I know I have covered this with some feedback to Ferg on the 2600 Game By Game Podcast, but here are my memories.
My first memories of Atari is the Super Pong console my parents had. My dad would bring it out and we would play it for a while, then he would disconnect it so it would not stay on by accident and cause burn in on the tv.
Later on I went to a friends house and he showed us Space Invaders and I was hooked and had to have that game myself. On my birthday in 1981 I received the 2600. I think I finally pinpointed the date as I remember the games I received for that Christmas were 81 releases. I got Space Invaders, Air-Sea Battle, and of course Combat with the system. Then a few months later for Christmas I got Asteroids, Missile Command, and Video Pinball. The one thing I do remember was the frustration on waiting for a time to play as we only had one TV and my parents loved watching it, so I had to wait, sometimes days and maybe a few weeks, before I could play again.
One funny story was how we found out that Atari and Sears Tele-Games were the same games but with different names. One day, my dad and me were playing Air-Sea Battle and he said hold on, I have a surprise for you. He came back in the room with Target Fun. We plugged it in and found out it was the exact game we were just playing just a different name. Luckily we were able to return games back then without question and was able to get something else. Think that was how I ended up with either Human Cannonball or Sky Diver from a different store after that being afraid the same thing would happen at Sears again.

One other memory just happened last year. A coworker knew I collected Atari stuff and said he inherited a storage space. Inside he found an old Sears TeleGames Light Sixer System. It was just the console only, so he brought it to me and I took it home. After a major cleaning and I mean a major cleaning, replacing the video cable that was falling apart, and checking the board carefully, I plugged it in, put in Video Pinball and turned it on. I played Video Pinball for a while after that. I ended up buying it from him and it is now part of my collection. It just showed me how hardy these systems were back then. I would put my money on any newer system being in that condition and never working again. These older systems were built like tanks.

Here is my game room tour. I have over 250 cib 2600 games, a nice little collection of 7800 games, and a nice collection of home brews with titles that interested me. I am not a completionist and do not want to own every game. I only get games that I want to play. I only have 42 games that are not in box, and I have manuals for a lot of them, but they are so expensive now that I hope to catch box only deals somewhere. I also have ps3 games and Nintendo games not pictured, but only a few and that is the part of the room still under construction.

Guess we will find out in February if there are other major changes. Love how they want to be the premier auction site but are making it harder to use the site for sellers. My guess is they might be doing it to help fight against scamming sellers by making a little harder to become a seller.

It has been a while since I sent feedback to Ferg. I always felt I was just repeating what others were saying. So until I feel like I have something to really add, I have been keeping quiet. I do love how these shows let the listeners add feedback and we get to hear all the differing opinions about games and maybe see them a little different in the end.

Thanks to the response from Listeners Like You™, we decided to go back and address feedback from our previous episode. Your top ten desert island games (assuming your desert island has an adequate power source, of course) and of course all the other heartwarming (or heartburning?) dialog you're familiar with from Jim'n'Sean are discussed in this Very Special Episode®️.   https://piefactorypodcast.wordpress.com/2021/03/23/episode-120-revisited/

Here's my best score so far. I'm impressed by this little NES game. It's a lot of character for 8-bits of golf!
    My Best Score: -11

    That 18th hole is tough!
Never played this one before but used to love the Gameboy version of Golf.  Played that one against my friend with the Link cable as a kid. This one is good but I find the Gameboy take on it better.

I've played a ton of golf games over the years, but I've never tried this one.  It's fun!  Here's my quick review:
    Good Stuff
Easy to learn, but difficult to master.  I like the games that don't over complicate things.  Using a standard hit meter is always a good sign.  But it isn't easy to get that swing just right.  That's a good thing -- it makes it more realistic Simple putting.  Again...why do so many golf games make it so hard?  This one is just right. Quick games.  18 holes takes about 30 minutes for me.  I love that.  Casual gaming at it's best.  And not a lot of button pushes to get from hole to hole. Nice courses.  Not too easy, not too tough. I love it.  Especially the greens surrounded by water.   Bad Stuff
Needs more music variety. Needs more character variety Overall RickR grade:  A

Hopefully, you guys will give this a try.  It's easy and fun.  Let me know if you need help with the game or emulation or whatever.

Talking about the big freeze. We lost power for 30 hours straight just East of Dallas. The temperature before the power came back on just dipped below 40 degrees in the house. MY house was built in the 70's and we replaced the original windows a few years ago, so that helped. Also had hot food to eat thankfully, but it sure felt weird outside in the snow grilling hamburgers and other items, but it was worth it.

I am thinking about the McWill screen. I did buy one Lynx cheap that has one bad pixel, so I do have one to use. Not sure if I want to send it off or try and do it myself. I am okay with a soldering iron, and have modded a 2600 and 7800, but when you get to surface mounted technology, it can be so much trickier.

I saw the video Willie did a while back. It did look fun and reminded me of playing Street Racer when I was young.
I also had the Tomy Digital Derby and now own 2 different model number versions and a couple of extra for parts. They are notorious for a small plastic part breaking where the timer stops. I am looking for a permanent repair but have not seen anything yet. I loved playing those old Tomy games and had others they sold.

Let's say you didn't have a Nintendo, but you really wanted to play Nintendo games like Super Mario and Zelda! Well, you can't, but you can play similar games! I invite you to think of your own Atari 2600 alternatives to NES games in the replies! Here are a few of mine:

    Instead of Zelda, play Adventure!
Instead of Super Mario Brothers, play Pitfall!
    Instead of Punch-Out, play Boxing!
Instead of Metroid, play Montezuma's Revenge!
Instead of Rad Racer, play Fatal Run or Enduro!
What are some you can think of?

I also went with the Collector's Edition for the addition of the digital copy.  The Deluxe Edition was tempting but I don't have the space for all of the bonus items.

No problem. Regardless of what path you take on this (If you do) you will be quite pleased with the results.
You can get McWill kits from Console5 here in the states for about $93 + shipping and would likely get in within a week.
    https://console5.com/store/mcwill-lcd-upgrade-kit-for-atari-lynx-ii-later-version-2.html

The BennVenn screens are cheaper at basically $65 + shipping but as they come from Australia, it can take a while to get them. They also sell these on a pre-order basis meaning that once they have enough paid for upfront, they then get a batch made up and send it to you once they have them. The last order I placed for 2 screens from them took about 1 1/2 months for me to get it.

The capacitor and power refresh kits I would just get from Console5 as they are quality components and pricing is quite fair.

Once I got the laptop going, it also went smoothly for me with Chrome. I think it might have been two hours after sales started for me. I did get a Collectors version as I play on both original hardware and sometimes though emulation.
I agree with you about the deluxe edition. It would have been nice, but where to store all those other items in the limited space I already have.
