I've seen pics of groups of cabs left outside of building to just rot from the elements. And in the worst cases, I've seen photos of actual arcade guys that still operate machines and routes that have posted pics of bonfires they have built with cabs that weren't making them anymore money and they weren't willing to sell the cabs for cheap to get rid of them so... burn them instead.

It's interesting they went with that character design instead of a typical "Indiana Jones" type.

    Release Date: October 26, 2023
    Retail: 8.99
    Developer: Handcrafted Mystical Games
    Publisher: Handcrafted Mystical Games
    Synopsis :
Montezuma's Revenge is getting a new revival.
Developed by the 16-year-old Robert Jaeger in 1983, this Indiana Jones-style adventure also found its way onto the Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Apple II, ColecoVision, Commodore 64, IBM PC and ZX Spectrum. It was later rebooted on the Sega Master System in 1988, boasting improved visuals, sound and features.
40 years on, and Handcrafted Mystical Games is remaking the game for modern consoles and PC, and Jaeger himself is involved with the process. Furthermore, a previously unreleased complete 'Director’s Cut' of the original game will also be included.
"In Montezuma’s Revenge, players may follow Pedro the explorer or his younger sister Rosita on an expedition for glory into the deadly depths of Montezuma’s tomb," reads the PR. "Overcome devious traps, face down monstrous foes, and find a path through the ruins to untold riches – and then see if you can do it again."

Just now realized when I clicked on this I've confused Montezuma's Revenge with Custer's Revenge and was relieved to see this was the game in development for the VCS

Thanks, I really not looking for yet another game machine.  I'd like to feed my real 5200 some new games or even a new cartridge.  I remember there was a remake of Omega Race for it a few years back, but I cannot remember the name of it. (getting old sucks).

The Atari Gamestation has several 5200 games on it, and more can be added via SD card:

AtariAge sells plenty of 5200 games.  Look on their store, or even on ebay:

I hear about the VCS, I hear about the 7800 and all the recharged PC goodies.  But I have to wonder, will the new Atari ever give any love to us 5200 die hards?  Even if they simply went out and bought the rights to the best of the best hacks from enthusiast programmers and slapped the Atari name and label on a cartridge it would nice.  The last game I purchase for the 5200 was Tempest from AA (now owned by Atari).  Being able to get some NEW & GOOD games for Big Sexy sure would be nice.

Sorry, everyone, I didn't have time to do much more than post pictures last night.  Here are some observations:
Pac-Man.  You all have good eyes.  It is indeed an XL size and to my eyes, it looks like the size of a real cabinet.  That being said, the box is not heavy at all.  Probably because no CRT.  Still, I would not hesitate to buy this.  It looks great.  Pinball.  I played this one a lot because it's really well done and fun.  Just like the ATGames pinball machines, I felt like it was real after a few minutes of playing.  The illusion is good. Haptic and audio feedback are great.  Atari MyArcade.  They had a lot of them.  I was very tempted.

It does look bigger, doesn't it? That's really cool. If I had the Arcade1-Up, it would be the Atari Classics. I have been an Atarian since 1982. It's ingrained in me now.

I like that the Pac-Man Arcade 1-Up is an "XL"size and looks more like a real arcade machine. That looks fantastic. I hope it's constructed well.

Also, will they make an updated version of the A7800 Europad? That was a cool controller. Sure it had faults, as any controller could, but I like it.

I know it is compatible with a lot of games, but I wonder. How compatible is it with A2600/7800 homebrews? Some of them get pretty advanced.
