  1. Oh yes, my wife and I are loving this show! S2,E3 - Time travel! This one was the worst so far, but still good!
  2. The enemy speed seems to ramp way up once you get all the treasure I think. It's a great game!
  3. Datasoft "Zorro" on 8-bit.  An overlooked classic.

Nice. I never played this one.

I haven't either.  But I have quickly learned that Datasoft must have been one of the better third party developers.  Truth be told it is probably because of them some of the 5200 games were even made.

I've been playing more Zorro, and it is an interesting game.  It kind of reminds me of "Bruce Lee" in visual style, but it's definitely not as good.  It's more of a puzzle solving game, which is fine.  But there are issues:

      • The music repeats over and over and over.  It will get on your nerves.
      • Figuring out what to do is not very obvious.  I had to refer to on-line guides.  How the heck could any casual gamer back then figure any of this out?
      • Lots and lots of backtracking.  Take this object over there, but you also need this other object, and since you can only carry one at a time....go back and get it.

  4. I guess the waiting point for me is knowing if something like the Harmony cart will work on this new 2600+. If no, I don't think it's the right device for me. But I still may pull the trigger on it anyway just because it is so cool. Polymega seems to be a different thing....it would be adding all your 2600 games to the VCS right?
  5. Definitely both. If anything, the Polymega has a much bigger slice of my attention.
  6. Great news! Fingers crossed that things continue to improve for the situation up there.
  7. I've seen RDR in the graphics card performance reviews on YouTube -- channel name is RandomGamingHD. https://www.youtube.com/@RandomGaminginHD The game looks fun, and I think my kids may have left a copy behind on either PS3 or PS4. I'll have to investigate, as I still have a PS3.
  8. S2-E2 set in a courtroom and was really good. A+.
  9. Dave Berg "The Lighter Side of" was always a highlight of MAD Magazine. It kind of cracked me up how Dave's self portraits looked a lot like my dad.
  10. In case I didn't mention it, I have an original Evercade, which I purchased used a few months ago.
  11. I was just talking about this over dinner with my wife and we both decided that price point of $130 is a steal. I remember my parents paying $180 for our real VCS in 1980...so this thing is cheaper than the original was when new NOT EVEN CONSIDERING INFLATION! This is exactly what many retro gamers have been dreaming of for 25 years. Dear Atari: this is so awesome. I applaud you.
  12. Good to know! Thanks. It is super confusing because the web site says this:
  13. I think the price is really nice, and I like the look, colors, and form factor. It reminds me a lot of a Gameboy Color. My personal thought was to wait and see how the reviews are and then jump in if they are positive.
  14. A listing of the various Evercade hardware/console options: Evercade (original) Released: May 2020 Discontinued: May 2022 (with limited firmware updates) This is the original portable console, available with a white face or a special-edition black face. It still works with all released software, although some features are missing (more info needed here) Available new in very limited quantity. However, used consoles are readily available. Aug 2023 prices are $50-$100 used. Summary: This is a great way to introduce yourself to the Evercade for a great price. Evercade EXP Released: Dec 2022 The updated version of the handheld Evercade. The screen size remains the same. However, this version has higher resolution, more buttons, higher battery capacity, and wifi. The regular version is $150, and the black limited edition is $180. (Look for sales on Amazon and other retailers for a slightly better deal) Summary: Newest version with most up-to-date features. Evercade VS Released: Dec 2021 The home console (not handheld/portable) version of Evercade. Multi-player -- it has 4 controller ports (and comes with two controllers). Price is $130 or so. Summary: It isn't portable. If you don't mind, this is a great option. Especially for multi-player games Blaze Super Pocket (Taito or Capcom Editions) Released: October 2023 Only $60, but a much smaller screen and form factor. This handheld has built-in games and a cartridge slot for all Evercade carts. Summary: At only $60, this is a steal and a great way to introduce yourself to Evercade, assuming the screen is big enough for you.
  15. It looks like Berzerk (enhanced) and Mr. Run and Jump -- both available for pre-order at $30, don't include a box or instructions. Cart only. Still a good deal, but I think the picture is misleading.
  16. Oh sweet mother of mercy. Orders are being taken now? I'll go check it out later today.
  17. OK, I'm happy to say we've finally started season 2 here! We just finished Andor on Disney+, so I've canceled that service and re-activated Paramount+. S2,E1 was awesome. A+
  18. I love that price sticker on that one. It gives it some nice provenance.
  19. I agree that it is worthwhile. There are lots of different things to see and do, and tons of the best restaurants in the world. However, it is hard to escape that casino reputation. Step 1 is to stay somewhere off the strip. Hoover Dam is great. Red Rocks, Pinball Hall of Fame, museums, shows, that new electro sphere thing....But do yourself a favor and try to go in the winter when it isn't so blasted hot.
  20. What a terrible shame that they closed it. I imagine it was popular the whole time it was open.
  21. Whatever pictures we have from that trip would be on old school film prints. So I don't think I have anything scanned in to share. I wish I did though.
  22. OMG, I was just talking about this today! My wife and I went once. I think it was 1998. I remember it so well. It was so well done with the walk through part and then the 3d ride part. I also remember it was kind of a hike to get to the Hilton from the Mirage where we were staying. It's cool you got to do the back stage tour and get that picture in the captains chair! I remember listening to a Wil Wheaton book were he described going to the Star Trek Experience with his wife. If I recall, he kind of scoffed about it at first, but the second he saw that Ent-D bridge, he about broke down in amazement.
  23. Welcome. Hopefully you can share your Jaguar knowledge with the rest of us. I'm kind of new to the Jaguar still. I splurged on one a few years back but haven't explored it fully.
  24. Oh wow! I'll look for that at the grocery store tomorrow. Or is this only available at Barnes and Noble?
