  1. Thanks @RickR - i've actually been on the hunt for a modern replacement solution for the old 'sticks - a second spare pair which i don't expect to last too long

Thanks!  I've been seeing this theme meme on Fakebook, and thought the TI would be great 😄

  3. I went through 2 of them and one of them through 2 front wheels from "burning out" xD
  4. This a "contemporary" SAMS or a "vintage" one? Wonder if it's just a matter of a bad RAM chip....
  5. My little brother and I would use them to chat after bedtime. Also used them for pranks and hijinx, like suddenly buzzing a roomfull of people XD
  6. Alright, I'll play a round of this game 🙂 (hehehe - i couldn't help myself with the last one 😛 )
  7. "You don't prove a man a liar when you tear out his tongue, but you do prove you're afraid of what he has to say."

  8. Unfortunately there isn't the surplus splashable income at the moment for any extra expenditures. (Be nice if some more work picked up this year and stayed that way for a few months - I still have a nanoPEB to procure).
  9. Yeah, I'm with you on that - Ginger's real pretty and all, but Maryanne's got that wholesome girl next door look 🙂
  10. Reminds me of when Venus is next to Uranus xD
  11. True.... i've enjoyed having an F18A .... over 10 years now i think.
  12. Yeah, those are probably all you need, really to get the most out of the system.
  13. Hey, the same behavior after the cleaning is a good thing... 🙂
  14. Naw, there's nothing in my PEB that can't be "modernized" with the TIPI. You bring up an interesting point, speaking of the 32k - do you suggest that TIPIs can 'emulate' more than that? Can a TIPI 'emulate' something like say, the SAMS card? My 32k card is acting squirrelly and probably has some bad RAM chips. Other than the memory expansion, there's nothing much else in there besides an RS232 and disk controller. Didn't you have a few extra toys in yours like a realtime clock? I could definitely see the advantage to an internal TIPI with such extra goodies.
  15. Before getting a PEB i had a parallel port that plugged right into the side bus expansion. Getting the PEB made that obsolete- and now the PEB is sort of obsolete since i have the nanoPEB. And the nanoPEB will probably become obsolete whenever i get around to finally putting a TIPI together.
  16. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out 😎
  17. Sounds sweet - i'm not familiar with that project, so i'll have to do some looking, but having SAMS and P-Code would be awesome.
  18. I've been firing up the TI for a round of gaming (usually homebrews) periodically (maybe twice a month) for the last few months. I'm still saving for a TIPI - so getting that could give a invigorating dose of interest. And welcome aboard @TMOP69 🙂
  19. I wish i'd taken my silver unit with me when i moved out
  20. My poorman solution in the early 90s was Beyond WordWriter with a DB-10 parallel printer interface
  21. I've never been great at it either, but i still like it 🙂
  22. I actually converted one of my RF cables to a composite cable using the ends of another RCA cable. It works, but was sort of an annoying project because despite the wiring being fairly well known, i still managed to screw it up the first time and had to change a connection.
