I guess it's confession time.
I've never told anyone about this before because I felt a little embarrassed about it, but ever since Algebra class last year, I've had a crush on this girl who was at the same table as I. We used to laugh and fool around and have all the fun. I have no idea how I even passed that class. We messed around the entire period every single day.
I've never quite felt this way before, and I've kept it completely to myself for the last year. This was one of the tougher parts of the pandemic for me, as silly as that sounds. We've kept in touch the whole time, though it really isn't the same. I was always scared of asking her out at the time because I was scared of rejection, though I was pretty sure she liked me back. I think that it's damn time I do something about it all, virus permitting. Even if I do get friendzoned or something, I would have at least put myself out there. Nothing will come of sitting here wishing for things.
I figure just talking about it would probably help me feel better about it. Like I said, I haven't said a word to anybody about this. Talking about it to another person will probably help me feel a bit more confident about it all. Sorry for the excessive blabbering about high school garbage like this.

A quick review of the "Super Mario Bros Game & Watch". One of my kids got one as a gift, and I've borrowed it while they weren't looking.
Quick summary: It's awesome. Worth the price.
My opinion is that Super Mario Bros on NES is a masterpiece. The colors, the music, the level designs, the bright graphics. All perfect. And this little device captures all that. At first, the controls seem a little slippery, but that's just because the screen is so small. Once you get used to that, it's all good. The screen is nice and bright. The music sounds great. It's so well done.
Bravo to Nintendo for doing nostalgia products with such high quality.
I've seen a lot of complaints about "no kickstand". Really? OK. If that's all there is to complain about, I think it speaks highly about this product.

Today I ordered a whole THIRTEEN Atari VCS cartridges from @Scott Stilphen of Atari Compendium fame. What a great deal— all these games for less than $25.00! I’m looking forward to sharing these games with you all when they arrive. Some of these games I ought to have gotten a long time ago.

Here is the last “episode” on the first tape, simply titled MTT. In the last few minutes of each tape I sang an ending song not to cut off anything important. And wow, young Harry thought diabetes was f****ng hilarious. Of course now I know that diabetes is no laughing matter.
I have the means of ripping these tapes to my computer rather than just taking a video of it. If anyone is interested, I would gladly upload some of these tapes.

@socrates63, you don’t know how many times I have had to dig these out of the garbage! I have lost a few over the years. Tapes break, parents recycle notebooks that seem to be “old”, “used up”, or “not of any use anymore” (I don’t blame them for making the simple mistake), a few were simply misplaced and haven’t turned up yet and some have just been lost to the sands of time. Most of these items are accounted for and are safely stored in the HCA (Harry Closet Archives).
My Metroid and other comics, books, cartoons, audio recordings, etc. of old are really bad. Crude art, horrible dialog, one-dimensional characters, godawful humor; these have virtually nothing going for them. They suck, plain and simple. Despite that, however, I am oddly proud of them.

And here’s one of the comic books, “MTT [Metroid’s Turnover Tops] The Treasury: Volume II”. The humor in this is very on-brand for a second grader. Lots of fart jokes.
This book has seen better days. I spilled a sandwich bag full of horehound candy and water on it in my youth. I dropped the candy or something in summer school and filled a bag with water from the bubbler and gave them a little bath as to not waste them. I left the notebook and the candy out in the hall when I went to class. When I returned, MTT had absorbed the hard candy-infused water like a sponge. I was devastated at the time. All my hard work undone by my foolishness and some “old people candy”. Damn, horehound is good though.
I think Metroid deserves his own thread in “Off Topic”. I will have to make that in the coming days.
And here is a Christmas comic, perfect for this time of year. Metroid was disappointed with his gift of Lays potato chips... until the Christmas tree came to life and... attacked him? Spooked him?
I believe our printer has a scanner built in. I will try to scan these old comics to try to “preserve them online”.

Found these (and many more) in the basement while cleaning today. I haven’t listened to these in years. Since 2017 or so. I am in for a nostalgia trip, and you are in for a “what the hell was that kid on” sort of trip.
I forgot to mention the tapes simply titled “Metroid”. That’s a mockumentary series. I’m telling ya, folks...

Minnesota? No, actually. We are on the eastern side of the state. Think of Wisconsin as your hand. Appleton is a little bit below the space between your thumb and index finger. About a half hour away from Green Bay.
