Cold front dropped tonight after being 60 and sunny most of the day. Got One-on-One for the 7800 today for $7 super clean cart that looks to have been played like once. 

I find myself testing tape drives today. 

My car is a total loss and I got my settlement valuation which met my expectations. I'm thinking of going with a certified used Ioniq 5 as it's the closest thing to Trapper Keeper on wheels that exists in today's market.
I'm going to be out test driving for the next several days. I have a rental until Monday.

I will admit that this new Atari collaboration with Cariuma has me a little intrigued. I own a pair of Cariuma canvas sneakers and they're nice, casual footwear for the summer.

Well, it looks like I'll be getting a car payment for the first time in a while. I loved my MINI S 4-door. It was more fun to drive than any car I've owned since my '85 Fiero. RIP little buddy.

I think this simple post on today's announcement of the Atari 400 has been my most viewed/liked post ever on X. Over 6k views, 130 likes, tons of comments and 24 reposts. Who knew the 400 MINI would elicit such excitement? It's bizarre.

Finally got Namco Museum Collection 1 to go with Collection 2. Glad to have these for the Pocket! 

First big snowfall of 2024 with seemingly more to follow later this week. Will get much colder by the end of the week as well.

Picked this up today. Fun game for $4 especially if you're into Atari 2600 Bowling 

And so it begins... the collection purge. Before I take the games to Pink Gorilla, I offered up my PS1, PS2, PS4, and Dreamcast games to a gamer couple in the local gaming group. This is what I've pulled out for them. I ended selling a couple of games (like Metal Gear Solid and Parasite Eve II) that I was intending to keep, but I am happy that they are going to people I know who will love them as much as I did.

Fun SEGA trivia: According to Yu Suzuki, if Sega president Hayao Nakayama saw that a game's graphics were completed, he would consider the game finished and try to release it. To get around this -- since it was impossible to just show nothing when Nakayama came by -- Yu rigged a switch under his desk to wipe Space Harrier's color RAM, using it for on-demand graphical sabotage. During one of the times he did this, the effect looked so impressive, Yu extracted the data and kept it in as the game's actual colors.

I did not share this earlier, but on Tuesday I was making my normal commute when I was hit in the intersection while making a protected left turn. The other driver ran the red. Fortunately, I'm just a bit sore and we'll see if my car can be repaired or not.
Two good samaritans stopped to check on me. They both were rushed for work and didn't stick around for the cops but promised to send their dash cam footage and contact info. Fortunately, both followed through. I can't quit watching it. If I was a split second earlier into my turn, my one year old may not know her dad.
Just a reminder to hold your loved ones tight and do not take things for granted. I lost my father to a drunk driver over 20 years ago. No one has a guarantee on tomorrow.
 

I miss old Nick-at-Nite 🌛 and listening to it on late summer nights while I play SNES and Sega and Duo and Jag straight on till morning
