Rocker67 reacted to HDN in Your Greatest In-game Feats
This. This is my greatest achievement. The ring isn’t cracked.

I hope they fix whatever problems they had for the next game. I had to clear the cache, try three browsers, etc. I wanted to get the VIP edition but I kept getting an error message, so I got the Collector's edition instead.

Was able to get in and order. All three editions were available. I did have issues with my phone and desktop Firefox browser. Had to use Edge to get in. Looking forward to getting it later in the month.

I know! I was there, ready to make my purchase and, all of a sudden, I see 23 hours added to the clock! 😄

Well, we Atari nerds broke their servers. A second attempt is scheduled for tomorrow.

If you have the Lynx 2, BennVenn now offers a solderless LCD replacement. I've installed 2 of them now and it is very straightforward upgrade. But regardless of which LCD upgrade you go with, it is critical that the power stage components get refreshed and advise recapping the Lynx as well.
The McWill for the Lynx isn't that big a deal to install as I've done quite a few of them as well. There is more stuff to remove but the lynx systems are largely through hole components.
But the power stage stuff is SMD but it isn't too bad if you have a decent iron with a chisel tip and patience. I only recently got a hot air station to help with this, but was using my standard iron to remove the components pretty easily before.

I also had issues with my iPad. I think it did say something about tablets maybe not working so well on a description somewhere. Had to get the laptop out and got my order in.
I saw the reveal on Twitch Friday and it looks really fun. It was great listening to them all talking about how this came about. Someone asked if Steve Cartwright and others might come back and program and all they said that there is discussions with others about coming back but no names were mentioned. I also liked how they never said they were making homebrews as they are a company making games for the older systems and not someone working at home when they can. Someone suggested calling them Pro-Brews.
As they sometimes say "Everything old is new again"

Hey there from a fellow Texan! (I also had a Pong unit... well... clone I think... back in the day, but it's loong gone.) Hope you were okay during the big freeze!

That's some serious Atari street cred right there 👍 😁 Are you going to do that McWill screen mod that I've heard about?

I made a reaction video of the trailer, dissecting some of the gameplay and pointing out some of the ties to previous games.

David Crane, David Kitchen & Garry Kitchen are forming a new company, Audacity Games, to make new games for old systems. The will release physical games with a chance to earn physical, Activision style patches. My guess is Gold Rush, a spiritual sequel to Keystone Kapers, will be first.

Improvement. Really good port but frustrating when coily reaches near the top of pyramid and when you jump on the disk he waits for you at the top cube to hit you.

Good scores! Just out of curiosity, has anyone seen this homebrew version of Q*Bert that is currently being worked on? It add several of the elements missing from the Parker version and it fixes the pyramid asymmetry.

I’m glad you’re enjoying Q*bert Rick! there was a lot more excitement around Video Pinball than I expected, I wanted to continue that positive momentum with another 2600 game. I thought Q*bert would be a great game to play because it came later in the 2600’s life than Video Pinball, It’s a really good port of the arcade game on the 2600, and we haven’t done many Parker Brothers games in High Score Squad.
Great scores everybody! Let’s keep this going!
