as I picture them, this tool basically if you can imagine creating lines and when they connect the fill in making a solid line, I KNOW REAL ARTIST and digital experts would explain this better, I might do a short demo video at some point, anyway when the lines / shapes I make fill they create the outlines of the image I am trying to create, though I never know exactly the result I been quite impressed and happy with how they turn out, having multiple points of "UNDO" is truly amazing as well. I am also using only free or limited apps to do these, I am thinking though soon I will move on to the apps and tools that truly mimic the pencil to paper experience, with multiple levels of pressure sensitivity and even tilt control with the edge of the pencil for fine shading I have been so impressed with how close it is to the real thing. I really am having fun learning these tools, again I probably should have explored digital art more than a decade ago but I just did not really have the means. I guess it's really never too late though. I will get better.

  10. FINALLY after like a year, cut my hair....I didn't go anywhere, got nice Remington hair clippers, didn't even use an attachment, did it all myself with the bare clippers right down, all even, took like maybe 10 minutes? 🙂 OMG FEELS SOOOO MUCH BETTER! ALL THAT HAIR fit in a single little sandwich baggy, funny how hair compresses like that. Now that I have the clippers though I do not plan to EVER let it get that long again! My wife loves my hair like this.....she says Hi....

  11. It is funny how often I forget to fire up MAME to compare the arcade version of home ports, soooo many great arcade classics at our disposal in MAME. It is always interesting to see how different the original arcade version is since those were typically designed to challenge you to keep trying while consuming your coins and so home versions though maybe not always comparable graphically sometimes made up for it with additional features. I will definitely check out the link you mentioned. All these arcade games at my disposal, literally thousands so no matter how many times I fire it up even after all these years there is always something new to check out or great classics to re-experience. Puzzle, side scrolling shooters, racing, fighting, obscure Japanese and even clone and knock off games, though I COULD do without all the Mahjong titles I don't need. 😎

I love MAME and all that it offers.  Yet I've always had a few favorites that I just can't get to work correctly (especially controls).  Examples:  Asteroids, PunchOut!, Defender.

yeah works great with my xbox 360 controller but I have not been good configuring stuff like race games that require a wheel or paddle games etc.

  12. Playing MAME on desktop and thinking "WHY THE HELL DON'T I DO THIS MORE OFTEN?" 😀😎

    1. RickR

      RickR

Exactly.  It's my thought every time I think about doing another XBOX/PS2/Wii mod or creating a new Raspberry Pi build.  The desktop PC version is the easiest way to get your emulation fix.

I go back to it every so often, it is a funny reminder that even though I was pretty much a videogame console player that there are some major differences when compared to original arcade versions. I mean pretty much from NES onward (well even before that Colecovision) it felt like having the "arcade" at home but then you load up MAME and suddenly it's like a slap in the face in comparison, especially with a lot of NES ports, or EVEN Sega Genesis you realize damn the arcade game had even bigger sprites and more frenzied action. I mean sure the Arcade game dynamic sometimes would not work as well and was changed to suit a home console but in some cases it was definitely changes due to limitations. I was playing some of the Golden Axe sequels and was surprised how different it felt, sometimes it is just a different color palette but it is definitely nice to go back and experience versions closer to the Arcade.

  21. Doing my ongoing lifetime of sorting through my collection, I just finished putting all my original NES and Super NES hardware, games and accessories and original games all in one big box, at least that I could find at this moment. This does include clone consoles or multi carts just original classic time hardware. There is still space in this box though because I am pretty sure as I go through the rest of my collection I will Be able to add more to this box.
