  1. Been tinkering a bit with ANDROID SUBSYSTEM for Windows. It does NOT use Google Playstore by default but as you can see my version does 😏 Previously, I used some emulators like NOX / BLUESTACKS /LDplayer etc but this seems better with good integration with Windows, for example the ReFace App instantly defaulted to my Desktops Logitech Webcam. I still prefer testing various LINUX distos using Vmware though or older hardware, so I will never use LINUX SUBSYSTEM for Windows and so I have removed that feature.

That's pretty neat.  I imagine the real purpose is to use this to test out android app development.  I may have to give this a try on an old laptop.

From what I have read that DOES seem to be the general use for it or the most suggested, makes sense. I was surprised how well it integrated though and definitely prefer it over stand alone emulators like LDplayer which tend to be chock full of adds etc. as well have origins in China so trustworthiness is dubious at best. Seeing the Reface app automatically pickup my webcam was the clincher for me. Now I am using a hack or patched version which allows Google Playstore just to be clear but I am using an ANDROID account I created originally just of emulation purposes anyway. I am no developer but I just cannot help but test and tinker with such things.

Is Fry's hot cocoa mix just in Canada? I have never heard of it in the United States.

  4. DELETED THREAD - TO BE CLEAR it was ME😎that deleted the Having a bad day Thread or whatever it was with the car crashes / accidents. We don't need that here even under the guise of a positive message of "It could be worse" those type of videos / images are not good for the vibe here on AtariIO, enough of that stuff elsewhere and those type of threads just grow and get out of hand, not the vibe we foster here on AA. I considered just deleting it and letting that be message enough but just for clarity sake as well as credit where it is due, there is nothing to add or respond to on the subject (frankly, if anyone does not like it they can lump it🤷‍♂️) I suggest it's left at that - Keep it light, fun and not at the expense of other's. 😉Have a good one folks. - Sincerely Rob.

  5. DID YOU KNOW? JOHNNY NASH who passed away the other day, while widely known for the hit "I CAN SEE CLEARLY NOW" was also the singer of the THEME SONG for the animated 1963-66 animated show THE MIGHTY HERCULES. 😀

No. I didn't know that he sung the theme song for that cartoon. Interesting… :O)

      Thanks for the factoid. ^_^

Not a fan of the snow myself.

So far (knock on wood), we've had a very mild winter here.  The only snow I see on the forecast is on Sat 1/13, so we shall see.

I've never heard of that.  I need to try that out.  Thanks!

I have an old Windows 7 Dell "Studio" laptop.  Super high quality from the early 2000's.  I took the time a few days ago to replace the HDD with a brand new 240GB SSD.  It's fast now, and I've been using it a lot.

Note my current profile pic as well using one of the filters. It's fun play around with. of silly filters ad regardless of the quality of your webcam, in fact it's a good use especially if you have a lower quality webcam in some ways. Just click allow when it asks for permission to use your webcam and it will work fine. It was a really nice option for free especially back in the day when we might not of had so many options for webcam software but even now I like to tinker with it when I'm bored, a fun lo-fi experience. Share some results with that Dell 😉

  10. Garuda Linux on the DELL laptop, I really like the look of it. 😎

  13. Has there ever been a CLOCKWORK ORANGE based videogame? If not WE NEED IT! Not sure what genre, RPG? SURVIVAL HORROR? How about in VR? Think of the glorious possibilities! 😆😛 OK maybe its just me that wants this....🤷‍♂️

Funny you should say that 😝 as I am JUST getting over some type of Stomach Flu or bug, past 2 weeks it's been just liquids and light foods, I had it BAD, like I actually vomited, last time I vomited from Flu or Virus I was a child as typically I got a cast iron stomach. About a week in I made the mistake of eating too heavily thinking I was mostly better and BAM total relapse, nausea, diarrhea but today woke up feeling I'd say 80% better, so much so I have been in an a productive mood, doing laundry, did dishes, cleaned bedroom night tables and dressers, just thankful to say feeling uncommonly chipper and motivated after being in lazy recovery for too long. Will have a light meal later. So HOPING FINGERS CROSSED I am on the other side of it now. Also from eating like a bird the past week+ I definitely lost extra weight through this time, Melissa has been noticing of late, I am not one to weigh myself and don't even recall the last time I did but out of curiosity I decided to and let's just say I am a couple of pounds less than I ever thought I'd be for what I consider my normal so bonus I guess 🤷‍♂️🤨I recorded it for reference but I am considering it my "sick" weight, will see if I level off or maintain but for now I can easily say I am currently about 30 pounds lighter then when I was pushing maximum density back in 2012 or so before switching to intermittent fasting, cutting out sugars and other lifestyle changes to help with diabetes etc. Gotta take the wins where I can get them these days right?

As Tony the Tiger used to say, "I'm great!"  I got a whole 48 hours to myself with no work, no chores and no social obligations.  I'm gonna eat, sleep, play, print, read and goof off!

Thanks much appreciated. I pulled this shirt out of a bottom drawer, not worn for years as I put it away when it was too...er, snug but now fits great again! I was so happy I had to take a pic 😃whatever other health issues at least I still been maintaining a slow but steady weight loss.

Heh THANKS JUSTIN, well honestly I wanted to uploads SOMETHING and tried to come up with something that I could do quickly mostly because my last couple videos prior where like 6 months ago back in MARCH. Now I had the Grizzly Addams full beard with lots of gray 😆in it, starting to look like the hermit I mostly am but after shaving it down to a goatee I thought it looked much better at least even if I haven't had a haircut since before the whole Virus thing started, we avoid going out and with Melissa working from home YOU MIGHT THINK if anything that would give me more time to organize my thoughts, get my head together and plan and make videos.....WELL WHEN YOUR WIFE IS WORKING FROM HOME AND YOU ARE AROUND EACH OTHER 24/7 EVERY WAKING MOMENT believe me that is not the case 😏, barely a moment to myself these days let alone enough to put together and upload a video 😜I KID, MOSTLY..........no I'm not, HELP ME......😩

  20. I am a day late but Sept 1st was Frankenstein Day!

On this day in 1797, author Mary Shelley was born. 21 years later, she published ‘Frankenstein’ anonymously and over 200 years later, we’re still celebrating Shelley and the legendary Frankenstein!
