  1. RIP Tobe Hooper. Director of Texas Chainsaw Masacre and Poltergeist (kind of)

  2. I also got a copy of "Great Golf". Looks great. Very challenging. It doesn't hold your hand like other golf games do. But it's fun. I'm starting to be very impressed with the SMS. Great hardware.
  3. I got a copy of Reggie Jackson, and you are so right! It's a great baseball game. Very arcadey and fun. Although I don't like how the field is sometimes a weird color.
  4. I finally got a copy of SMS Choplifter, and I have to say, it's the BEST version of that game that I've tried. But, it's also really really hard. I love the level set at sea.
  5. A complete Sega Genesis (model 2) -- I'll include a gamepad (not pictured). For trade or sale.
  6. Great deal. Very tempting indeed.
  7. I've had my eye out for a 600XL for a long time. Well, I finally found one for a nice price via Facebook. The cool XL tape drive was a nice bonus. The 600XL works, and I've made project plans to expand it's memory to 64k. The only 8-bit computer left now on my "want" list is a 1200XL.
  8. Updated shipping order list. jmjustin6 (GA) Ballblazer (MD) correagonzales (NY) - Out Sept 2-6 chas10e (ME) Willie! (NC) AtariBrian (NY) Starbuck66 (MI) - vacation mid-Sept. TrekMD (FL) nosweargamer (TN) greenween (CO) MalakZero (CA)
  9. That's because I can't copy/paste correctly. Sorry. One moment.
  10. Here is my first swipe at a shipping order. Please contact me with any changes. Thanks! jmjustin6 (GA) Ballblazer (MD) correagonzales (NY) - Out Sept 2-6 chas10e (ME) Willie! (NC) AtariBrian (NY) Starbuck66 (MI) - vacation mid-Sept. nosweargamer (TN) greenween (CO) MalakZero (CA)
  11. Mildew, smoke, and cat smells are the worst IMO. I have a Commodore 64c that smells like cat. I've cleaned it, but it's pretty pervasive. Nothing seems to work. It's a lot better than it was. But it's still there. And no offense to cats or people that love them. Most of the time, it's not an issue. But some objects just have that smell. Maybe the cat used it as a bathroom at some point. Who knows?
  12. I couldn't find any pictures of our Atari 2600 set up from the glory days...but here is the room in the basement it resided in (all cleaned up). In that back right corner, there was a two-tiered, wheeled TV stand. 19" Sampo color TV on top shelf, Atari on the bottom. There was a bookcase on that right wall that housed all the boxes from the games (sadly, those got thrown out years ago). The floor had a grey area rug.
  13. I'm gonna check that out, K. Looks good.
  14. IF YOU WANT IN, SIGN UP SOON. The most up-to-date list: nosweargamer (TN) Ballblazer (MD) Starbuck66 (MI) - vacation mid-Sept. chas10e (ME) AtariBrian (NY) MalakZero (CA) jmjustin6 (GA) Willie! (NC) correagonzales (NY) - Out Sept 2-6 greenween (CO) TrekMD (FL) I'll start working on the order of shipping. Shockingly, Priority Mail takes only 2 days to go a long distance (example: Oregon to FL,) but 3 days for short distances (NY to NY).
  15. I think you need to get one in your hands before you decide. If you have giant hands, you'll hate it. Plus the button is too small. But it's got really tight control. Just twitch to move. I love it. For games that need precision, it's awesome.
  16. I'm tellin' ya....keep a copy of Space Invaders handy. That one makes it easy to tell if you're on A or B. Fat ship = A, skinny ship = B.
  17. Ice Hockey, Realsports Volleyball, Pele's Soccer are on my top 25 list too.
  18. And yes, I'm old and grew up with it just like you.
  19. Adventure Demon Attack Yars' Revenge River Raid Missile Command Berzerk Stargate / Defender 2 Ms. Pac Man Circus Atari Space Invaders Honorable mentions: Empire Strikes Back, Indy 500, Kaboom, Jr. Pac Man (It's hard to limit it to just 10)
  20. Seems like once you got the axe, you were unable to kill anything in the demo video.
  21. It's pretty wild to find. I must have grabbed it in a thrift store and not even realized it was different than a plain Genesis pad until now.
  22. Check this out. I didn't know these existed, but I had one in a box of controllers. Looks like an official Sega gamepad that has autofire switches added. Were these common? I'm going to use it as my main Genesis controller.
  23. I always wanted an Amiga, especially once I learned that it's the true successor to the Atari 2600/8-bit design. But I've never seen one for sale here, and the various model numbers and such make it pretty intimidating given the cost. I do have an Atari ST. It's good, but the games remind me so much of the Sega Genesis in look, sound, and feel. That's not a bad thing, but it makes it feel kind of redundant.
