Package arrived today safe and sound. Should I open the wrapped gifts now, or wait until Christmas?
-
Woohoo. Thanks again for doing the giveaways and making great videos.

I'd love to get a NOS Atari brand 2600 controller. None of the modern copies are "just right".

Ghostbusters is great anytime of year, but is even better around Halloween.

Just heard about this. Looks fantastic.

Your Atari "firsts" memories and experiences...
SuperTrooper replied to Clint Thompson's topic in Atari Memories
First Atari memory is still pretty clear. Christmas 1982 we went to visit my aunt and grandmother in another state for Christmas and my older cousins had a 2600. First time I had ever seen one and was not old or tall enough to play an arcade so they weren't on the radar yet. First three games I watched them play was Pac-Man, Combat, and Joust. First game I got to play was Joust and thought it was the most amazing thing ever. -
Totally agree. Was excited when Link Between Worlds came out. The 3D Link games are good, but could be part of a separate game series and you would never know the difference. Was hoping the remake of Link's Awakening would be better, but Nintendo botched that. Ridiculous slowdown of a GB game remake in 2020 blew my mind, and I was not super thrilled with the art style, I was hoping for more of a Link Between World look.

Link to the Past is close to gaming perfection, but nostalgia makes me put The Legend of Zelda, and Link's Awakening ahead by a hair.

New 35th Anniversary Super Mario Bros Nintendo Game and Watch!
SuperTrooper replied to Gianna's topic in Nintendo
All of Nintendo's announcements are limited. Mario 35 will only be playable for 6 months, the 3d collection with 64, Sunshine, and Galaxy will only be for sale physical and digital for six months, and the game and watch is limited numbers. I'm really getting tired of created scarcity in order to make a quick buck the only people making a killing are the scalpers and it hurts the core group of fans. -
Do you use hot sauce? How hot do you like it?
SuperTrooper replied to jmjustin6's topic in Off Topic
I have one of these on my table. A little goes a long way, but love the flavor. I'll take flavor over heat any day, I don't like hot for the sake of being hot. -
Cilantro is a must in any salsa worth eating, and it's good on just about everything.

These are more for clamshell boxes, but a couple minutes in a photoeditor and you should be good to go: http://thecoverproject.net/view.php?game_id=9537

At the original announcement it was going to blend FPGA and software emulation to give a great experience, but now it's just a computer in a box that's using all software emulation at a price that competing with the PS4 Pro. You could also get a dedicated emulation computer for a little more and do everything up to Wii U and PS2 and they make controller to usb adapters if you want to use original controllers. It was originally a neat idea, but two plus years later they have priced themselves out of the market, and for lower end systems MISTER is the way to go at the moment.

NSG's Rankings of Over 200 Atari 2600 Games!
SuperTrooper replied to nosweargamer's topic in Atari 2600
Yea, like I think I'm about the only person who like Jungle Hunt better than Pitfall. I know I'm an oddity. -
NSG's Rankings of Over 200 Atari 2600 Games!
SuperTrooper replied to nosweargamer's topic in Atari 2600
Thanks for posting the list. Recently got a Retron 77 and started looking for games I never played back in the day. Happed to find your channel and have been very impressed with the quick reviews you do. It's refreshing to see a channel that doesn't stretch out everything to ten minutes in order to get monetized. Keep up the good work. -
Did you think Atari 2600 Pac-Man was bad when you first got it?
SuperTrooper replied to Justin's topic in Atari 2600
I was probably 5 when I got pac-man on the 2600. At the time and for years later it was all I knew and played the heck out of it. Years later I played Ms Pac-man (arcade version) and was blown away and started dropping quarters for a while. -
Collectables, most retro game shops still sell 2600 games for a buck or two. I know of a few teens getting into them just because they are so cheap.

Last 2600 physical cartridge I played was either Keystone Kapers, or Haunted House. That's been many years ago and I can't remember which.
