  1. I see how that could happen. Interesting. That makes sense.
  2. Sounds logical. I can see soldering being a thing with the older A2600s. I think socketing, especially ZIF socketing, is a more recent innovation. But, is there an issue with chip creep on those socketed chips? I wonder.
  3. I didn't think they were socketed in. I thought they needed soldering. Cool. :O)
  4. Agreed. The power regulator may need to be replaced, too. Just for safety, anyway. :O)
  5. This is interesting. Thanks for posting this. :O)
  6. By the way, where did you get the replacement Stella, TIA, and RIOT chips? Were they from a system or unused? I suppose they were cannibalized from an old system that didn't work anymore. That's my guess.
  7. That's good you were able to repair the A2600. Those Woodies are worth their weight in gold. I had one, but it got stolen. No worries, as I have an A2600 Junior Short Rainbow that works well. It just needs some cosmetic repair. I can do that, but I need to decide how. I am researching that. :O)
  8. I am sure that has happened at least a few times to some lucky people. I wouldn't doubt it. :O)
  9. Welcome to the Club. It's a friendly place, to be sure. :O)
  10. There was going to be a "Country VidGrid," but it was shelved. That would have probably boosted sales if they went through with releasing it.
  11. Both games are pretty cool. Especially "VidGrid." I got a kick out of that game with unscrambling FMV music videos while they were playing. Real challenge, that game. :O)
  12. Nice setup. I see you have a Jaguar there. Does it have the CD unit? Thanks for sharing. :O)
  13. Interesting article. I would like to see what they do with this. :O)
  14. Thanks for telling us, and welcome to Atari.io! :O)
  15. I had my Cybermorph packed with my Jag as well. Got it brand new for $99.95, back in the day. :O)
  16. I think that I have the 2 MB version. I believe Skylar says "Avoid the ground" when I crash into it.
  17. Maybe not Plutonium, but I noticed that Songbird Productions in Rochester, MN, has a USB power adapter for the Lynx. The adapter is made in France, but Carl Forhan has exclusive rights to sell it here in the US. It's not very expensive either. It should still be on his site. :O)
  18. It describes Centipede as the trademark instead of Asteroids. Nice catch! :O)
  19. Agreed. It would be nice. I could imagine an Internet access device would be nice for the Jaguar. I sometimes wonder how the Jaguar would have fared with Cortina. It might have fared better with Web access and online multiplayer games. But, it was all about the marketing as well. 🙂
  20. I see your point, Justin. You're right about Intellivision. It was like a film and glossy, if I recall correctly. The A5200 overlays seemed pretty stiff. The Jaguar overlays were almost a plastic, I thought. But, your idea of sending it to a print shop does have merit. Thanks for letting me share. :O)
  21. Thanks for the information on this, Justin. I am sure it will be thoroughly researched. :O)
  22. The overlays might be made of Mylar. I really don't know. Well, some kind of polymer base anyway. I guess we would have to do our research, and that would ultimately be up to Lance. After all, he is the head honcho in this project. He would have to chime in on this for sure.
  23. I think I can help you when the time comes, Justin. Please feel free to give the word when we need to do it. I can help. Of course. :O)
  24. Interesting graphics. I like the premise of this game. It looks good.
  25. Also, usually Roku is cheap, depending on the device. I would think the Streaming Stick would be one of the cheaper options to buy.
