  1. I was around that age when I first discovered tunlrunr.bin on my Wii. The Zots still startle me to this day! I can totally see your Pac-Man comparison. That would be an interesting ROM hack. It's a shame the game is so expensive compared to other 2600 games.
  2. Totally a cool looking effect. Might sound silly but 2600 Pac-Man and Defender are my favorite versions of the games actually. I love the character in Pac-Man and the physics in Defender work better for me. I 100% understand why others might not like them, but I will always "defend" them.
  3. No, but what on the 7800 was? Maybe Commando? Ikari Warriors? Poor system. A great little machine in retrospect, but it never stood a chance in its own time.
  4. WHEN KOOPAS ARE INVOLVED. Sorry. CD-I Harry talking there. I've heard Water Ski is actually pretty fun, but I don't know much about Tank Command.
  5. Yeah, I agree. That's supposed to be a bad game? I think it's a B+ game for the system. Maybe A-. I don't like it when people use turbo and exploit the flicker, though. It's a bit confusing and outdated, but I rather like it. Fun to mess around with. It doesn't hold your hand at all. I like it. Hush, hush now. Don't bring my precious 2600 Pac-Man into this. Let him eat his video wafers in peace.
  6. I'm not a big fan of E.T. but that doesn't mean it's the worst game ever. I can see how someone might enjoy it. This poster greets me every morning. I'll never forget how to play E.T! Though the game isn't one of my favorites, I think the poster's cool.
  7. @TrekMD How much do those go for?
  8. Please do ol' Harry a favor. Play Tunnel Runner. Please. It takes a bit to get used to but it's truly fantastic. I love this game so much.
  9. I've been trying to get my friend to play Super Metroid, but he just refuses to. He's got Switch Online, so he has no excuse not to. He's a big fan of Metroidvania games like Hollow Knight, so he should at least give it a try. It just infuriates me.
  10. Really? Thanks for telling me! I guess now that I think about it it doesn't really sound like POKEY. I guess you learn something new every day! But really, you should review the game. Review Super Metroid, too. :)
  11. It'll go right by my precious Wii, the great system that first introduced me to the wonderful world of Atari nearly a decade ago. So happy to have found these forums and be able to talk to everyone here about it!
  12. @nosweargamer It reminds me of Metroid sort of. Like a precursor. Great sound track, too; I'm pretty sure it has POKEY. I'd love to get my hands on the physical cart someday.
  13. I could see someone liking Pitfall! more. It's a bit more complex and almost like an adventure. The memorization involved and the time limit have always kept me from enjoying it as much as I could have. I like the sequel a bit more. Have you thought about reviewing that one anytime soon, @nosweargamer?
  14. Thanks for everyone's help! I wouldn't have gotten this system without you! Just two more days until I get it! It's like waiting for Christmas! I also found it funny that the nes version of dk jr CIB is hundreds of dollars more than virtually the same game on the 7800
  15. You guys are fancy! I just daisy chain a bunch of coax cables together and call it a day.
  16. What a great find. It's worth the money if for nothing else than a cool decoration.
  17. Wow, you did a great job, @CrossBow! The picture looks amazing! Ever since seeing screenshots and videos of Venture, I have been a little envious of CV owners. Excellent job on your modification!
  18. This is supposed to be a terrible console, but it's always somehow fascinated me. Not that I'd go out of my way to get one, of course. Just look at its strange little keypads! How are you supposed to play a game like this, much less with another person? This thing was based off of the FRED computer prototypes, I think. It was too little too late. Maybe it would've been cool had it released in 1975, but in 1976? That was the same year as the VCS and a whole year after the Channel F! Only a few games were made for the thing, most of which you could get better versions of on other consoles of the time. It was also Black and White only! Imagine growing up with this thing... There were even plans for a Studio III (which I believe was released overseas) and Studio IV! The console seems terrible, but it's something I'd like to try out someday. Anyone own this thing? What are your thoughts on the system?
  19. Thanks, @Video 61 for adding so much to this conversation.
  20. It's Saturday, so I cleaned my 2600 again. It's crazy how much dirt and dust builds up in those ridges after only 7 days.

You can go 7 days?  Mine does well to go 7 hours.  That's why I keep a dust cover on mine 😄

@Atari 5200 Guy Putting on the dust cover is pointless for me since I'm playing so often. Do you have a plastic or cloth dust cover?

You're reviewing Street Racer? Awesome. Decently fun in multiplayer but an abysmal game to play alone.
  22. I don't care for the vast majority of cartridge labels on the 7800 either. I wish they did more of them like Pole Position II. I really think the monochromatic cliparty approach there looks good.
  23. Thanks. I was pretty worried about that one. Good thing Choplifter is very low on my list of games to get
