I think, and I'm not saying that I agree, that because the voting takes place in AA, he is limiting to games released through the forum.  I think it should be open to everyone, though.  Any homebrew developer should be recognized and included.

It is also worth mentioning that the games that are nominated are either released publicly making them easy to play or have a demo version in most cases that give a good representation of the game as a whole.
But I have noticed that a few of the games this year are essentially (here is a YT video of it in action), and that is all that is provided to base judgement. I don't agree with such games being allowed because in my eyes, you can't judge a game properly unless you have a chance to be able to play it in some form.
I'm not actually voting this year and it is the first time I'm taking this stance. I also declined being on the nomination team last year and this year not only for similar reasons already stated, but also because I was a tester on some of these and that will always bring about some bias. James stated he doesn't vote because he feels folks will think he has a natural bias on the games and I agree with him on that. But then lots of the Devs that watch his streams etc..., said he should vote?

I didn't understand the nomination process this year.  That factored in to my Atari 2600 titles not getting voted on.  A couple might have gotten disqualified due to technicalities.
I am grumpy about it due to my own failings and lack of traction in the scene.  But, feelings pass.  Actions last.

I just discovered the thread here. Someone asked why they can't voting for Carrot Kingdom™, and the answer was "There was no public binary release." or something like that, which at the time there was. You just had to download from the Carrot Kingdom™ site, not from the other forum. 😛
That was kinda uncool IMO, along with the very limited list of games that do not including the rest of us. Like Peter said, no Songbird, Video61, etc. I don't keep up with the whole scene, but IMO the Venture port for 7800 that Peter and Lance did should have been way up the list!
Either way, I appreciate the hard work of everyone, and love checking out what I can from everyone. 💖

I'd buy it in print form.  I'd love to have something like this to go along side the VCS.

Thank you! I'm glad that you received it and appreciate the feedback. There are definitely plans to do more issues of the free e-zine. I will likely do future print runs if there is interest.

I'm not quite there yet. A number of folks have expressed interest in a print copy. I decided to do a single issue print to check quality, cost and determine what revisions need to be made to do a small run.
A number of changes need to be made, including the addition of two content pages (magazines are divisible by 4), the orientation of page numbers on even pages, and some art and text adjustments. Also, reading a print copy I found a handful of small errors that have since been corrected.
Overall, I was pretty happy. It looks and feels like a store bought magazine. I'm ordering one more test print with the revisions. If it looks good, I will do a small run for ClubVCS members first. If I have left overs, I'll open it up. I plan to offer these at my cost plus shipping. If I move forward, I'll make the announcement here first.

    BLACK FRIDAY
    BOXED LOT #5
    ATARI 2600!

    hi everyone,
we are happy to offer this batch of customer returns we purchased out of Atari decades ago. these items were returned to Atari for various reasons by retailers. many times they are still new, or opened boxes, but complete.
many games are still shrink wrapped, but the boxes are poor, that is why many of the games were returned to Atari, poor boxes, which made the games unsellable.
we have perhaps thousands of these Atari games left in our warehouse, but the games and boxes were sent to us unsorted. Atari just threw everything in shipping boxes and sent them to us... so we are not sure of how many titles of these we have, or their numbers.
since we don't have the time to sort these boxes out, we will just put up batches for sale, offered exclusively to Atari I/O Members at a discounted price. as these are discounted items, we are unable to mix or match or look for certain titles, because we have no time, and i feel the price is right for this batch.
among our customer return items, there are titles for Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Atari 7800, and Atari 400 / 800/ XL / XE. There may be Atari Lynx and Jaguar games also in the future!
there will be no warranty on these.
this batch will be $99.95 and includes free shipping if you live in the u.s.a.
this is not an auction, and we are not negotiable on the price, as its firm and fair.
to inquire or purchase please include where you live, and email us with your order at video61@atarisales.com, or video61atarisales@gmail.com
please do not internally e-mail me from atari.io with your order
here are the titles included in this batch:
