  1. I spent the last hour or so cleaning and testing a box of loose carts that have been in a garage for years. So far all of them work in a stock Jr.  The third party carts were a little finicky in a 7800 and Retro 77. Atari carts all loaded with no issue.

I did have one mystery cart in the bunch. Any guesses?

  2. My latest pickups are these two boxed 2600 games.  The boxes are a little beat up, but they'll look good on my shelf.  The carts are in nice condition.

For an Activision cart, the label looks like it's still in pretty good condition!

  3. Goodbye, Woody. You were a great little system. I had you for only a year but we got to know each other so well. Now you must go back to your original owner. Farewell.

  4. A pretty nice bundle of games arrived today.  "Revenge of the Gator Pinball" is one I've never heard of, and it's really fun.  The label is terrible, so I made my own for the back.  In addition to these, there were several duplicates that will go into the next junk box.

Cool! I found a Revenge of the Gator cart at a pawn shop during a trip to Idaho last month. Addictive little game. I love the intro screen. I posted my high score a few days ago on the forum scoreboard. (Using an SP, yes I admit. 🙂) Maybe one of you can beat my score!

      Hey Lee!

My job hasn't been too busy right now, so I've been watching a lot of classic movies on Roku and riding my bike for exercise. I have a Game Boy project I've been working on, but I've taken a break for the last couple weeks. I really should get back to it while I have the time.

  6. I've been around but unable to visit this particular site recently. Firefox prevented access and gave me a warning that this site would install malicious software or something like that. I tried Safari & Chrome but to no avail. I'm here now, though, so I'm confused as to what happened.

Hi Marco! The non-forums part of the site has been having some security issues lately. See this thread:

      https://forums.atari.io/topic/4465-atari-io-malware-security-warning-issue/

It brings up a warning for even the forums much of the time. When I use my phone browser no warnings appear, so that's how I've been using the site lately.

Cool! I just bought my Everdrive GB recently. Neat little device!

I've been studying Game Boy programming lately. I used RGBDS for my assembler, Notepad++ to edit my code, and the BGB emulator to test my ROM before moving it to my Everdrive. (BGB has some fantastic debugging tools, BTW.) I used this code as a starting point: https://eldred.fr/gb-asm-tutorial/hello-world.html. To create the tiles for the Atari logo, I used "Gameboy Tile Designer", a program that's starting show it's age, but it's still useful.

If anyone is interesting in learning Game Boy programming or understanding some of the technical details of the Game Boy, I recommend this video: https://media.ccc.de/v/33c3-8029-the_ultimate_game_boy_talk
