Thanks! I'm surprised it fit so well. I doubt I'll actually use the speakers, though I may be tempted one day.
-
I wish I had one...I could annoy everyone on my airplane trip tomorrow with my audiobooks on a speakerhat.

I need new controllers. I'm open to all suggestions.

I'll use your rubber band idea in hopes it will get one of these controllers open. Thanks!
-
I learned that trick from Norm Abram on the PBS show "New Yankee Workshop"....and dad-blast-it, it actually works!
-
I had a little bit of success with that rubber band idea. I managed to open 1 of the 2 Slik Stiks I own. I may just rip apart the other one, I don't know. I also have a Wico bat handle that is a little loose but I'll try to open that one another day.

We are closing in on Episode 71 of Retro With Marco! Tune in TOMORROW NIGHT at 9pm ET when you will see:

The only issue was the lack of a second button, so it used "up" instead or something like that.

I will admit that this new Atari collaboration with Cariuma has me a little intrigued. I own a pair of Cariuma canvas sneakers and they're nice, casual footwear for the summer.

I like the black suede. The ones with no Atari logo confuse me...

The ones with no Atari logo were replaced with the G-FUEL logo 🤣

The black ones have both logos, which I do like.

Cool! I'm definitely planning to get the Amiga Mini. Seems like an easier way to dip my toes in Amiga waters than buying an actual Amiga setup from the get go.
-
I agree this is the way to go to try out the Amiga. But I hope it has some kind of SD card slot or hackability so you can try any game you like.

We're about two hours away from going live! Stop on by at 9pm ET...

This week's show, originally postponed one day, has been postponed until next week. My partner was diagnosed with COVID over the weekend. She does have severe symptoms, fortunately. We also reside in a townhome which affords ample space. So I will be spending this week tending to her and ensuring she regains her health. To that end, she was prescribed Paxlovid and it is helping her recovery.
The new show dates will be Wednesday, October 26 and Wednesday, November 9. I will then take a short break due to personal matters before returning for a show in early-to-mid December which will be the "Season 3" finale. I hope to return in January for the start of "Season 4".
I'll upload a few videos in the meantime, including a head-to-head video which I planned to air as a segment.

@Marco1019 All members are welcome to post retro-related events to the calendar, and you're a member so that means you ☺️ We want to support your show in any way possible. Also, Rick is being humble he's a Constable and can throw people in chat-jail.

I noticed that, which is why I still waited LOL 😉

Rest In Peace, John Madden.
I would have posted this in a forum, but which one? Consider: There is a generation of gamers (and probably non-gamers) who have NO IDEA about John Madden, the NFL analyst whose everyman style and extensive knowledge of football transformed sports broadcasting. Heck, I'm sure the same generation has NO IDEA John Madden won over 100 games in 10 years as the Head Coach of the Oakland Raiders, and did so in an era when the NFL season was only 14 games. (His .759 winning percentage was 2nd all-time when he stepped down as Head Coach.)
Lest we forget the Lite beer commercials!
John Madden Football went from the PC to the Sega Genesis & Super Nintendo to the stratosphere.
What a legacy.
-
From all the reading I've done, the guy we got to know on-the-air was exactly the person he was to those who knew him. Funny, warm, and nice. He loved the game of football and it showed.

He had the ability to take the game of football seriously while not taking himself too seriously. Yet you learned about the game whenever he was in the booth. His pairing with Pat Summerall was not smooth at first (Summerall had a close friendship with his previous partner, Tom Brookshier), but Summerall & Madden became the pre-eminent NFL broadcasting team. If they were calling your team's game on a Sunday, then it's because it meant something. The game became more of an event.

Here's your latest Tournament Roundup! Featuring EverythingC64, ClubVCS, atari.io Squad Challenge, Mamemeister's High Score Kerfuffle, Master System Challenge, & Antstream Arcade!
-
Here's my latest Tournament Roundup which aired during tonight's show! Both Club VCS & Atari.io Squad Challenge were highlighted - @Sabertooth @Justin
-
Here's a new feature which I will upload between shows: It's a tournament & scoring challenge recap from the world of retrogaming, including the Club VCS Reloaded Squad Challenge. It's work in progress but I want to get the debut uploaded. Check it out! (Thanks to GibGirl at Lvl Up Score for the idea!)
-
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I won't be able to showcase every event given that it will be uploaded between shows (though I'll create a new video next Wednesday as the show is off until July 13).

It was a good show last night despite muting my mic late (again) lol! Here's part of the Tournament Roundup segment which featured both Club VCS and the Squad Challenge:
@Sabertooth, @Justin, check it out!
(FYI: The "golden toilet" at the outset refers to the Crap Tournament 14 hosted on CAGTournaments.com. That tournament will feature 12 crappy arcade games.)

Armando Gonzalez has reclaimed the WR for Galaga (Tournament Settings) with a score of 9,525,700! The record run took place earlier in the week but I just learned about it earlier today. Gonzalez topped Mike Thompson's record of 6,679,190 set back in February.

Here's a quick update on the show & my gaming for the near future...
Episode 68 of Retro With Marco will air TONIGHT AT 9PM ET! If you can't make it, then check out the REPLAY on Thursday at 3pm ET!
https://twitch.tv/retrowithmarco
I know @Justin was kind in touting the show following the Missile Command Squad Challenge, and thank you for that plug. I am normally on Tuesdays but non-gaming stuff has forced an upcoming schedule change.
Episode 69 will air on Wednesday, November 17 at 9pm ET. I will be away for the first half of November and I will be unable to stream shows, much less get in a lot of gaming.
Episode 70 will air on Tuesday, November 30 at 9pm ET. It's scheduled after the Thanksgiving holiday here in the States.
So stop on by the stream tonight & check out some new gaming records along with new homebrews for the NES, GameBoy, and ZX Spectrum!

Why, yes, I am spending my Sunday afternoon watching the 2020 Classic Tetris World Championship on Twitch!
https://twitch.tv/classictetris
Spoiler Alert: We will have a new champion this year as 2-Time Champion, Joseph Saelee, lost in the 1st round of the Finals in 5 games.
I will add that watching these young gamers take Tetris to new heights is truly fantastic!
-
The Finals are delayed for the moment due to a power outage...in Indonesia! You read that right! The only non-US player remaining, Nenu, is en route to a friend's house as I type this post. Arda Öcal, one of the hosts of the CTWC, just informed the Twitch viewers of this development.
Oh, and Nenu's opponent in the Semifinals is PixelAndy. Why is this signifcant? The winner of this Semifinal will move on to the Final Match against...PixelAndy's brother, DogPlayingTetris!
Sometimes these stories really do write themselves...
-
DogPlayingTetris, the #1 seed and all of 13 years old, found himself down 0-2 in the Final Match against PixelAndy - his 15-year-old brother.
DogPlayingTetris stormed back to win 3 straight matches including a Game 5 thriller to win the 2020 CTWC!

I still cannot access this site from a laptop/desktop browser. Firefox & Chrome both block this site while Safari just hangs in place. While I'm writing this update from my phone, I'd much rather access this site from my laptop. Any suggestions?
