Control Issues got a reaction from Atari Creep in Post Your Pictures - Intellivsion Collections
Here's pics of my Intellivision stuff...  Got all of this from a coworker.  It was literally one of those, "Look what I found in my mom's attic" kind of deals.  He tried selling it all to a local game store, but didn't like their offer then he came to me.  I told him he should have come to me first.  lol  I offered him $50 and he accepted.  Then I found out that I could only get $40 out as cash at the register, so I told him I'd owe him the other 10 and he said not to worry about it.  The $40 was already over twice what the game store offered him.  😃

(Sorry the pics aren't that great... need to take updated ones.  These are on my old apartment's kitchen floor and the dark color tile wasn't a good choice for a background.)

I picked up this "Pac Man Game" last year.  Heh... haven't played it, but it seems to be all there.

I want to get an Everdrive, but I haven't yet.  I have downloaded a lot and play via emulators, though.  But it's just not the same...  As far as what games worth trying, it's hard to recommend games without knowing what someone is into... There are tons of shooters/shmups on the system, of course.  Blazing Lazers is one of the better known ones, but there's also Raiden, R-Type, AeroBlasters, Air Zonk, Soldier Blade, Darius, Super Star Soldier... the list goes on and on...  I haven't played as many platformers for the system, but Legendary Axe, and the Bonk series are great.  I'd throw in JJ and Jeff for honorable mention just because of how weird it is.  The sports games are all kinda meh from what I've played, but they can be more fun if played with a friend.  Neutopia and Neutopia 2 are great Zelda clone type games... Honestly, my best advice is find somewhere to download the games, and just go through each letter and grab anything that looks like it might be fun.  I did.  😃

Blazing Lazers was the first TurboGrafx game I ever played.  Played it before I had my Turbo, even.  It was playing on a big screen TV at McDuff's Electronics in the mall in my town.  It was the only place I knew of that sold them, even.  Anyway, I stood there for probably an hour playing it.  I was amazed... this was so much better than Tiger Heli and 1943... lol

So... I worked at Target in the mid to late 90s in the Electronics department.  I was selling Playstations, Saturns, and Nintendo 64s.  We had a game wall that I think was like eight 4 foot sections.  When I started, it was pretty even at 4 sections for Saturn and 4 for Playstation.  Then the N64 came out and the Saturn section started shrinking.  At one point, I think it was one section for Saturn, four for Playstation, and three for N64.  Then Saturn eventually got pushed to the back endcap and a section on the back wall, and then discontinued.  Anyway, at some point during my tenure there, Sega of America sent retailers a kit with a video and some training materials on how to better sell the Saturn console.  (They were trying anything they could.)  For some reason... I kept the stuff they sent.  So in this imgur album is a scan of the stuff we were sent... a letter on Sega letterhead to the retailer, a card for the salesman to keep and refer to, and one of the pamphlets that was supposed to go in a holder on the counter for customers to take home.  I file this in the "probably incredibly rare but worthless" class of collectibles.  lol

Cool scan! I hung onto a few of those brochures, I think I still have them somewhere. Funny you posted this now, yesterday I came across an old newspaper clipping from Friday, May 12, 1995 with a Sega "Head For Saturn" advertisement. This was printed at the bottom of the TV schedule for that night.

GREAT CHOICES!! I second all of those. Blazing Lazers is truly one of my favorite games of all time. Shmups are one of the Turbo's strongpoints.

    Yes, yes and yes!

Neutopia is a favorite of mine on TurboGrafx-16. Admittedly it's a clone of Legend of Zelda, but a good clone. If you loved Zelda on NES and can set aside the clone stigma, Neutopia is a great game. Very well done imo.

THANK YOU for sharing this! I love seeing TZD stuff pop up! I have some catalogs and flyers from them that I've been meaning to scan or do something with but haven't gotten around to. Seeing that brochure brought back a lot of memories of being up late summer nights flipping through there picking out games. I used to order from TZD for like 10 years, between 1994-2004. They were great. I in fact do have a time machine, I think I'll be headed back to pick up a stack of Magical Chase and Air Zonk.

Yeah...  I don't remember my original reason for keeping it.  But I had it in the top of my closet for years and then put it in a plastic tote where it still resides.  The boxes for the controller and TurboTap have pretty much the same story.  The TurboStick box came much later, though, and was not mine since new like the other items, so that box isn't in as good a shape and I think has some sun fading or something.  The sad thing is the boxes for the games.  I had them stored away in a drawer and didn't take them with me when I moved out of my parent's house.  I think my step-mom threw them out because I said I had gotten everything I wanted and forgot about them.  I didn't have many... but had boxes for Legendary Axe, Blazing Lazers, and TV Sports Football.  Unfortunately, I think my copy of Time Cruise was also in that drawer and got thrown out.  It was a later release and didn't have a jewel case.  It was just the turbochip in a plastic tray inside a box.  And I'm pretty sure that box was in with the other boxes...
I've always liked the aesthetic of the system.  But I think it would have been better if they had just kept it the same form factor as the PC Engine...  Just the idea that everything was so small was cool.  And yeah, I like the TurboStick, but you can tell there's a heavy NES Advantage influence.  Which isn't a bad thing, because I love the NES Advantage, too.

Also in my collection is some old TurboZoneDirect (TZD) mail order stuff.  I scanned in one of the more interesting catalogs and made an Imgur album.  Check out those prices in the Price List (third image from the bottom).  Bonk 3 for $49.99!  Splatterhouse for $29.99!  Dynastic Hero for $49.99!  Cotton for $49.99!  Sigh... anyone have a time machine?

Heh... I might have to fire up an older Forza game to take some pics.  I used to play around more with the paint jobs and such, but haven't done that in the latest one...  (Forza 6 is the most recent oen I have... no Forza 7 yet)

Absolutely! I remember seeing those stacked up at Toys R Us when the TurboGrafx-16 was brand new. I thought it was the coolest looking arcade stick at the time. I've always wanted one for the TurboDuo. I may modify one or just use an adapter.
Absolutely sexy as hell! The TurboDuo too! TurboDuo had that nice, low-slung look like the Atari 7800 and Neo-Geo. I love it.
Good luck! Rooting for you to pick one up soon!

Now that's cool!  That TurboStick is a sexy piece of gaming hardware.  Hell, the entire TG-16 hardware line is probably one of the sexiest looking systems when compared to the other 16-bit consoles at that time.  Super and Genesis looked cool but TG-16 had the more necktie look to me.  Super cool.  I'm still searching for a system.  I miss it.

Furthermore, how cool that you kept the original console AND the box, and all the various pieces of your collection.  I have my original boxed Atari 2600 from my youth, but I stupidly threw out all the boxes for the games.

I'm new to the TG-16, having just got one a few months ago.  You'll have to let me know which games are worth trying.  I ended up buying an everdrive, because as you mention, the prices can be pretty nuts for games -- IF you can even find them.

I got my TurboGrafx back in High School.  Probably '91, but I don't remember exactly.  I had been looking in gaming mags and watching the battle between the Turbo and the Genesis (SNES wasn't out yet).  I finally convinced my parents to get me a TurboGrafx, but didn't know it right away.  My dad and step-mom told my mom that they were getting me one for Christmas, and my mom told me so I could pick out a game I wanted (because she had no idea about games.)  I picked Legendary Axe.  The system came with a mail in offer for a free game that required filling out a card and sending in the UPC and proof of purchase from the box (so my box has some holes in it where I cut them out).  The free game I got was Blazing Lazers.  They also got me the TurboTap and an extra TurboPad.

I don't remember the order in which the rest of the collection was acquired or years...  I know that World Class Baseball, Psychosis, and Military Madness were all bought when the local Hastings store was selling their rental games.  TV Sports Football and the controller extension cable (an actual TG extension cable) were bought from Turbo Zone Direct vial mail order.  But the others, I'm not sure... some Ebay, but don't remember which ones exactly.  But the last game I got for it was Ninja Spirit and that was about five years ago.  Most of the stuff was bought before prices skyrocketed.  Hard to justify or afford games these days.  lol

I play the Forza Motorsport games.  But haven't tried the Horizon games yet.  I think I'm pretty darn good and can beat the computer pretty handily... (though not on the toughest difficulty) and my times are pretty high up on the scoreboards usually...  but as soon as I'm playing against someone else live online, they win by such a crazy margin that I feel like I'm standing still.  So I don't play online anymore.  lol
