Oh it gets more worrisome. The status shows as "delivered" at 5:21pm yesterday, but no sign of the box. I don't think it was stolen, but rather the mail person must have put it in the wrong box. Hopefully, whichever neighbor got it will give it to me today. Fingers crossed!

Saw the other post. Glad you got the GameDrive cartridge. That must have been nerve-wracking waiting for it. Happy for you. :O)

I've added jump-rope to my exercise regiment. It was really difficult at first -- I was really huffing and puffing on day 1. But it's getting a lot easier after about a week. That's good, right?
Is anyone else doing some new exercises to help stay in good health?

I think I am inspired to get myself a jump rope now!
That's nice WFH became a permanent option. The company I work for has gone back and forth about returning to the office. There was a set date this month but it was cancelled. I am now required to work in the office just one day a week, personally I love WFH so I am happy I only have to go in one day!

Yeah, inkjets clog, drain your bank account with expensive ink, almost the same price/weight as gold... a huge rip-off (IMHO). If you don't use them all the time the ink can dry in the lines and ruin the printer. I went though quite literally a dozen inkjet printers before I got smart and bought a laser printer. I've had the same printer now for four or five years and it's still going strong.
-
I agree with you, but this printer we have has been rock solid. I just printed photographs on photographic paper earlier this week with no issues. It's just this print that went bad, and like I said, I'm not too worried.
My wife prints A LOT for her work, so this thing stays busy. Probably just a slightly clogged head or bad blue cartridge.

Another Christmas surprise! I got a really nice lot of Colecovision loot from the Colecovision Lunatics Facebook group. Magnets, stickers, etc. It's a good group to follow if you love Coleco stuff.

A Kay-Bee ad from 1984 that is circulating on Facebook. Wouldn't it be cool to take the DeLorean time machine back to that time with a wad of cash and buy everything in sight?

I'd only buy the items that have astronomical prices now. Just imagine how much money we could make hawking truly rare items on Ebay!
-
Buy all the games, and also buy some Apple stock. Keep the games and sell the stock once you get back.

That was a great year for everyone. Atari, video arcades, the Cars. I was turning ten years old in 1984. I remember it like yesterday. :O)

I've got the day off work. My plan is to stay home, clean up a few messes and play some games (Cybermorph and 2600 Boxing). Tomorrow will be time to finish up Secret Santa and start decorating for the holiday.
I hope you all have a nice weekend!-
That sounds good! Today (and Monday) are my work from home days now, so once I sign off of work I may do some of the same things. Really need to get caught up on Christmas shopping and decorating!!

I've got a short 3 day trip to Reno, NV coming up soon. I've never been. Anyone have any "must-do" or "skip that" suggestions? I'm not too interested in gambling but love things like museums and nature/hiking/exploring. I haven't decided if I'll get a rental car. One thing I'm considering is finding a way to get over to Lake Tahoe for a day.

I used to stay with a former Atari colleague of mine who had a place in Cal-Neva, a cool little resort village right on the state line between California and Nevada. The state line ran right through the swimming pool and the clubhouse. On one side there was gambling, on the other side there was no smoking. Pretty interesting!

I initially thought GTA 4 would be too violent for my taste...but the story kind of sucks you in. It feels like our hero is "reluctantly" violent. That gives it depth that I wasn't expecting.

GTA IV is actually more "tamed" than 3 was. I haven't beat it but what I have played of it I enjoyed. If you like GTA then definitely keep an eye out for any Saint's Row games. 3, 4, and Gat out of Hell are the better ones in the series. And I would recommend GTA 5 if you liked 4.
Of course, if you like driving games, there's some sort of law that says you can't have a PlayStation without picking up Gran Turismo. I had GT5 and was blown away! I have ModNation Racers. It's kind of along the lines of Mario Kart except you can build your own race tracks. You use to be able to share your creations online but I think Sony shut those servers down. I had a blast with that one as well.
I tried a demo to Uncharted once. It was fun but I never had a PS3 long enough to get those. I wanted to try The Last of Us because it looked like it would be good but I missed it. Yep...the PS3 when I had one was a great console. I only went with XBOX 360 because when I tried to get another PS3 (while they were still in production) no one had one locally. All I could find was a 360.

How about a twist plot for a new version of the Twilight Zone classic "Time Enough At Last": A nerd survives a nuclear blast by living in his parents' basement. As the sole survivor, he finally is able to find and collect ALL of the retro games and systems. As he finally sits down to start playing, the power finally cuts out!
On the bright side, he can get some solar panels or a generator.- Show previous comments 2 more

Yep. I think he's in a total of 3 different TZ episodes, and Shatner is in 2.

Whoops...4! He's in 4 episodes.
