  1. They do a good job on those systems that use an RF or composite cable (Intellivision, 7800, Colecovision, old computers). They are high quality. Nice thick wires, good shielding, gold connectors. I should post a before/after of my 7800 video quality with one of these. They are pretty spendy new. So when I see them cheap at thrift stores, I grab them whether I need them or not.
  2. Two complete PS2 games, and a nice Monster cable for $2.
  3. Dude, that is FANTASTIC. If you don't mind me saying, you look great.
  4. Pac Man Collection - Also available from Atari Age. This game is so awesome. Finally, a good version of Pac Man for the 7800. And so many different options. Ms Pac Man also included. Did I mention all the options? It's insane. You can literally spend hours exploring all the different options they packed into this cart. Random mazes? More speed? Special bonus fruits? All intermissions are here too. PROs So many options Is as difficult as the arcade versions. Ghosts eyes move in the direction they travel. Gets very fast very quickly. Really feels like the arcade versions. CONs Sounds - TIA sounds are good, not great Graphics are a little blocky. Especially Pac Man...his rear end is pretty flat! I'm really nitpicking. There are no cons. This game is a homebrew best seller for a reason. If you have a 7800, get this game. Rating: 5 out of 5 stars.
  5. I found one, and bought it. My verdict: Really good. ET would approve too, I'm sure.
  6. You will do awesome I'm sure. Good luck. Enjoy!
  7. I don't remember a single person that used CGA in composite mode. All I know is CGA graphics were a huge step down for anyone with an Atari 8-bit or Commodore 64. My very first PC had an EGA card, which was much better than CGA. I don't think the PC became a viable gaming platform until VGA and the earliest Voodoo cards came out.
  8. I thought it'd be kind of fun for people to post reviews of any 7800 homebrews they've purchased. Please join in and post your own reviews. I'll start with Frenzy, which I purchased very recently from the AtariAge store. Frenzy is the arcade sequel to the Stern classic "Berzerk!" For whatever reason, it wasn't as popular as Berzerk -- probably too similar to the original -- but it was a great game with sweet new features like different robots, bounce shots, and walls that you could shoot out. PROs It has speech without need of a pokey chip! Sounds great. Very faithful to the arcade version of Frenzy Includes Berzerk. 2 games in 1 cart 2 player modes! Co-op and competitive. Very cool. Very challenging. I like that a lot, as it makes you want to try "one more time" to beat your last score. CONs Slowdowns when there are a lot of objects on the screen. It's a great game, and one that isn't really available for other systems. The Colecovision has an awesome version of Frenzy, and it's actually even better than this one. Although the CV version doesn't have speech, or Berzerk, or the co-op 2 player modes, I still find the CV version to be more fun. There aren't slow-downs like in this version and there are added fun screen designs not in the arcade version. Also, the CV version is more colorful. I rate the 7800 version 4 out of 5 stars. A lot of fun.
  9. I read somewhere that it's a Linux box. So probably emulation. Still, that interface looks really good.
  10. Playing Halo 2600 - OMG is it awesome.

I got to try this in emulation and thought it was really cool. Never thought about purchasing it though.

You should consider it. Support the homebrew creators so they will make more games!

  11. I think I like those display boxes more than I'd like the real console! Great pickup.
  12. WOW! This one is right up my alley. Thanks!
  13. Woah! I have not thought of that. Combat goes more with Thanksgiving...especially if people decide to talk politics at dinner.
  14. R4 is pretty rare if you ask me. Anything higher starts to get spendy.
  15. Please count me in. I'll also do the charity donation. I'll need a little hand holding as far as how we know who our recipient is, and how to communicate our and their wants. Thanks! (want list is here: http://forums.atari.io/index.php/topic/1040-rickr-want-list/?p=8446)
  16. I don't think my score is high enough to post to the high score forum.
  17. I'm not sure...but you can bet it will be sometime this month.
  18. This post is fantastic. Good luck with your run. Don't be nervous -- you are a winner for trying in my book. It is really something to stick with a plan like you've done. :thumb:
  19. I'm interested in the C64 Frog Master. Anything on my "games for trade" post I have that looks good?
  20. Best Food Fight Ballblazer Ms. Pac Man Asteroids One on One Basketbal Worst (#1 here is the very worst -- order is confusing to me) Karateka Pete Rose Baseball Impossible Mission (it's really impossible to win!) Fight Night Realsports Baseball
  21. Everdrive is less than $50? Holy crap, off to the internets!
  22. I'm the guy who'll pay $40 to avoid having to deal with Black Friday crowds. Sanity is worth the extra $20. There's actually a growing trend of stores and malls staying closed on Black Friday, which I think is a good thing. Off topic...sorry!
