    Is there a way to disable Windows Update? It's annoying.

      Yeah man.  Disable the update service.

      I had to update my computer this morning. It took half an hour. I could have used that half-hour programming instead of useless stupid computer updates.

      At a bare minimum, you can change the Windows Update preferences to do updates outside of your active hours.  Like at 2am or something.
