  1. I have two stock Lynx systems. A Lynx 1 and 2. I also have a slew of games for them. They are a great addition to my collection.
  2. I see. The LYX file is header-less. I have seen this before, but must have forgotten. Sorry about that. I have seen this converter before on this site. I like studying these things myself. But, I have never converted a file in this manner before. I wish I could help. Sorry about that in advance.
  3. Interesting. I hope it works out for you to get your games converted. The LNX header must be for a physical game, and I assume the LYX header is for emulation. I hope you can do it accurately anyway.
  4. If it's any consolation, I met the late James Doohan once. I was almost 13 years old and I gave him a greeting card. He shook my hand. He was giving autographs at the time at a convention. That was back in 1987. Too bad he eventually passed away. but, he was pretty ill in his old age. RIP, Scotty.
  5. My comfort games are "Taz" and "Crystal Castles" for the Atari 2600. I loved them as a kid and still do.
  6. My advice to you: If you have a lot of irreplaceable Atari stuff, keep that as much as you can. You can sell duplicates of games if you wish. But, as an Atari collector, I would keep the rarer stuff in your Atari collection. That may soon become a REAL commodity.
  7. That is when you are not using the Lynx or Battery Pack for an extended period of time. Forgot to add that.
  8. This is all good advice. One thing to add: People who want to use batteries might want to take the batteries out of their Lynxes and Battery Packs. This is so that people can prevent energy from sapping out of the batteries. I don't know if this applies to NiMH or other rechargeable batteries, but it applies to alkaline batteries. At least, that's my experience. It also prevents battery leakage. I just thought I would add that in there. Thanks.
  9. I had heard of video demos for the Atari 5200, but never could find the topics about them.
  10. Interesting demo. Very good for an 8-bit console. Thanks for showing.
  11. It probably could. I once saw a demo of a clip from "Tron" on a Side3 cartridge. So, video can be streamed on the A8.
  12. I use cable only for Internet. Ever since August 2023, I watch ONLY over-the-air television (and maybe my DVDs at times). Sure it's spotty, and I don't get all of my channels all of the time. But, it's definitely cheaper than cable or satellite TV. I am probably saving over $1,000.00 a year by not getting cable TV. Free is free, meaning no money needs to be spent on the signal. I like free. So, there you have it. Thanks for letting me share.
  13. My top five Atari 7800 games are these: Food Fight Midnight Mutants Alien Brigade Kung-Fu Master Rampage These games have a real WOW factor to them, at least for me.
  14. There were other development systems, like Felix and I believe one called Rapier. But, whether or not they were before Alpine I do not know.
  15. My family had an all-in-one stereo at one time, with a record player, radio and 8-track player. We eventually got rid of it. The record player was needing repairs, but everything else worked on it. I would listen to Chicago on the 8-track tape player. Glorious sound.
  16. I still use VCRs from time-to-time. I also have amassed a huge collection of VHS tapes. It's a blast from the past, so to speak. Fun to watch.
  17. I liked the Third Era. Midnight Mutants is a great game, and so is Scrapyard Dog. Bigger games meant greater challenges. Those were definitely big games.
  18. It shouldn't hurt the cart itself anyway. I don't see how it could. So, this makes perfect sense.
