Happy Thanksgiving to the best damn Atari community on the web!
-
I'm thankful for everyone on this site, but especially thankful for the return of @Atari Creep to the io. Now shut up with the mushy stuff and go watch a few of his videos.

I'm back from Egypt. Jet lagged and sore from the long flight! I'll have to post more pictures of the trip and of a few more things, including gaming and non-gaming arrivals. I'll be heading to FreePlay Florida this weekend, though! So, I'm sure I'll have more loot from there as well!
-
Welcome back! We cannot wait to hear about all these adventures and things.

Have You Played Atari Today?! 🕹️
-
TODAY is the perfect day to do so. As a distraction.
I will try to get in some Robot Tank and/or Battlezone after work.

For the next couple of weeks my activity level will be down as I'm going on vacation to the land of the pyramids, Egypt. So looking forward to it! 🙂

Hawaiian slice aka Pizza with Pineapple has always been a personal favorite, there I said it! 🍕DON'T CANCEL ME!
-
You are not alone.
I believe that "Canadian Bacon and pineapple" pizza was invented somewhere in British Columbia, Canada. As a kid, I remember having it when visiting relatives up north. And it was a staple in most west coast USA pizza places. And it was NEVER called "Hawaiian". It was "Canadian Bacon and Pineapple".
The weird thing is that people don't complain about that ham (Canadian bacon) topping, even though it is just as unique.
Anyway, this is one of those "I don't get it" situations regarding the hatred for pineapple. After all, it's easy enough to not order it or to pick it off.
These days ,my wife and I avoid any of those processed meats on pizza and usually go with as many veggie toppings as we can. Pineapple is always welcome.
Similarly, the "Die Hard is a Christmas Movie" argument is another WhoTF cares one for me 🙂

I finally caved and got one of these for my new home office/gameroom.

I wish we would’ve seen Star Trek: Planet of the Titans. Especially the legendary Japanese actor Toshiro Mifune cast as a Klingon adversary for Spock 🖖

Here's a short clip of Radar Rat Race (!) for the Commodore 64. This game was selected for the October High Score Challenge over at EverythingC64:
-
The C64 cart games like this were so disappointing. Why? Well, while they were great games and a lot of fun, they essentially look and play exactly like the VIC-20 versions! No upgrades at all.
From what I recall, there was some memory limitation on C64 cartridges. Games could only be 8k or 16k max.
There were some really great games -- Radar Rat Race, Gorf, Omega Race...but they were "better" on VIC-20.

Sorry that I'm late with the Recharged Squad Challenge this month. We closed on a larger place and I'm in the middle of a move. My laptop wasn't with me the last few days.
Anyway, hope folks will check out the Savage Halloween this month! It's a very fun retro styled run 'n gun.

I really like the "Tempest" arcade1up cab. Although I have plans to replace the buttons.

Should be said that PETE ROSE BASEBALL is one of the greatest sports games on the Atari 2600 — just unreal⚾️
Massively fun Baseball game that looks and plays almost like an NES game
and highly ranked by @nosweargamer
Huge credit to Alex DeMeo👇

Completely agree. During the pandemic, we had four people here all either working from home or going to school from home. We had some pretty immediate problems with wifi coverage. So I invested in a really nice router and all the issues went away. Our internet speed was always just fine.
Now that it's just two of us and only me working from home, absolutely all good.
But boy what an ordeal to get the cable company to remove TV from our service! They kept trying to upsell me into a "deal" that cost more but had more channels or speed. No! I just want internet for less than $100. They actually made me go in to one of the brick/mortar stores to get the TV cancelled.

Here is ours. Streaming, working from home both work very well. Our contracted speed is 300 down, 25 down. The issue is the cost. We pay $71 per month for this, and there is really no other choice. Cable or DSL are the only options, and the cost is pretty much the same (no competition really sucks).
