oooh I love 🍍 drinks. Didn't know about this one. Although I only drink diet soda, I'd make an exception to try pineapple Fanta.
I mostly drink diet as well, but this is one of only a few regular sodas I'll drink as there's no diet option that I know of. I like to try the weirder sodas sometimes. Nothing against regular stuff; I just think diet tastes better.

I think you are wise to avoid the sugar, to be honest. The typical can of regular soda has 20-30g of sugar! In general, that's why I'll only partake in these things once in a while.
Not so much the sugar. I don't really care to be honest. I just like how the diet stuff is thinner and less sticky. When I drink the regular stuff it somehow makes me thirstier.

Orange pop is amazing. I'll always prefer the diet stuff though. I know I'm going to get dementia before I'm 30, but it's worth it. Diet pop is my true love.

I played some Haunted House today. A lot better than I gave it credit for. I can see how it could be in someone's top ten for so long. Wow, all my opinions are changing today.

Played ET again today. Honestly not near as bad as I remembered.

Awesome, @nosweargamer! I guessed it! The GemStik is special to me as it's the first Atari controller I ever fixed. It was unresponsive and the rubber coating thing was coming off. Not my favorite, but a good second player controller. Has a nice button.
Sadly, it seems my 7800 won't be coming today either. They HAVE it, so that's good, but they need to test it or whatever. I won't be able to play on Atari Day, but I WILL be able to play it tomorrow and Japanese Atari Day (28th, 2800)!

Someone should make a sticker of @socrates63's head. I'd put that on all my Atari consoles, including the 7800 when I pick it up hopefully later today.

Ooh, I think you're right, Harry 👍 Thanks for the photo. I was thinking of a different joystick.
I guess we'll have to wait until 6 (where I live, at least)

I was thinking that too because of the button color. But I think it's the Atari joystick. The stick looks little too thin and tall to be the GemStik. I think the button color came out that golden color because of the pixelation effect.
If you were to hold the controller like you were playing it, in the upper right corner there's that white pixel line. There's no equivalent to that on the standard Atari-brand controller. Plus, those little pixels around the joystick look like they might be the white arrows on the GemStik. And there looks to be that the plastic around the button is bulging out a bit. Much like the GemStik.
Here's a picture I took at roughly the same angle and distance:

Well, I've never played any of them, but since they seem to be more or less identical to their NES counterparts I'll go with Mario Brothers. It seems a bit faster on the 7800 from videos I've seen, but mostly the same. I'm a huge Mario Bros. fan.

@Atari 5200 Guy F-Zero is excellent. Maybe my favorite racing game ever. Maximum Velocity on GBA is good too. Fire Stingray, anyone?

Cool story @RickR! How does it perform on Vectrex? And doesn't Vectrex need 4 buttons?
Start button? I don't know

What a great Atari Day gift!
Isn't funny that a "quick question" turned into you getting a 7800 on Atari Day! 👍
Yeah, guess it wasn't so quick after all! I sure hope it comes in tomorrow.
By the way, @nosweargamer, I love your podcast on the 7800. I've been listening to it these past few days. It's really getting me hyped for this system! Shame that it ended, but there's no way you could've kept it going after you covered all the games. Great job, my dude.

Wow, same price for loose and CIB? Either the loose carts are expensive there or the CIB games are dirt cheap, and I'm guessing it's the latter.
It's kind of both. About $5 for each. Not a terrible price for a loose game, but no where near the prices you get in bulk lots. I don't like to buy things online. I like to be able to see the games in person. I think it's worth the extra dollar or two. Plus, I have most of the common carts you see in 95% of the lots, so it's actually a little cheaper this way. I don't like duplicates.

I'm probably not alone in this, but I like boxes on the shelf and usually collect CIB games if I can.
I'm the same way, IF they're the same price. The game store I frequent often has loose and CIB 2600 games for the same price. If they're any more expensive, I'll buy them loose. I don't have the funds to constantly be paying extra for games I'm going to buy regardless.

I've heard about Atari Day from @nosweargamer's videos. I've been saving my Atari shirt for a while now. From what I've read it's all about spreading the word and magic of Atari.

No, that's not what I meant. I have a 5200 controller where the joystick has been removed and an extender and knob added to the horizontal movement potentiometer. I'll try to get a picture after work today.
Ah. Thanks for clarifying.

The paddle controller works with the "side to side" joystick games (Super Breakout, Space Invaders, Galaxian, etc).
So a paddle controller would work with this adapter? Intriguing. Well, if I ever get a 5200 you know what I'm getting.

Sadly the 7800 won't be coming until tomorrow. At least that means I'll get it on Atari Day.

Thanks, @RickR and @TrekMD! I have long wondered about this. It seems to be a rather pointless change; I mean you can already play this game on the original console, so why change it years later? What a stupid idea. It seems both the system 1 and 2 have their pros and cons. Do these games work with the later INTV corp system?
