  1. That's a distinct possibility. It could be a leaky capacitor. I would have to have it checked out. I just don't know who to turn to yet. I will get it done, though.
  2. Thanks. I wonder if it is one of three things: May need possible re-capping of motherboard. Video shifter may be damaged. May need new power supply. Or, it's some other issue I don't know about. Since, I am not a repair expert, I am only guessing here. But, it's a bummer, though I can live with it for now. I will eventually find a fix for it, I am sure. It could be something very minor or not. I just don't know.
  3. I think you are right. I already have a composite monitor cable for mine. I think it utilizes both RF and composite video on the same computer because there is a TV port on the back of it. It can also utilize stereo audio because it has audio L and R on the back of the computer. So, it's pretty versatile. I just looked at the back of my MegaSTE and found out. The MegaSTE really is a cool unit, but I think mine needs some repairs because the video looks scrambled on the screen. That just happened when I moved into my new place a few months ago. But, it still works otherwise.
  4. Is this excerpt from ST Format? The type looks similar to the magazines I have. Also, the cable says it could be used for STE computers. Could it be used for a MegaSTE? Thanks.
  5. It reminds me of Thunderfox, too. Plays similarly to that game.
  6. I wonder how good the old Naki battery packs for the Atari Lynx work. They have been around for decades and it would be interesting to see if one would still work.
  7. I have had Fisher-Price Movie Viewers that had film cartridges you could put into the viewer. They had Mickey's Trailer, Cinderella, and even a film cartridge of the Disney cult classic The Black Hole. I think I still have mine, but haven't seen it in a while. However, some mook may have stolen it, too. I don't know. Thank God for my Atari collection, which is intact.
  8. Oh, yeah! I forgot about the ST version. It needs tweaks, but it's a good game.
  9. It is the closest-looking to the arcade version. This is true. I wonder if there will be a Crystal Castles for the A7800? That might be the most definitive version, I would think.
  10. Tapper. Straight up. It's a cool game. I have it for my A2600 Jr. and the Atari 8-bit. It's challenging, too.
  11. I have two stock Lynx systems. A Lynx 1 and 2. I also have a slew of games for them. They are a great addition to my collection.
  12. I see. The LYX file is header-less. I have seen this before, but must have forgotten. Sorry about that. I have seen this converter before on this site. I like studying these things myself. But, I have never converted a file in this manner before. I wish I could help. Sorry about that in advance.
  13. Interesting. I hope it works out for you to get your games converted. The LNX header must be for a physical game, and I assume the LYX header is for emulation. I hope you can do it accurately anyway.
  14. If it's any consolation, I met the late James Doohan once. I was almost 13 years old and I gave him a greeting card. He shook my hand. He was giving autographs at the time at a convention. That was back in 1987. Too bad he eventually passed away. but, he was pretty ill in his old age. RIP, Scotty.
  15. My comfort games are "Taz" and "Crystal Castles" for the Atari 2600. I loved them as a kid and still do.
  16. My advice to you: If you have a lot of irreplaceable Atari stuff, keep that as much as you can. You can sell duplicates of games if you wish. But, as an Atari collector, I would keep the rarer stuff in your Atari collection. That may soon become a REAL commodity.
  17. That is when you are not using the Lynx or Battery Pack for an extended period of time. Forgot to add that.
  18. This is all good advice. One thing to add: People who want to use batteries might want to take the batteries out of their Lynxes and Battery Packs. This is so that people can prevent energy from sapping out of the batteries. I don't know if this applies to NiMH or other rechargeable batteries, but it applies to alkaline batteries. At least, that's my experience. It also prevents battery leakage. I just thought I would add that in there. Thanks.
  19. I had heard of video demos for the Atari 5200, but never could find the topics about them.
  20. Interesting demo. Very good for an 8-bit console. Thanks for showing.
  21. It probably could. I once saw a demo of a clip from "Tron" on a Side3 cartridge. So, video can be streamed on the A8.
