  1. I'm also throwing up the white flag because it's become too frustrating for me. I continue to lose balls in every way imaginable despite the tips posted in this thread. I don't need a game's mechanics to keep my scores low; I can stink all by myself lol.
  2. I subscribe to Peacock and I can honestly say that I have NEVER SEEN THIS TRAILER anywhere on that app.
  3. This version is visually impressive and holds up when compared to the other versions (Apple II, C64).

  9. Well, it's pouring in California right now, so I decided to add to the misery & keep playing Midnight Magic*. New PB: 149,155 *I think I have reset this game about 250 times
  10. I am well into double digits w/o hitting 10K. 🍻
  11. Here's my humble submission: 125,730. I played on Stella 6.7 for Mac OS. This is one heck of a port, and I absolutely suck at it lol. The ONLY reason I posted 125K is because I fluked my way into getting the 2x multiplier. I say that because I continue find new ways to lose a ball as soon as I hit the plunger. I just can't get the timing on the flippers or anything. So, in summation: Damn good port, but I truly stink.
  12. Berzerk Atari 2600 Difficulty: Game 3 High Score: 111,810 January 12, 2024
  13. Thank you, @Justin, for the very kind words. Congratulations to @RickRon the three-peat! (It's something that I'd like to achieve at some point. I've won back-to-back a few times.) Lastly, congratulations to everyone who took part this month, and positive vibes to @Atari 5200 Guy! It would've been cool to have tried the Enhanced version, but I don't have any hardware set up and I wasn't feeling the $29 price tag. Maybe that will change if I get a tax refund lol. I have yet to play Midnight Magic on the 2600; I recall when the original David's Midnight Magic was first released back in the 1980s. I'll probably give it a go.
  14. We knew we wouldn't have the time to moderate such forums, so we set up on Discord. EverythingC64 folded their website because it was becoming too expensive to maintain. They moved to Discord at least a year ago.
  15. Whatever was transferred over is still on Lvl Up Score. I'm not sure if Lvl Up will gain users from the old HighScore because the new site was a point of contention among some of the diehards. Again, Lvl Up Score was created as an alternative. We don't exclude anyone just because they prefer another scoring or records site. In fact, a few of the Admins continued to submit to HighScore until very recently. As for Twin Galaxies, they're still around. The lawsuit & countersuit were settled recently. I'm sure you're aware as many outlets rushed their reporting.
  16. I can safely say that Lvl Up Score was not created for profit. It's why the site itself is minimal in its presentation. It's really a hobby for the Admins who are involved. Tangentially related: One option that was offered at Lvl Up Score was for HighScore.com gamers to link their accounts so their previous efforts could be ported over. But that's no longer an option, sadly.
  17. (I hope this is the correct forum for my post. @Justin , I apologize in advance if I erred.) I checked out highscore.com over the weekend as it had been ages since I logged into that site. The site was black except for the words, "Under Construction". I found that curious since that site had not been updated since I first signed up in 2016. I learned earlier this morning that the site is back up and appears to be under new ownership. I attached a screenshot; you'll note there is a new mailing list for "early access". There is also an icon on the top left which will provide site updates once you click it. The site appears to be pivoting towards a model similar to that of Antstream Arcade. It's early, though, so I cannot confirm. As for anyone who had a profile on the old highscore.com, it's gone.
  18. I receive Club VCS email digests for both Atari.io and Atari Age. Big thanks to @Mockduckwho posted on Atari Age that this tournament will stream on ALAN-1's Twitch channel! Here's a snippet of the post: For anyone interested in watching on Saturday the 27th it will start in the afternoon, with the 10k grand prize round starting around 6p mountain time/8p Eastern. https://twitch.tv/alan1gaming

  21. I just looked up the producers and both are keeping themselves busy. They have worked on Top Chef among other shows, and will have a new show debuting this year called "Chrissy and Dave Dine Out" on Freeform: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt29319236/
  22. I will admit that this new Atari collaboration with Cariuma has me a little intrigued. I own a pair of Cariuma canvas sneakers and they're nice, casual footwear for the summer.

I like the black suede.  The ones with no Atari logo confuse me...

The ones with no Atari logo were replaced with the G-FUEL logo 🤣

The black ones have both logos, which I do like.

  23. We do the same thing in that we use the local cable company (Spectrum) for Internet (which is never as fast as they claim; it's never their fault as they will blame a customer's modem and/or router every time). We're on a hybrid schedule and we can get work completed and videoconference with no issues...until Spectrum will inadverntently drop out. We also went from DirecTV to DirecTV Stream several years ago in order to cut that bill by 50%. We lost KTLA (local) when we made the switch, but KTLA was added to their streaming service about two months ago. DirecTV Stream is OK at best. Their app has gone downhill slowly and they switched to an interface similar to that of Hula & Netflix. The problem is that it's become more difficult to navigate, especially when we simply want to watch TV. In addition, we've fallen prey to various streaming services lol. We've had Prime Video, Netflix & Hulu for some time now, but we've subscribed to Peacock, Disney+, and Starz. (We jumped on introductory discounts, but have since dropped Disney+.) We also get Max for free but it sucks now. I also use a streaming service called Kanopy which is a good, free service. You simply create an account and link your library card and you can choose from hundreds of films. Nothing first run, but plenty of indie & foreign films which I find to be a nice change of pace. Our viewing habits vary from guilty pleasures to game shows. We started watching Family Feud reruns on Game Show Network for no reason lol.
  24. I played Wizard for the C64 this weekend as it's this month's High Score Challenge over at EverythingC64. Wizard is a platformer which will remind you of Jumpman (though it was designed by another company altogether). Your wizard, named Wilfred, can gain a spell every level upon grabbing a key which is also used to escape.
